I asked two workers who were chatting if they sold mite treatment for cats. I asked in a normal polite tone. The woman's additude was SO off. She scoffed at the question , all bug eyed and haughty. She kept reiterating her answers in condescending ways. After I had said "Okay. Thank you." She would repeat the answer as if I didn't hear her, even though I acknowledged her answer. I decided to ask what "chewing lice" is, in the flea, tick, chewing lice treatment I was holding. She looked at me like I was stupid and barked "it's LICE. Like YOUR lice." While looking at me head. ? ... Uh Okay? I said "Oh it's not for me. It's for my cats. It's a cat treatment." She was bug eyed and didn't say anything. I then looked at the male employee who was clearly embarrassed by her behavior and said "Thank YOU" while gesturing to him, and then smiled at her and walked off. I always set things back in their spot on the shelf but I just tossed it on a random shelf as I walked away. Seriously, what a brat. Eye rolls, scoffing, condescending, rude. Clearly you hate your job and can't be bothered by a customers simple questions. I hope she finds herself someday. Good luck ?

ALWAYS CHECK ONLINE before heading to the store! THE PRICES online are SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT than shown in store so you must pull up the online listing and show it to the cashier in order to get that price. This has been the case every time I have needed to buy something there that I needed immediately. An item priced $35. on the shelf was $27. online.

All of the employees here are wonderfully helpful and friendly. I won't shop at any other pet store because of how much I appreciate the team here. They genuinely care about my pet and they give the best advice. The store is always clean amd well stocked too. You guys have me as a customer for life!

We bought Betta fish. We bought tanks in the store specifically advertised for them. They sell them in plastic Tupperware dishes with no heat, no filter, and they do not tell you anything about them when you purchase them. To someone who doesn't know, just looking at how they are displayed appears as an easy, low maintenance pet. We had no idea they needed a tank bigger than the 2.5 gallon one they have there advertising specifically for betas, we had no idea they needed heat, we had no idea that they needed to come up for air or that certain decorations are bad for them and can make them sick or harm them. They let us walk out of there with $250 worth of products and didn't help or correct us on what we were doing or educate us in any way about the animal like they did when we almost bought a lizard. Our fish died the next day. Shame on me for not doing the research and shame on Petco for all the misleading and for selling products to set us up for failure and sadness.

It was a little hard to breathe in this place. The odor of pet dander was strong and hit you immediately as you walk in the door.

Unfortunately, I won't be returning to Petco, on Black Lake Blvd in Olympia WA, due to a recent experience. Tori, the GM, refused to refund three kinds of pureed or pate wet kitten foods that my kitten Bridget refused to eat. Another mgr (Sara) picked them out for me at my first visit to her store. She recommended all 3 for Bridget because she just licks the wet food juice and leaves the rest with canned foods that I have tried. Bottom-line. Sara told me I could receive a refund if my kitten didn't eat them, but today I was told without the opened uneaten kitten foods I would not receive a refund after all. I explained that I was unaware of this and that I had a long appt and didn't want to leave them in my hot car. I live a distance from Petco, so I would have to drive all the way home and back again to get the opened and uneaten foods still in the refrigerator. The refund only amounts to $5, and I intended to purchase additional items today, but apparently my business for all my pet needs isn't worth an exception in this case. Shame on you for losing a customer. I won't be back. Having worked in retail for years with consistently high customer feedback scores, my philosophy has always been .."Before you can build a sale you have to build a customer". Now I will go elsewhere. Major fail, Tori.

The care animals receive here is sad. Pretty much all of their bettas had severe bloat from over-feeding, sky high ammonia, fin rot, swim bladder damage, etc. Do better Petco. These are living creatures, they’re not disposable.

I just learned that Petco charges an 8.00 fee for bringing your own shampoo to be used on your dog. My dog has sensitive skin and the product they use makes her itch for 2 to 3 days after her bath. The hypoallergenic stuff we buy doesn't bother her, so we have them use our stuff. When I asked the groomer about the fee she said "it takes longer" to use shampoo provided by the owner. I know it's a luxury to have petco groom my dog, but they are already getting me for 70 to 100 bucks for a bath, haircut, nail trim, 8 bucks to use MY shampoo seems excessive.
