The vet I saw was an older fill-in and seemed to be able to use critical thinking rather than just ordering every expensive test possible and relying on testing to do their thinking for them. One reason I love seeing an older vet. I was not happy with the regular vet not returning my phone call the next day, despite me spending only 5 minutes with the vet the previous day and needing to ask a question pertaining to that expensive visit. I asked them to please call me back that day as I had important information pertaining to my visit the day before. I emphasized it was important and I wanted to talk with a vet not a tech. Still waiting for the call back a day latter. They also are quick to pre-charge you for tests that may or may not happen. So, now I have to get a refund for tests not done. They charge you for every little thing and their prices are no bargains. What happened to the old fashioned vets who actually used their minds instead of relying on labs and imaging studies to treat patients?

Worst experience imaginable thanks the Marissa. Shes all about getting money and cares zero for pets and pet owners. How is she the manager of anything. She is a mean and terrible person. They prescribed my pet incorrectly, and against my pets health, and she did nothing to correct it. Lied so I wouldnt be refunded by the warrenteed manufacturer of the treatment just to be mean. Worse they actually harmed my very sweet pet, and all she did was want more and more and more money. Stay away from this place. Worse clinic Ive ever seen, they do not know what their doing, but charge human prices for cheap things that dont have the same standards and are rough and terrible for pets.

1st time visit with my VERY fearful rescue dog. They were very kind and gentle with her. Dr. Jessica Larsen spoke to me about her future needs and asked questions about her history.

Watch out for hidden changes. I brought my cat in for a normal check up, she did not take her calming meds (which is typical, and never was a problem before.) I spoke to the vet's office about 6 times before the appointment as they kept changing the schedule. No one told me that it would cost an extra $400 to do a normal routine check up and vaccinations for that cat. Instead of just giving her a sedative as they alway do, they completely put her out, they put her to sleep and hospitalize her for 4 hours! "it is the new protocol." The tech kept repeating. If they are putting in a new protocol, than they should tell the customers BEFORE they are in the parking lot with two yowling cats!If you need to take your pet to the branch in Chimacum, don't go to Pet Townsend.

Pet Townsend Vet Clinic has given me consistently excellent service from the front desk, to the vet assistants and the vets themselves. Our little dog gets acupuncture which is not available everywhere. It is very effective for her arthritis. Additionally, the clinic advises on CBD and other natural remedies. Their sister clinic in Chimacum is also excellent. - Port Townsend resident.

I have been taking my dog to both Pet Townsend in Port Townsend and Chimacum Valley Vet in Chimacum for 7 years and have been very happy with the service at both locations. The staff are very gentle, knowledgeable, and the price is always reasonable. I completely trust my fur baby in their hands!

First of all, this is a review of the Port Townsend Veterinary Clinic and NOT the Chimacum Valley Veterinary Clinic. These clinics share doctors. The doctors are amazing. They are caring and knowledgeable. I'm reviewing the office staff. Now, the office staff at sister site, Chimacum Valley Veterinary Clinic is fantastic. Very welcoming, warm, knowledgeable. So helpful! They seem to really know what they are doing. However, my experiences with the office staff at the Port Townsend Veterinary Clinic have been nothing like that. First of all, the staff seems to be confused much of the time. They don't seem to understand what I'm talking about--for some reason they just don't seem to understand basic situations or have a hard time figuring out what to do. The staff at Chimacum Valley Vet Clinic is always so happy to talk to clients. They seem happy to be where they are doing what they are doing. Not so at Port Townsend Vet Clinic. The many times that I've been there I have felt like I was bothering them. I've noticed this same demeanor with other clients who come in. Phone calls and visits are seamless at Chimacum Valley Vet Clinic, but bumpy and awkward at Port Townsend Vet Clinic. I feel like they make every interaction more difficult than it needs to be. I'm never going to go there again--even though this vet office is closer to me than the Chimacum office. Too many bad vibes.

Waaay overpriced. Shop around a bit before you choose. Even a trip to Sequim Animal Hosp or the Petco clinic in Sequim could literally save you hundreds. Standard services like vaccines and microchipping should not break the bank.

My dog jumped out of the car window at 60mph and rolled down the road. It was bad. I raced her to Chimacum who just talked about a possible owee to her knee. They charged me $700 for sedation and XRays, but only XRayed her knee and chest cavity for a possible contusion. They sent me home with just an anti inflammatory and recommended leash walking for 4-6 weeks. I took her to another vet as she was obviously more injured than that. She had not only snapped her left pelvis to the point of disjoint within her cavity, fractured her right pelvis, fractured her spine and sacrum but also destroyed the femur ball joint to the point of being unrepairable. She has had to have major surgery to remove her ball joint and add a plate to the moving pelvis. She was in pain for 3 extra days due to the complete incompetence of Lauren Clarke, who didn't even think to check anything other than the knee and rib cage. Thanks god for real vets. But that's $700 lost to incompetence and 3 extra days of agony and stress for all.

Horrible clinic. You do not want to take your animals here! It's a money trap, and the doctors are not very skilled. I spent way to much here on my dogs toe nail and it is still not fixed. So I called them, for some professional advice they were rude, and just kept telling me to bring him back in. Definitely switch vets after taking my dog here just once!
