I only get my hair done about every six months, because my hair color usually doesn’t need it. I was ready again and needed a new salon (because I’m relatively new to the area). I found this salon and got an appointment with Alice (not Lisa, as I initially posted). I was told on the phone that the cost for a cut and full highlight would be around $230. A little less if I only did a partial highlight. Alice was very nice and I really enjoyed my time in the salon. But I nearly had a heart attack when I checked out and the bill was $275 - partly because I was given some sort of treatment that I didn’t know I would be charged for. Then there was the color job. Initially, I thought it looked pretty good. But when I got home and took a closer look, I realized that the color had been applied pretty far away from the roots. I realize, of course, that you’re not supposed to let the color touch your scalp, but I’ve never had the color applied so far away from the roots. And in some areas, the color was applied much further away from the roots than other areas. It doesn’t look at all natural, just a bit sporadic. And even though it was just done a little over a month ago, it looks like it’s been six months, and I have to recolor my hair again to fix it. my husband is already asked me twice when I’m gonna fix my hair.
Again, Alice was very nice and a pleasure to spend time with. And the haircut she gave me was perfectly fine. Unfortunately, the color situation didn’t work out and the cost ended up being astronomical.
And this was definitely at the Upsy Daisy salon in Poulsbo. … Very nice owner.

I receive compliments everyday on how amazing is my new ‘do. Champagne problems, but I have a lot of naturally curly hair that I’ve never been able to maintain. I was in need of a hair makeover. Miranda is patient, caring and thoughtful. I feel 10 years younger with my new haircut and color. The salon is bright with sunshine.

The most outstanding esthetician among all of these professionals in the locations listed above is MaryLee Reynolds who works at the Upsy Daisy Salon in Poulsbo, WA. From the moment she greets her client with her genuine warmth and beautiful smile, the relaxation experience begins. The organic products are all lovely and although I am a fair, sensitive skinned redhead, I have never had any unpleasant reactions to the cleansers, serums, creams, and masks. Her massage work is exceptionally marvelous. I can't put into words how relaxing and restorative the entire process has been. The results are evident in the way my skin looks. I have received many compliments since I have been regularly getting facials with MaryLee. She is extremely knowledgeable about caring for and protecting the skin barrier and her suggestions have definitely been beneficial and apparent. The price is going up for haircuts and they weren't cheap to begin with. The biggest advantage to this salon is the organic products, but the quality of work is average. I've been a couple of times and both times my hairdresser was running late. I've tried a couple of the other services there as well and I felt they weren't worth the money either.

Went to Upsy Daisy Salon for a much needed/overdue Brazilian wax. I have been to quite a few other places and Marylee is my new go to. She was so welcoming and courteous. Although it went by quickly, she was still so thorough. I’m excited to go back and will be trying a vajacial eventually!Services: Body Waxing

I have been hesitant to share this review because I do not like to talk negatively about small businesses. However, I had quite the negative experience and it may be beneficial to share for people looking for a salon. I had an appointment for 10AM about a week and a half ago and I arrived 10 minutes early. When I arrived, no one was there expect the receptionist at the computer who told me my stylist had not arrived yet. She told me to go on into the Salon and the stylist would be right with me. It was very awkward because the environment is not very inviting, I had no idea what chair to sit at, and there was no music or anything. Complete silence. My stylist arrived at 10am and talked to the receptionist at the computer for 10 minutes while I sat in the chair in silence just waiting to be taken care of. She finally walks in at 10:11 pretty frantically like she had a rough morning. She kind of ranted about somethings before we started and I was pretty flustered and had a bad feeling from then on. Now let's talk about the hair cut experience. I booked a 65 dollar hair cut experience that I assumed would be a cut and style but obviously I was mistaken. I told her I washed my hair the night before so there was no need to wash it but usually my stylist would still go wet it. She did not. She just sprayed it lightly with water through out the cut. I went in originally wanting bangs however, I was getting a horrible feeling about it so I just told her I would like to thin out my hair. I told her she could keep it pretty long, just looking to thin it out and maybe some layering. Long story short, she cut my hair in a way I have never seen before and I had a feeling by the way she was cutting it that it would be uneven. Turns out, it was when I got home! She also kept asking "how does that look? How does that feel?" And I had to tell the professional that it was uneven. Fast forward to the end, she did not even blow dry it or style it at all and it was only 10:50! I still had 10 minutes left but she seemed in a rush to be done. I was trying to stay nice but I was very disappointed in the entire experience. I basically missed out on 20 minutes of my appointment because she was late and unprofessional. She told me I could call if I wanted to change anything but I really don't want this salon touching my hair anymore. In conclusion, I do not want to say that everyone will have this experience so I won't go as far as saying to not come here. They may have been having an off day but I was completely unsatisfied and I question the stylist's skills completely. I paid 50 dollars + 10 dollar tip for something I could of probably done myself. Hopefully, not everyone had this experience but I will personally not be returning.
