One of the best used bookstores I've ever been to, full stop (and I've been to a lot of used book stores). It's overstuffed in the best way, but be prepared for teetering stacks of books on the floor. This just adds to the charm so far as I'm concerned. The literature section (mostly literary fiction) is fantastic, and the poetry section has been steadily improving since I moved to the area six years ago, and the drama section is unparalleled in the region. Lots of children's, middle grade, and YA as well if that's what you're looking for. I for one would put in a vote for a general literary nonfiction/essays section, or else to have those books interspersed with literature, but only because I'm sure I'm missing interesting books hiding in sections I don't regularly check. But that just means you could browse for days and still keep finding things—a feature, not a bug. They also buy books and don't rip you off (though, as is typical, it's a much better deal to get store credit than cash). Stop in the next time you're in Pullman.

A labyrinth of booksYou could spend an entire day in there and not even see all of what's there.

If you go in without a clear goal for what you want, you'll have a great time browsing

This is one of the last great used book stores. The staff is so helpful- they really know their stuff. Also if you're looking for a book and they don't have it, they take your number and call you when it comes in. I love Brused!

Difficult to even look at the featured books on the end caps or front, the store is over packed. Constantly being bumped or asked to move doesn't work out of you are not the only shopper.

Overall an awesome bookstore! There are some caveats as it is a local store so availability is somewhat limited, but with that said they have a huge selection. There are books EVERYWHERE! That means the organizing/catalog system is more of a vague suggestion than an absolute rule so you may find books in odd places (Tolkien in sci-fi for ex). Other than that it's amazing and honestly, the books everywhere add to the charm. Feels like a proper bookstore and less sterile and rigid than most. Would recommend!

We were just passing through and I talked my husband into stopping and I'm so glad! What a wonderful book store! Prices are reasonable and the quality of books here is top notch. We stopped at a different book store on our route earlier today and there wasn't a single book I purchased. In contrast, I had quite the stack here today and still only managed to spend just under $60. Some of these books aren't very easy to find either, so I was quite happy with my finds. Definitely give yourself a couple of hours to fully explore and enjoy this store.

Really well priced and packed store! Not too busy so you can spend tons of time looking. The highest price I saw was $7, and if the book isn’t labeled then it’s half of the price on the back of the book. Definitely block out at least an hour to browse and sort through to find your favorites.

Nice book store. Don't be in there during an earth quake because you will be crushed by all the books.
