I walked into Gallery 9 today and was set on buying some jewelry. The woman working there was on the phone, having a loud talk about the POS and training and speaking rather unkindly about an absent coworker. When I let her know that I had planned on buying jewelry, she informed me that I should have interrupted her phone call. I told her I didn't think I should have had to do that. "I'm doing BUSINESS!" Was her reply, and then, "BYEEEE!" She alienated a local who wanted to purchase local art. I won't be walking through the doors of Gallery 9 again. Sadly this is how local artists are being represented on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in PT.

You used to get a 5 star review from me. You used to be my go to art gallery. I used to recommend you to all PT visitors. Now youre a 1 star given your new penchant for getting political. Now, i wont recommend your gallery to anyone. And i certainly wont spend my money in your gallery. From one businesss owner to another, getting political with your customers is the fastest way to go out of business. Im rather sure youre trying to recover from the last 2 years. Getting political isnt the way to do it.

Every time I go to Port Townsend this is a must place to visit. Their unique quality of artistic items always are a pleasure to see. Usually I find more than one thing to purchase for myself or a friend.

Real easy to find and very bright and airy. This is a collection of artist works, each take their turn at managing the store for the day. We spend almost 45 minutes in the store, so much to look at and some worth a second and third look. In all honesty, we did purchase several items, so we do have a bias...but you may also find something, for there is something for everyone. Highly recommend gallery.

It has been a while since anyone has reviewed this gallery, so I am happy to provide an update. This is only one of the galleries in town. I have found that galleries are VERY popular in the little port towns where we have stopped. This one represents a number of local artists, loving what they do and struggling to make a living doing it. They had jewelry, water color paintings, oil paintings, woven work, wood work, and they play Beatles music to sing and hum along with as you browse. Yes, we did purchase 2 pieces and had them shipped home. Art is personal and we prefer to buy our art in a location like this. Hopefully our guests will appreciate them as much as we do. They were shipped together and arrived safely and have found new homes on our walls. Its nice to just visit and enjoy the creativity of others.

This gallery is amazing ...what talented artists. We fell in love with two hand carved maple bowls and were lucky enough to meet Chuck (cw) Stern who created them. We shall treasure these Chuck, thank you.
