The vet technicians were catty, and making fun of my pets name. We had a test done on our cat and she was handed back to us without us knowing the final results, we assumed she was ok because we didn’t receive any bad knees but didn’t try and bother communicating with them

We came in to have my dog microchipped. The staff were friendly and kind and walked us through the entire process. It was also so easy to schedule and the appointment was fast! We will definitely be using this service again in the future!

I had a grooming appt today for 9:45. Showed up by 9:35, and see the store doesn't open until 10:00. So we wait until the store opens. There was another customer also waiting outside in the rain for their 9:45 grooming appt. We all go inside. They also the other customer to go in for their appt and now they are telling us that we are late and they cannot do our appt. The sales associate is rude and tells us we are late and cannot do our appointment. We were the first ones there waiting in the parking lot. Nothing in any of the email or text correspondence from petco told us we had to call the store when we got there so how were we or the other customer supposed to know that. They then say they will try to get us in but it might be a couple of hours and by this point because of all the commotion and others dogs coming in and out our dog begins to get excited so they tell us we can't come in at all for the appt. He only got excited because of their terrible customer service. We had to wait weeks for this appointment because of how booked up all groomers in the are are and now we can't get in. I do not recommend petco for their grooming services or because of their terrible customer service.

I have used the grooming services at Petco for about 6 years. The groomer I used left last year and the results have been hit or miss in 2022. Also, they have begun charging quite a premium if your dog has any knots on their coat. My small dog gets groomed there every month. I spent about 30 minutes brushing her the morning of our last visit. I even mentioned this to the groomer. When I picked her up and questioned why the extra charge, I was told she had 1-2 tiny knots on her belly. So, now we have to groom our dog before they groom the dog! Also, her haircut was uneven in several places, am I responsible for that too? I am planning to find another groomer ASAP. If you are raising the price just do so, and I do expect a better haircut.

The groomer is terrible. The store is fine. They always cut my dog way too short, and never cut the ear hair properly. I wish I could find another place in kitsap who are taking new dogs for haircuts, but can't find anything else. My poor dog was there for five hours today!! Waiting to get a haircut and in a kennel. There should be appointments for a reason. That's way too long in my book.

We were delightfully surprised to find the BEST grooming experience our dog has ever had. This PETCO store is okay, but our dog's groomer, Sunni was great. Our dog was nervous, as it was his first time at Petco, but Sunni understood and worked with him. Her attitude from the get go was just what you would want with someone grooming your dog: empathetic and positive. She was able to handle our 55 lb dog with no problem, allowing her to really clean up his paws (which he hates), spring clean his undercoat and returned him smelling and looking great. Thank you Sunni, we will be back!

This is not the place to take your dog for grooming (or any other service for that matter). The groomer was inappropriate with the initial interaction with our doodle and then refused to take her for grooming. The entire customer service experience was a nightmare. After reading the reviews I am so glad that we didn't leave her in their care. Will not step foot in this store again.

I have brought my dog in multiple times over the last year and a half only for Petco grooming to turn us away for various reasons. They don't advertise why they will turn you away, you get there and they are like no it doesn't look like your dog has all their vaccinations (which she does and she had them done AT Petco!) Nope your dog looks like she has a yeast infection in her ear so we won't see her. This is the 4th time, I'm done with this place. Don't bring your pets here. My dog is older but healthy and I'm tired of them finding every excuse not to bathe her, it's a bath no a doctors appointment.

not sure where to begin. had appointment yesterday for grooming . gave her meds for her anxiety. told them i did they stated they couldn't take her, no vet on site,. asked why they didn't tell me or have on website, she stated because people would bring them in and not tell them. i asked what if they do .. she stated if the dog laid down quiet they would call the owner to come and get them' so i took her back today. Shay the same women i dealt with yesterday seen me come in .i told her i was early she walked away, mind you she is no way warm and fuzzy. as a matter of fact she's like ice. she came around to get Fenway. and fenway growled. she stated she could not take her. i said why. she's aggressive. by no means is she. But Fenway knew she was not a nice person,. so we left. i'm glad i didn't leave her they could have hurt her. i understand rules and regulations, but if you work with pets you really need to love them. Pets know bad people. Shay also told me. I know you use to take her to wilco maybe you should take her back there, was not nice about it,. i wish i had read the reviews i would never have made an appointment. these reviews are very important, i worked public service for years. I would have gotten fired for talking to someone like that,. but in today's world people are not nice. people are cold and lazy. shay karma comes around . one day you will get bite animals no bad people. Please find another place to have your dog groomed. Customer service here needs improvement. Management should be on top of grooming department to be sure all dog owners are greeted and attended to in a timely and friendly manner.

On June 2 2021 at around 440 pm while shopping at the Poulsbo PETCO with my daughter who has leukemia and immune compromised had to prematurely leave the store due to an man in his middle to late 60s who was shopping with his presumed wife while violently coughing not wearing a mask nor bothering to cover his cough proceeded to cough all over the store merchandise and even approached a cashier while coughing. After I sent my teen daughter out to our hot car with the key in order to protect her from the man coughing violently I proceeded to the opposite end of the cash registerto in order purchase the items my daughter picked out for her pets and to avoid the violently coughing man and the droplets I seen flying from his mouth that he left behind. When I made mention of the very obvious and notable violently coughing man the cashier told me that there was nothing they could do except tell the man to 6 ft distance. Great! But what about the saliva droplets he left all over??? It's very disturbing that there is signage everywhere about 'protecting' the customer, and how 'safe it is to shop in Poulsbo' and how these stores are looking out for us and keeping us safe... yet you can't, rather won't do anything about individuals biologically assaulting your minimum waged staff and 'valued' customers. What a shame it would be to offend the ignorant people! I can't wait for COVID lockdown 2021!!! As always the decent and intelligent people have to keep the stupid humans alive! In closing, rules and laws are only as effective as those upholding them. Let's hope my daughter doesn't get sick! BTW this was the fist good day she has had in 9 months of chemo treatment, and it was cut short by some ignorant violently hacking biological assailant. Thanks PETCO for keeping us safe (sarcasm)! Needless to say I WILL NOT BE SHOPPING AT YOUR CHSIN OF STORES EVER AGAIN! For the rest of you... COVER or STAY THE F AT HOME! #THEDARWINAWARDGOESTO

Their budgies/parakeets are not well kept or monitored sufficiently for health issues. Last time I went in there was a very sad looking parakeet on the bottom of the enclosure, sick (puffed and motionless) absolutely covered in the other birds' excrement. The parakeets were the only birds they had in stock, so I'm not sure I understand why the deathly ill parakeet was on the bottom long enough to become covered in feces. I was also literally too stunned at how obvious and how dire the situation was to say anything (shame on me). I was in to take home a budgie of my own, and took the healthiest looking young'un I could find. Once home, he immediately showed signs of illness. Obviously, I'm not landing hundreds of dollars on a parakeet from Petco since they only cost $25.99 or whatever, but just because these birds are easy to breed and relatively inexpensive to keep does not mean they should be treated like disposable objects, which is what that big chain retail environment seems to do. The entry-level customer service staff are incredibly hit or miss at the Poulsbo location (they're either really caring, smart individuals or animal-inept people who obviously just needed a part-time job), but I found that the upper management was disingenuous at best, which is fine, and brusk and inflexible at worst, which is unacceptable given the quality of the rest of the mechanics of their store. Oh, and FYI, DoorDash does their same day delivery, and 2/3 of the drivers I've tried to use in the past month or so couldn't actually get a product from the store in Poulsbo to my house in Kitsap. I'm still waiting for a refund on one of those items. I got my budgie, and he's getting better now thanks to the antibiotics he's on, but no amount of return policy hoo-ha is worth seeing all of those birds being infected and then sold for dirt cheap.
