Poor leasing practices. Helped the bare minimum when something needed to be fixed. Including mold growing in the bathroom from a poorly designed bathroom and a broken fan. Tried to charge me over 300 dollars to fix a broken blind and laundry room doors, which were both in poor shape upon moving in. Trying to get more money out of me after taking my 1k deposit. These people are crooks, and they don't care about tenants

Properties by Landmark was a very good rental company to me. They have always been friendly, prompt, and courteous, whenever I had questions or concerns, both in emails and phone, and when in person at the office. They always get back to you in a timely manner and your needs are met. From my experience they will treat you with respect and kindness. I had rented from them for about 13 years and still would be, the only reason I am not now is because my apartment building sold, and the new owner decided to go with a different rental company. I and Landmark left on good terms. While no company is perfect, we are all human, I recommend Properties by Landmark for rental needs, they would be pleased to help you. For ones that wish to know how they are about deposits, I cannot comment on that, as I did not do a move out with them. I am still in my original place I rented, everything transferred over for me, however I have heard from past tenants who got their whole deposit back, and were treated well and fairly. So, don't be afraid to give them a try.

Landmark steals your deposit every time you rent from them. I rented from them for over 5 years and increases the value of the property significantly. I removed the 1960s shag carpet and put real hardwood thru the whole house except in the bedrooms where I put brand new carpet in. I replaced all the corrugated roofing that was cracking and falling apart on the back porch area. I hauled 6 pick up truck loads of trash and yard debris from the back yard to the dump. I shoved out a part of the back yard that wouldn't grow grass because of pine needles and put in 1 1/2 yards of gravel and built a really nice fire pit there. And reset the tiers that were falling down in the back yard as well. They kept my whole deposit. Then 6 yrs later sent me a bill for over a $1000 including last month of the electrical bill which I went and paid and closed out before I moved out of the property. They are thiefs and think that it is their responsibility to make sure the landlords don't have to refund your deposit.

Worst rental agency in port angeles. If I could give zero stars I would. Currently renting for landmark and my experience has been horrible. Looking to move ASAP. The staff are rude and unprofessional. They have ridiculous expectations. I thought getting an apartment was going to be a pleasant experience but even the other tenants are ruse and unpleasant. Currently looking for a new rental.

Kaila C. is incredibly rude and condescending. and despite working for a housing management company, she is completely ignorant of housing laws and has blatantly disregarded and broken them. Other staff have been pleasant and helpful, but there is an obvious lack of education on housing laws across the company. If only there weren't a housing crises in Port Angeles and had I had other option, I would not have gone with this company.

The hideaway mobile home park for seniors
This place is full of busy body trailer park bullies. There are a lot of nice features about the park but the bullies aren't one of them.
Steer clear of the place if you can. Alot of Elderly have been intimidated and bullied out of the place. Care givers have been run off and intimidated when they report. Witnesses in the park are intimidated if they speak up. There are several open APS cases and visits out there. Sandra Miller and her assistant/husband have been assigned as managers for this property .they are part of a toxic culture to the place.

Being a monopoly of properties in the Port Angeles area, they think they can get away with ripping people off. I've had a housekeeper for over a year and gave her the list of cleaning they expected. I asked to do a walk through after moving out, which they refused to do. My housekeeper did an exemplary cleaning job and yet they allegedly had to hire Clean by Carly to come in and clean. A 875 Sq ft one bedroom house that was empty and clean allegedly took 6 hours at $40 an hour to clean! Not a chance it took that long. My housekeeper is willing to testify in court as to the condition of the house, should I choose to go that route. They also hired a carpet cleaner, the same one they REQUIRED me to use earlier in the year. He allegedly said there was dog urine on the carpet and it required 2 ozone treatments. My dogs NEVER urinated in the house. My housekeeper will also testify to that. STAY CLEAR OF ANY PROPERTY THEY RENT! They are jerks when you ask them questions, they accuse you of things that are not your issues, and they keep your money. Additional issue the FHA had to step in on: I have 2 emotional support dogs. When I was renting, they had a form which was ILLEGAL, for my doctor to sign saying she would testify in court if it became necessary, that my dogs were emotional support animals! I was told by the FHA that they had issues in the past with Landmark and they had just re-educated them but would go in and re-educate them again. These people think they're above reproach. PICTURES OF HOUSE AFTER BEING CLEANED BY MY HOUSEKEEPER SHORTLY BEFORE THEY PAID SOMEONE TO ALLEGEDLY CLEAN MY HOUSE FOR 6 HOURS.

Horrible place, i had a professional move out cleaning of the apartment and a professional carpet cleaner renovate the whole place. I was still charged 2 hours of cleaning at $40 an hour. Crazy. Maybe alittle dusting off but still 2 hours for that? Robbery.

Maybe alittle dusting off but still 2 hours for that? Robbery. We'll anyhow, the staff were somewhat helpful during my stay. For a short 5 months I was in, they kept $250 from my deposit. Even telling me that i dont need to hire a cleaning company to do a move out cleaning, tell me why? So they can overcharge you on your deposit. Out of all the places i rented, this was the first place they told me that i dont need to. Seems sketchy. "Minor cleaning still needed" wow

After renting with landmark 12 years 10 out of 12 had been pleasent ONLY by ***** and **** management in ******. After they left.***** (owner of Landmark) and daughter ***** (under management)Hiring ****** Agent (***************************) aka (Coog)Owner of failing ( budget tape and Records) Started to destroy family homes with aillegally, harassment, discriminationttempting to raise rent , and illegal stalking/preying on families.Forced out on the streets of fear of these Landmark owners and employees continuing to illegally impose faulty conditions for many adults with minor children. Some family's chose to vacate out of unknown fear, others fought for tendency rights and won cases against Landmark! Since having unfortunate situations Landmark countless times continues to make family's uncomfortable deciding to vacate merely to keep this turmoil away from children.Unable to leave reviews on ****** of current years. Any positive review all date back 5-6 years ago.Completely inaccurate!

Unfortunately, this app doesn't allow 0 stars. Upon renting a small 1 bedroom apartment in downtown PA from this management company everything seemed to be fine. The apartment was clean, the service could have been friendlier, but they know that the area is monopolized and owned by a handful of companies and families, so they probably aren't concerned. From what I have been able to find out, the mother is an owner, and the daughter is the individual charged with the management portion of leasing arm. They are fully aware of the housing crisis in the area, therefore have no incentive to do the right thing, or be honest people. I did not expect this type of treatment from them. Throughout the lease, the maintenance man was phenomenal, any problems, he showed up to fix quick. Thats about the best thing I can say. Homeless people were living and shooting up in the area assigned as parking, and the entrance stairwell to the building. I raised this concern several times with a now former employee of theirs, and no resolution was provided. We explained that the homeless people were going through the trash and leaving it strewn about the property, leaving needles in the parking lot, and nothing was done to address it. You may be wondering "what can the management company do?" They could have called the PA PD and reported them for trespassing and the police would have been required to at minimum help the homeless population get into a local shelter. Even more issues arose upon move out. We were hit up for a cleaning fee after we paid a professional company to clean the entire apartment and leave it in better condition than when we found it. I've attached photos that were sent to me that indicate, according to them, an apartment so dirty that it took another professional company an additional 2 hours to clean. It's a 1 bedroom, roughly 300-400 sq Ft apartment. The fee is exclusive of the additional $150 fee we were charged before move in to clean the carpets. Even the check out report stated "very minor cleaning to be done" which indicates that maybe there was a fingerprint left behind, or dust that was missed. We were not provided any after photos of the cleaners after they "cleaned" the apartment. According to the conversation I had with the manager of the properties this was the reason for the charge: "Attached are photos from your move out, that were the items the cleaner was asked to clean. The crumbs in and under the stove drawer, few spots in fridge needing to be wiped out, wiping down both faucets and water marks on sinks, dirty spot next to stove and crumbs on stove, I can get a statement from the cleaner as to the pet hair, which also has to be vacuumed up due to the carpet cleaner not vacuuming. Normally takes the brush attachment to the trim while vacuuming carpets. Also the bills from your move-out for your information and confirmation the city was paid out of security funds. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Have to send a 2nd email due to size." I have attached the photos that the property manager sent us to justify the 2 hour cleaning charge. I'll let you decide how absolutely filthy this place was left in the wake of our obvious dirty life. Having lived in several states and cities over the past couple decades due to the military, and maintaining a classroom of 6th graders, we obviously have no idea what's required to clean. In addition to all that, at no point we're we informed that they would pay the utility bill on our behalf due to some sort of city of PA requirement, and then leave a negative remark as if we attempted to skate on our responsibility to pay our bills. Overall, I would encourage you to avoid doing business with this company. If you must do so, please go in knowing that regardless of how honest you are, that honesty may not be returned. Again, not our photos. These photos were sent to us to show the dismal state of the apartment upon our vacating.

The most unethical malevolent business in town. Ask any former renter and you will hear horror stories from hell.
