My first time going today and it was a great experience. Staff was very friendly despite how busy it gotten. the process went smooth very thankful for everyone’s help. I moved here from a community that does the same thing and I am happy to know the kitsap area does the same thing so it’s so fulfilling to know there’s help in this community when you need it! Very impressed with the volunteers they do a great job. The food was great and it was nice that you are able to pick out of the many varieties they have. My kids and I are very Thankful to this community and glad we can always fall back on these resources when needed. God Bless these people for doing God’s work in ensuring no one goes hungry! Thank you South Kitsap Helpline

Most of the food was 6 months past expired freezer burnt or old holiday food that you can't even make a meal out of. Like they use what ever to fill your cart. Kinda sad especially for as much as I and so many people have donated over the years.

I have had nothing but good experiences with this food bank. Always as helpful as they can be. I appreciate everyone that volunteers and gives up their own time to help total strangers everyday. Thank you South Kitsap Helpline.

We are lucky to have such a nice food bank in Port Orchard. They are open noon to 5 and closed on Wed. Since Covid you cannot pick the food yourself but you can tell them if there are things you do not like and they try their best to accommodate. Two baskets a month and you can also get bread and pastries as often as needed from the baskets in the parking lot. There are always extra items to help with the holidays and back to school. If you are homeless you can choose between getting a basket or arriving everyday for a healthy bag lunch. They take donations of food or cash and people from the community can volunteer to help out there. Not sure why the green house is closed this year but it’s not open. The little White House on the property will help you apply for your food card but you still have to do the interview which is not at that location. You can do it over the phone though.

It is a sad day knowing that the helpline greenhouses are coming down. I spoke with Admin office regarding salvaging parts to create green house at my home and proudly grow fresh produce to donate back to helpline. The framework is finealthough I wl need to get replacement plastic parts as I was educated that the plastic needs to be replaced every two years. I will prevail and will succeed in order to help my community....not to mention the this would be most rewarding for me to do what I love for a greater purpose.

It's great that they provide such quality food to those poor homeless people! Most of them that I've talked to you receive around $800 per month and still aren't able to afford a room to rent! What is America coming to? If I made $800 a month on top of food stamps and still was able to eat at the food bank like the five people that I talk to you last time I picked up food for a friend, I'd be a drug addict like they are! Keep on giving it away your generous donations 2 those poor people, enabling those poor homeless drug addicts to sport the Dopeman!

Loving, helpful, and caring are how id describe the folks here , have helped people who are falling on hard times or just need some help . Only drawback is the parking lot ,however everything else makes up for it.

Everyone was so nice and sweet! I was so nervous and was expecting people to be rude and short tempered, especially since it's the last Friday of the month, but all of the employees/volunteers were all so sweet and genuinely helpful.

When no other agencies would help me--Jennifer at Helpline stepped right up! I will never forget her kindness at a very bleak moment in my life. THANK YOU!
