“Everything is done so so right - and its unique! We went up here for a romantic birthday for my husband and it was PERFECT. Great service, beautiful room, and fantastic location. We stayed in a room with a clawfoot tub and a circular window room facing the water. 10/10.Breakfast in the morning was delightful and meeting the other guests who were staying there was a great part of the whole retreat as well. It's close enough to town that you can walk into town and stumble back - but it's far enough away to be quiet at night. AND THE TOWN IS SO LOVELY - good eats, live music, friendly people.I can't recommend this place enough - book it before it now because it was completely booked up when we were there and is likely to be sold out before you know it so plan in advance :)”

“Our stay at Commander's Beach House was the first weekend of November in 3 of the offered rooms (Captain's Quarters, Lighthouse Suite and The Sunflower Room) and it could not have been more relaxing and peaceful! The two suites were massive and all three rooms were appropriately themed and well appointed. Natalie and Dave are fantastic hosts; they had coffee ready every morning by 7:30a and a hot, filling breakfast on the table by 9a (even working around 2 of our family members dietary restrictions). The House is RIGHT on the water, so you're never far from the amazing sound that is the sea lapping at the shore. Washington anytime of year can be unpredictable but we were fortunate enough to have "perfect" November weather and the proximity of the beach house to the main strip of Port Townsend allowed for many walks into town for sightseeing, shopping and meals. Don't fear should the weather be less than ideal as the house is fully stocked with board games. We could not have asked for a better location, hosts or weather and it will easily be a family trip we all remember for a very a long time. I would highly recommend you staying at Commander's Beach House if it's on your shortlist, you won't be disappointed!Rooms: We stayed in 3 of the offered rooms (Captain's Quarters, Lighthouse Suite and The Sunflower Room) and it could not have been more relaxing and peaceful! The two suites were massive and all three rooms were appropriately themed and well appointed. The house is very solid so we didn't hear much outside noise with all the windows closed (though why would you pass up the opportunity to hear the waves crash all night!).Walkability: Easy 5 minute walk to Port Townsend's main street and all that has to offer.”

“We spent a couple nights in one of the cottages and it was cozy and comfortable. We picked this room for the seating options it provided as we tend to spend a bit of time in our room crafting, so it’s important to have seating other than the bed-so this was a big check. The room feels a bit outdated, but when you look at the privacy of the cottage, location, and just being in Port Townsend it was easy to overlook this. Plus, the gentleman working the front desk was very nice and welcoming!”

“My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and had an amazing time. The room was beautiful and had an incredible view of the water. Had a lovely swim at a park just half a block away. So many surprisingly great restaurant choices. Slept with balcony doors open. And then woke up to great coffee and bagels flown in from midtown Manhattan from a coffee shop on the block. Definitely coming back. Love this place and Port Townsend.”

“Such a special and surreally beautiful place! Jenn is so kind and accommodating, and took us on a personal tour of the property when we checked in. We stayed in Cabin 4 which has huge windows/sea views, gorgeous sunsets, and a deck perfect for stargazing (The night sky views are mind blowing!) The king bed is super comfy, and there is a kitchen with everything you might need, as well as board games and puzzles. Everything inside and out is lovingly cared for. There is also a private beach with the prettiest little forest path leading up to it, and lots of seashells and cute birds and otters! You could honestly spend a whole trip on the property enjoying the views and taking walks along the beach. We adored our stay and will definitely be back next time we visit Port Townsend”

“Quaint Comfort with Snack PerksThe Washington, a delightful small hotel, surpassed expectations with its tastefully designed rooms, creating a cozy and elegant retreat. Located centrally for easy access to city attractions, the absence of breakfast is compensated by an array of complimentary snacks, making it a perfect choice for those who appreciate thoughtful hospitality and a touch of luxury.”

“Fun resort on the beach of Discovery bay. It's a good spot to head in virtually any direction and discover the peninsula. The resort has a beach and a dock with promises of fun fishing and crabbing, so bring your gear and licenses! If you're looking for food, Sequim is a short drive west and Fat Smitty's is just south of the resort, so you should have plenty of options.”

“We stayed here a few months back in the summer and had a wonderful time. Quiet, clean, affordable, vintage, with goats, chickens, cats, and a nice view of the nature preserve on the bay. Emphasis on affordable, we paid under $300 for four nights. Location is meh, off the side of a highway but you don't hear it much in the cottage, and be aware while there is plenty to see and do it can be a 10-20+ minute car ride away each time.We watched plenty of Scarecrow Video horror rentals on the little VHS/DVD player CRT TV. It was the perfect setting. One of their kitties visited us and kept us company in our cottage while we were packing up to leave. There is a (mostly) abandoned historic cemetery nearby that is so peaceful, and so many equally historic and gorgeous state parks. I have no idea when, but we will most certainly be back, this place was a real treat and a cheap hidden gem on the Peninsula.EDIT: I also wanted to say the power went out for several hours because a tree hit the line right nearby, and the owners were very attentive to the situation and let us know what was going on. Good honest hardworking folks own and run this place. Stop by and give them some support.”

“We were warm and cozy and enjoyed the view of the boats coming in and out of the harbor. The Pourhouse is a few steps to the north and on nice days their patio is unbeatable. Next door is a fabulous bakery.”

“Great price compared to most. Was clean and comfortable. The one downside was the bath towels were too small. Had a walking trail across the street. Had water views too.”
