The staff here is absolutely incredible! Our dog had an allergic reaction while camping and they got us in immediately and treated her so kindly. I'm so thankful for their quick, thorough help!

I was terminated without any explanation and when I wrote an email to the practice owner and manager I was given 0 response. I am sharing my email here so maybe I'll be able to get answers this way. I truly believe it is because I was the only person of color in the work place. "Good afternoon, I'm writing this email now as I have had time to process this situation. It was incredibly difficult for me to in the moment because being let go completely blindsided me, especially when you could not give me a direct answer as to why. I pride myself on being a good employee & hard worker, I have never been put in this position before. I am always on time, I complete my duties and I am a team contributor. In the short time I've been there, I completed all of my training tasks and they were signed off. I was shocked when despite that, you used it as a reason for me not being a good fit. As the only black person in the office, I felt incredibly uncomfortable with many interactions I had there and because of that I started to anticipate something like this might happen. However, I did not expect something this severe. This compounded with you not being to articulate why you fired me, makes it clear to me that you and your team not only do not understand how to approach diversity in the workplace, you don't value it either. I hope that for the future of your employees and workplace, you address the need for DEI measures and prioritize protecting and advocating for marginalized workers. Workplace racism is a serious problem as it has consequences like this, a good worker being pushed out without explanation. I hope you can all take this as a learning lesson, even though I absolutely did not deserve this treatment. Sincerely, Bethlehem Lemma"

Absolute horrible experience when having to put my elderly furry friend down. Wasn't an easy decision but I knew it was time after she wouldn't get up to eat or drink for over 2 weeks and had to be carried outside to relieve herself. Her health had been declining for the past 4 months and I knew the time would come. She was my best friend and no one wants to make this type of decision. My grown sons and I had a FaceTime visit before the final day so they could say goodbye. I had set an appointment after explaining my decision. The day came and I was basically made to feel that I should consider testing to see why she was acting the way she was. She was over 10, (actual age unknown because she was a stray I had taken in). She's a French dog mix with Brussels Griffon. I was told early on that because of her hard breathing that anytime I put her under anesthesia that she may not survive. Trying a bunch of tests and possibly surgery wasn't something I felt would help at this point in her life. I was obviously in tears the entire time. I was never comforted in my decision. Only made to feel I should do more. It took 1 1/2 hours before my baby passed from the time we walked in the door. People were outside our door laughing and carrying on. Worst experience of my life!

One star for easy front desk communication and affordability. Everything else left much to be desired. This place bills itself as a holistic vet clinic, but there was literally not one iota of anything even resembling holistic medicine going on here. Just the standard fear-mongering and over-prescribing. No mention of alternatives to neurotoxic flea treatments, no exploration of foundations of health such as diet, water intake, etc. Tried to talk us out of testing our pet's antibody titers to determine if he even needed the vaccinations being recommended. Tried to sell us on several unnecessary medications that are not aimed at treating the root cause, but rather masking the symptoms (and which would likely lead to a host of side effects and worse health outcomes). It's just plain false advertising. Had I known what we'd be walking into, I would have sought care elsewhere. Granted, maybe it was just the vet we worked with, and others are actually holistic in practice. If you want pharma-based standards -of-care pet medicine, by all means go here. If you actually want holistic care for your pet, shop around.

Traveling through the area with my dog and, of course, an unknown (to me) thing starts happening with his butt while we're on trail. I was having a hard time reaching vets in the area but was able to get a hold of these folks. They were able to answer my questions, supported me remotely via photos, and followed up. I reached out the next day when there was a change and they were still responsive and providing support even though I couldn't be seen at that point. Overall super positive experience and very grateful they were able to guide.

Outstanding service! Brought my brand new kitty into this vet clinic, and was truly impressed. The assistant and Dr Highbarger were both very careful in their approach to this nervous kitty and took the time and trouble to soothe and work quickly. They were also very nice to me! Highly recommend.

It was an easy trip to the vet for our kitty even though COVID-19 restrictions were in place and she was picked up from my car and returned without my being able to be there with her. All staff communicated via phone during her exam and procedures. She returned relaxed and calm and has recovered from her health problem. Good experience for me as well. Thanks!

I love everyone at Chimacum Valley and Pet Townsend so much. You can tell that they put a lot of care into who they hire, because everyone there is so considerate and compassionate. Our cat requires daily sub q fluids due to a kidney problem, and when we do them at home he is always very wary of us and hides. Because I want to keep my bond with my cat, especially while he’s sick, I chose to take him in for sub qs. CVVH and Pet Townsend are the ONLY places that have shown genu

When I moved to Port Townsend (pop. just under 10,000) from Southern California, I assumed that I would have to reconcile myself to less sophisticated veterinary care. I was so wrong. The staff at CVH and its Port Townsend office, Pet Townsend, are simply superb, the equal and better of the specialty vet care I utilized in metropolitan Los Angeles. Dr Hightower is a superb surgeon; Dr Doll and Dr Dana W. are highly skilled and compassionate, caring and patient. I was sorry to see Dr Webb move for family reasons -- he was also a superstar. I am so grateful and relieved to have found this team of dedicated practitioners. I recommend both offices for any veterinary need.
