I had a really frustrating experience dealing with Diane at the downtown Olympia location, she was extremely unhelpful and asked personal and unnecessary questions that felt derogatory. I had the opposite experience when I visited the location on Harrison Ave; on several occasions they were able to clear things up immediately, with no issues. I decided to close my account with Olympia federal on behalf of the difficulties I received from Diane, and the confusion it brought when I was able to be assisted so quickly at the other location.

Slow and unprofessional. They messed up my construction loan annitially costing me extra $$$$. They didn't want to believe I could afford a construction loan. Inexperienced loan agents 100%.Also to put the cherry on top. They actually handed me over another members confidential information then called me frantically trying to get it back they shouldn't of made that error in the first place. Super unprofessional.I would never go here for another loan or banking in general.

I am a 33 year active duty military member who applied for a Home loan with Olympic Federal Credit Union. I have a 780+ credit score and was putting 20% down. I locked my loan in at 4.1%, just before the feds raised rates again the next week. We had just paid for and received the $900 appraisal (later we found out that an appraisal wasn't even required on a home that was only a year old). At this point, they now wouldn't do my loan without some property clean up of old vehicles, a home inspection, and a requirement to put funds in escrow to do cosmetic repairs in the home, even though the home had just received a certificate of occupancy in 2021. I was also told by my loan officer, Rachel Rudenski, that her team had a meeting and the consensus was "this really isn't the property that they want to have a mortgage with." We truly believe all of this was done so that they simply did not have to to honor the 4.1% rate...coincidently enough, rates had rose to +5% by this time. Subsequently, we went to another lender with the same appraisal (which they said wasn't even required) the next day and closed in less than 2 weeks... Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation to the rescue!! Karen Orr was great! I would advise anyone trying to get a home loan to think twice about using Olympic Federal Credit Union. It is my opinion that they are more interested in maximizing profit rather than securing a loan for someone that is exceptionally qualified. You may find yourself incurring numerous additional costs, at a higher interest, and an unusually long time to close. Consumer beware.

Worst bank! No knowledge of anything. Worked with ANGIE in the loan department at the yelm hwy location. Trying to get approved for a small personal loan for start up costs. Told me I need to make 25,000 a month to get a 50,000 loan with a 710 credit score after she pulls my credit! Who needs a loan when you make that much a month?!?! Makes no sense! She didn’t even have the decency to call me to tell me I wasn’t approved after I called and left her messages. She Had the manager call me. He stated she should’ve told me income requirements of at least 17,000 a month to qualify! Even that’s insane! Better off going to a credit union where I’ll be taking my business! ?.***UPDATE****. I was approved instantly at WSECU!! ❤️❤️

I have been banking at a Olympia Federal Saving since I was 15. This is by far the best local bank, maybe even world wide!! First off the staff is fantastic! Casey has turned out to be a trusted family advisor. When my daughter needed a guiding hand, he helped take the complex financial world down to small bites. Casey made the time to sit with her help explain the value in saving and spending. The rest of the staff is very competent. I have 4 rental properties and several complex accounts and the staff in all locations have been able a willing to go the extra mile! I had my wallet stolen and Oly Fed was amazing at protecting me. And they are always contributing to local events! Love this bank!!

Closed my account because they claimed my coin rolls were "short". However they were ones I had purchased from them a week prior. I'm glad to find out that this bank is dishonest before before they got a hold of my home loans which I had planned on going through them.

I love the staff at Oly federal, I've taken multiple loans over the years to purchase homes and have accounts there, the staff has always been helpful and pleasant. A few years ago I took out a construction loan purchase and remodel my house and had heard this type of loan is a nightmare to acquire, but I didn't experience this with Oly fed. one of the previous reviews mentions that their loan closed two weeks late and anybody who has taken a home loan post 2008 knows that's now the norm with every bank, thank you.

Do not ever try to close a loan with these people. In 24 years in real estate, 8 have never experienced this level of ineptitude.
