Small Town store so some items are expensive. Is very clean! Seems to cater to the locals. The person who helped me was nice to me, but impatient & kinda rude to the child behind me.

Need to put together a quick picnic on your way to the beach??? Wow, what a great selection! I had not stopped here in a few years and was pleasantly surprised at the huge selection for such a nice little clean store! The staff was great and very helpful and friendly! I asked how they managed to have such a great selection at good prices? They told me they are supplied by the same company that Safeway uses!!! You could easily do all your grocery shopping here and not have to $pend the money on gas to get all the way into a bigger town. If you are passing through stop and grab a snack or cold drink, there is so much to choose from as well as hot food too!

Be AWARE of smoking utensils as I purchased one for over $25, got home to the pipe not working. Completely defected, and owner wouldn't accept return'. Said going forward check product for defects before purchased. Sorta hard to hit the weed and checkin store. I suggest going somewhere else.

Pros: The store is extremely well organized and clean. It offers a public bathroom and fresh fried food in a hotbox!Fresh produce is always available!Depending on the item. You can possibly request a specific item to be added to the store. (In my case was requested my favoriteJones soda flavor to be added!)----------------Cons: most employees do not care if you wear a mask or not and will not kick you out if you refuse to wear one. Some make snide remarks if you do wear one and will appear angry at you for doing so.. Big heath hazzard.Prices are inflated quite a bit for a store this size.

I went there just to get a gallon of water before the store closed, and the clerk was just giving me the stink eye and once I went to pay for my stuff she asked me credit or debit, and well I never heard of that question before but was like neither, and she just snapped back like "CASH!" She then just threw the 5 dollar bill in the cash register without even putting it in the right place and she just kept sighing and pouting. I'm definitely not going there again anytime soon and I would highly recommend going to the Texico just down the road from it instead.

This place is certainly convenient (and if you're passing through PE Ell and need a "rest(room) stop", it's pretty much your only option). The guy working behind the counter when I went in a couple of days ago was friendly, the restrooms were clean, and the prices on the three items that I bought were reasonable and actually on the lower end. Because of these things, I'm only docking one star for the peanut butter Twix. Yes, I bought one; I hardly ever see them. Today, I started to eat one of the bars and noticed that the cookie part was VERY crunchy -- as in, hard-as-a-rock crunchy. I checked the wrapper for a "best by" date, expecting to see some date this week or possibly even a few days ago. Instead, I noticed (much to my horror) that the "best by" date was sometime in April (four months ago). YUCK! Granted, I could have looked for the date before purchasing, but ... I generally don't think to check such things while shopping, as I'd like to think the stores are on top of keeping their items fresh. In fairness to PE Ell Country Market, they're not exactly the first store to sell past-date or close-to-date items. And of the other two items I grabbed, one is good until November, and the other -- well, I ate it yesterday and didn't check for dates; but it at least didn't taste stale, so it was (probably) fine. I definitely don't want to encourage people NOT to stop here. Just, if you feel like buying a candy bar, you might want to check the date first!
