The Pet Works takes wonderful care of all their animals, aquatic and not. They have an amazing selection of items for all sorts of animals and the employees are very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The person usually in the reptile section was super helpful with the purchase and care of my sister's ball python. And the aquatics section is the best I've ever seen. All the animals are happy and healthy in tanks suited to their needs. I love the aquatic plants for sale in that section too. The two people usually in that section are so polite and helpful for anything you might need. By far the best pet store I've ever seen!

DJ did an amazing job on my dog’s nails which can be a tricky task. Store staff were knowledgeable and helpful. This is my new go-to place for all things pets!

This review is for the self bathing area of the store. I have not actually had a shopping experience in the store, I have only used their self bathing area.We were from out of town, and decided to pop in here for an impromptu self dog wash for our dogs, and we regretted that we did.It was a terrible experience. The self bathing area was beyond filthy. I mean, its one thing to be filthy because there are dogs being washed, etc., but its another to not even attempt to clean the area. The floor was soaking wet, and no one was making an attempt to dry it. I almost slipped and fell twice. The bathing stations are old and outdated. There were no towels to be found whatsoever to dry the dogs. There were not leash restraints that help keep the dog in the tub to be found either.The drying area is horrendous and horrible. It is a small constricted area, and makes it very hard to dry your dog. It was so awful. This is one of the worst self bathing stations I have ever been to, and I have been to several in various places.In addition to that, the staff was not very friendly. I would not recommend The Pet Works for their self bathing area, that is for sure. The only thing good about the self bathing was the price of it.

They have really reduced their saltwater corals and frags. I'm not sure what happened but I was saddened to see this. I had some health issues and hadn't been in a while. :(

If your best buddy (dog) needs a good bath. This is the place to go in Olympia. The Pet works self wash is great. Every thing you need, shampoo, conditioner and towels are included in the price. We have a rather big boy (Labrador /Great Dane mix) and it is very hard to get him clean after a fun day at the park, where he likes to get in to everything and any thing, at home. So we were very happy when we found that Pet works Tubs are big enough for him and that you dont have to make an appointment. It is 1st come 1st serve but with 5 wash stations we have never had to wate more than a few minutes. So happy to have a place to get our puppys clean in Olympia.

Looking for fish for my pond. Found a tank in the back that seemed to have what I was looking for but it was unmarked and there didn't seem to be anyone around to ask. Not even a hello the whole time we were there. What a waste of time.

I have never seen a pet shop as bad as this one. I used to run an exotics pet store. They do not carry feeders for larger reptiles, you have to be put on an order list for rat pups! How can you sell animals that need this size meal if you don't even carry the feeders for them! I also am an exotics Animal Nurse for 30 years. This place is a joke. They also never have anyone to help in the fish department, you have to go look for someone to assist you!

Their prices are good, they have excellent products and their staff are fun and helpful. Their groomer, Marissa, is the best, especially for wiggly standard poodle pups. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
