I recently purchased a used tractor from Pape in Poulsbo Wa. My experience was very good. The sales team works with you to fit your needs and are also very up front about every step in the process. Response to questions was timely and they really made the experience very pleasant. While there is not a lot of used inventory on the lot, they are very good about getting what you are looking for to the store. (What I was getting was not something common to the Poulsbo area and they were still able to fit my need.) My sales representative was Alex Jorgensen. Financing through John Deere was the best rate and the easiest to set up out of at least 5 different banking institutions that I checked.

Absolutely DO NOT have any maintenance performed here! I brought my John Deere D110 in to have a new deck installed for over $1,000. How hard can that be? Five days later, I am informed my tractor is ready for pickup. I tested the new deck on site for mower engagement functionality, and everything worked fine so I loaded the riding mower on the trailer. A month later, it was time to mow for the 1st time of the year with my new deck. When I engaged the mower blades, nothing happened. I took the tractor back to Pape and the person behind the counter told me to watch how the mechanic fixed the NEW deck just in case it breaks again? Are you serious? That tractor never had an issue in 15 years until I let Pape touch it. The mechanic informs me that “it should not break again”. I go home and try to mow again and the mower blades stop spinning after only 30 feet and 30 seconds of mowing!!! Now I am furious, as the lawn seriously needs mowing, so I am forced to go buy a NEW John Deere tractor that I shouldn’t even need for $2,500. Do not let this happen to you, avoid this place at all costs!!

We needed a battery for a John Deere riding mower. Got one here and they have us $9 for the old battery. Great employees and convenient location. Plenty of parking. Would definitely recommend. Tons of power tools.

In my opinion, the service department at Pape' Machinery in Poulsbo is unethical, dishonest and incompetent. Do not have any equipment maintenance or service performed by this company unless you enjoy being overcharged and are looking for an adult dose of frustration.

Not a great experience with the service department.Set an appointment to have my tractor picked up 2 weeks in advance. The canopy had broken away from the machine and one of the large tires was leaking (likely from a rock between the rubber and the rim). Asked that they also do an oil change while it was there.2 weeks later they picked up the machine as scheduled. 15 days later I called for a status update. I was told they take 10 -14 days to look at a machine and mine would be looked at soon. I thought this was odd since I had set my appointment 2 weeks early.A week later I got a call that they can't fix the canopy. I asked why the service department didn't tell me that in the first place since that was the main concern. Also asked where I could get it fixed and they told me to find a welder; they had no suggestions. They also said they would need 6 hours to investigate the front differential. I said I only wanted the tire re-set.A couple days later I received a call that they had to order an oil filter and air filter and it should be in soon. I again wondered why they hadn't ordered that when I set my appointment, or at least when the machine arrived. Fast forward a week and the oil and air filter that they said would be there in a day still hadn't arrived.Throughout this process I had left 4 messages for the service department. None of my calls were returned. I was later told to talk to a manager. Left a message for him and waited 2 days for a call back. Filter still not there. They re-mounted the tire and delivered my tractor back to my place. So I spent over $500 for them to remove a tire and take it to Les Schwab.I'd avoid using Pape'.

Came in to talk about purchasing a tractor for our hobby farm after a disappointing experience elsewhere. Nick was friendly and helpful, answered my questions and never felt like I was being pressured into considering something I didn't want. Didn't have what we wanted on the lot but was pretty painless to put in a purchase order, six weeks later our new tractor was delivered with no hiccups or headaches. Pleasant experience overall and already putting the new machine to good use.

The service department in Poulsbo, is terrible. I brought my Gator in to have the check engine light checked. The tech called me three days later told me that my battery was running low and he would charge it for me. I asked about the check engine light he said “we don’t have the machine to check for that” I laughed told him I was the main reason I dropped it off with them in the first place. He offered to send it to Mt. Vernon, free of charge, stating that they are more well equipped to deal with Gators. I agreed. I called a week later to make sure it was on the truck to MT. Vernon. Ashley the service rep had no idea I what I was talking about and the technician was out of state for the next few weeks. Once again I laughed kind of mind blown at the whole thing. She said she would email them and they would call me. Mt. Vernon called me, and said they were really busy and probably wouldn’t be able to get me in for the next few weeks. They made a call to Sumner to try to squeeze me in sooner. So, now here I am having to drive to Sumner from Poulsbo……..BEST PART? When I came in to pick up from Poulsbo, Ashley said “oh you’re here for the Gator and you declined the services right?” Again I laughed and said “no you guys can’t check codes remember?” She had no remorse! She didn’t care whatsoever about all the time I wasted. All she said was “yeah that sucks.”

Absolutely disappointing sales experience ruining an otherwise good product. If you want a negative mental association with your John Deere then buy it here! I walked in here to buy a little 1025 that was sitting on the property back in May. They just needed to get the mower deck from another of their stores and it would be delivered. "We will call you when its ready. " After 3-4 weeks, I ran out of patience and I called to check on the status. Sorry, your tractor is miles away at a different branch! We don't have anyone here to do the work. I insisted they deliver without the deck and after another couple of weeks they finally did. I tried checking on the mower deck several times during the summer but finding a sales rep in particular is an elusive target when they won't answer phones or return messages. I really don't know how I found a sales rep in the first place to buy the thing. Over the last several weeks I finally started pressing out of frustration. I have had to explain this story to multiple people at Pape. Sort of reminds me of going to a hospital where you have to explain why you're there over and over to every doctor or nurse that comes into the room. So now its October 8th and they have had the tractor hostage again for two weeks to install a mower deck! I don't have my "new" tractor that I purchased nearly five months ago!!!! Hell give me the parts and I'll do it myself. Called today Friday morning to get an update. "Closed for inventory until Monday"! LAST STRAW!!! google review last straw anyway. Seriously, go somewhere else.

I bought a John Deere X758 2 years ago from them and have had excellent customer service since the purchase. I’ve also had numerous chainsaws, leaf blowers, weed eaters all serviced there and they have been more than fair on their prices. Highly recommended.

Brought my chainsaw in. Wouldn't start...used 3 times, they didn't meet their date I had to call and miraculously it would be another 2 weeks (obviously forgot about me) then found nothing supposedly wrong! Then treated me like a stupid girl who didn't know how to operate her chainsaw! SPOILER alert....still not starting and took it to Kitsap Lawn and Tractor and was treated like a customer! Will never go back to Pape again!

Bad experience with them, I don't recommend this store! Changed hands lately, poor attitude. This company had my mower in for maintenance service for almost two months and didn't even touch it! I went from 5 stars to no stars rating. Manager -Chris -care to comment on this post? Real PITA!
