They have everything you didn't know you needed. Wonderful people.

This store has an "old-timey" feeling that's a very appealing alternative to Home Depot and the like. My only complaint is with the demeanor of certain front of store employees who seem like they'd rather be anywhere else-- no smiles, no greeting, no "how can I help you?" I'd love to have a go-to hardware store that doesn't come in a big box so I'll still shop at Olympia Supply. When I do, it would be nice to feel like someone's glad I walked through the door.

New ownership has drastically changed the atmosphere in what used to be a welcoming, helpful local business. At 4:15pm I called to make sure we could get a fishing license, was told we had until 5pm to come in and get it (they close at 6). Made it by 4:35pm and when we asked who to see, we were rudely informed the one person who issues them wasn't there. When we explained we spoke with someone 15 minutes prior who confirmed we had until 5pm, we were snapped at and and sent to a side room with mumbles over her walky talky to summon someone she insisted wasn't there. We then tried to talk to the other worker who answered the phone-he had no concept of time. She appeared high on something, and unable to carry a conversation, let alone conduct business. I'm stunned by their rudeness and absolute inability to conduct business or have any semblance of professionalism.

A great alternative to the big box stores. They usually have what I need, and there's been a few times that they have things that the big stores don't. And unlike the big stores, they actually have plenty of helpful staff members to assist when I need help.

A fantastic place for tools, parts, and plumbing supplies! I came in here for a plumbing piece, and when I started to describe it to them they knew exactly what it was and where it was in the store. A quick and easy stop!

I came in recently for a small part. As I was checking out a couple of the workers including the woman running check out were filling another customer's curbside pickup order. The woman running checkout caught my eye and said, "Who invented curbside pickup anyway? FAT PEOPLE?!?" Then she laughed loudly. I told her that was very rude, inappropriate, and fat-phobic. She said she was just kidding. I reminded her that people need curbside pickup for all kinds of reasons, often health related. She said, you're right. She never apologized for her horrible statement. I'm overweight so this cruel "joke" seemed aimed at me. I am very disappointed because I enjoyed supporting this local business, but I don't feel comfortable coming back.

Great service with the feel of an old time hardware store. You can actually get help that knows what they're doing.

Great local place. I needed a lightbulb for an old flashlight and they had one in stock at a very reasonable price.

Historic hardware store in downtown Olympia. They have almost everything! Their inventory is even more wide ranging than it was back in the day, with the exception of a few things in the pipe fitting department.

Have genuine Atlas gloves, not knockoffs like everybody else. Better equipped than the westside location and worth the trip. Wasn't always an ace, but has taken the transition in stride.

Staff and selection are great, but prices are a little high and parking isn't free

Super well stocked hardware store, even by non-big-box hardware store standards. Staff is accessible, helpful, and friendly. Realize there are two rooms to this store, the back room seems to be a lot bigger. So if you don't spot what's on your list in the room you enter from the street, go through the double doors & check the further back room. Or just ask one of the rather abundant staff, who will likely lead you to the appropriate section.

Have lived a couple blocks from this place for almost five years. Honestly, I have never been disappointed when I go there looking for whatever random thing we need. They even had car oil. That one surprised and saved me. The one star loss is only for the customer service. It's not when you ask for specific things because they're always very helpful. It's just the counter service. They just always seem super disinterested. Might just be an Olympia thing. Lived here most of my life and Olympia folks are a little slower paced. We will still keep coming back.
