I've been using this business for dog grooming for nearly 30 years. The owner (Carol) and her team are hard-working and dedicated to making the grooming experience as comfortable and non-traumatizing as possible for the dogs. The business itself is nothing fancy to look at, but the results are consistently high quality.

A Severe Lack of Professionalism and Courtesy Mars Pet Store ExperienceMy recent encounter with this local pet store was marked by unprofessional behavior and a disconcerting lack of courtesy. I initially contacted the store to schedule a grooming appointment for my dog, which included both a bath and a haircut. However, the situation quickly turned sour when the manager inaccurately insisted, "He said bath only."The manager's tone insinuated that I had been dishonest about my dog's grooming needs, which was far from the truth, and I don’t even know why I would lie about something like that. The manager, an elderly lady who I was informed had hearing difficulties, had initially taken my call. When she struggled to hear me amidst the store's ambient noise, she yelled at her staff, "I can't hear him, keep it down," and then asked me to hold the line.Subsequently, another staff member took over the call and continued with the booking. However, when I corrected their assumption that I had requested a bath-only service, this second staff member also adopted an antagonistic tone, implying that I had disrespected the "70-year-old owner with hearing aids."The hostility escalated to a point where I felt it best to seek out a different pet store. In response, the staff member became even ruder. I do empathize with the challenges that come with customer service, but there was a distinct lack of professional tact in handling a simple miscommunication. If you resort to accusatory behavior instead of acknowledging a misunderstanding, I must question whether customer service is a suitable field for you.In conclusion, I was left with a bad impression of the store and a firm resolution not to return unless the customer service improves significantly.

My golden retriever always comes back looking perfect. They treat her right. I've taken my pup to other groomers and they butcher her fur.I simply stopped looking around and stay with Capital City Groomers.

The groomers are experts at their profession and they take exceptionally good care of the dogs entrusted to them for grooming. It is clear that they love the dogs they groom and they know how to make them look and feel their best. I have taken my dogs there for years and have never been disappointed. These are people you can trust.

I called to make an appointment for my dog and the lady has trouble hearing and I hit on saying that she doesn't understand my language, the truth is they need professional people to speak with kindness, because the clientele is going to leave her, due to her behavior towards others. I hope dont put her noore speak whit people and stop be racist.

I had a good experience, employees were polite and they groom well. The price is affordable and quite cheaper than other places. Definitely will return.

This business is rude, mean and have terrible customer service and I'm sure you treat my dog like you have treated me. You've lost my business. Bitches who act like bitches. I advise you to find a different groomer!!!

They are absolutely so rude! I will never take my dogs there again, and I refuse to tell anyone that they are a decent place. They are not. On multiple occasions they were rude and poorly handled my dogs. The last and final time I took my dog they kept my dog for over 8 hours and it was past closing time then when I showed up because I had called twice and had a very rude lady say they "just weren't done and we said we will call you" they slammed the door to where my dog was. Left us sitting in their waiting room for 15 minutes before the owner/manager, whomever she is came out to tell us how busy she is and it's normal for them to keep dogs that late. Meanwhile, the one in the back with my dog whom we can hear quite well slammed a kennel door, popped her head out and said "I just can't! I can't work with her anymore because they showed up" I was very appalled by their words, actions and manners. I stated I wanted my dog, we payed and they still asked "no tip?"Yeah right..I am so very very thankful I no longer will ever go back and I now found my forever groomer elsewhere locally!Very POOR job Capital City Grooming!

I wish I had read the reviews before scheduling an appointment. The prior 1-star reviews of this business are absolutely accurate. Is scheduling hard? Yes. If you cat isn't a prior customer, you won't get an appointment. Is the lady that manages the front desk rude? Absolutely, and unnecessarily so. Did we arrive on time for our appointment? Yes. Did our cat get groomed? No. 3 hours after our 10am appointment, she still hadn't started grooming our extremely docile cat, and they couldn't tell me when she would be done. During that 3 hour time, I went for a walk around the neighborhood, only to return to my car to find a nasty note from the business stating that I was not to park in their parking lot and that they had my license plate number and that if I did it again they would have my car towed. This parking "rule" is not posted anywhere in the parking lot, and we were never informed by the business that we could not park our car in their parking lot while our cat was begin groomed by them. In the end, our cat never did get groomed. I just took her home, ratty fur an all.

If you rank the Yelp reviews based on "most recent", this review should come right after Megan K.'s. I I was prompted to write a review today, based on how I was treated. Turns out, I was there to witness Megan's phone call, while I was waiting to talk with the groomer (whom I think is the owner). I don't know Megan K., but I sure sympathize with her. I saw/heard how Megan was spoken to--but I can't say I was surprised. I've been taking my dog there for years, and I don't think there has been one single time when the groomer said "Thank you", despite my long history of 20% tipping (and no "you're welcome"s either, when I have said, "Thanks". Okay, no niceties, but they don't charge a lot, and I liked their drop-in policy for nail clippings. After the phone call the groomer had with Megan ended, the unpleasantness continued onto me. I was told no more drop-ins for nail trims, because they are overwhelmed with clients. And even though I've been a customer for four+ years, through Covid, there will be no appointments made for nail trims. And none of this said nicely, or apologetically. Well, I guess I'm not a customer any more. I should've pulled the plug years ago, but I was willing to put up with a brusque manner to save money. I'm sorry the groomer was feeling so very stressed, but, wow, that was a lack of customer service (to me and Megan) that hit an all time low. If anything comes of this, I hope it's a realization that other people appreciate being treated with civility.

Wow I don't think I've ever been treated so rudely in my life. I called to make an appointment for my pet and explained to whomever answered the phone that I have been there before, although it had been awhile. The lady said they aren't taking new clients. I asked if she could look up my pets as I had already mentioned we HAD been there. I was trying to explain my willingness to schedule further out as its harder to find places that groom kitties but before I could finish she practically screamed at me "WE AREN'T TAKING NEW CLIENTS!!!" Taken aback by how I was just spoken to I was lost for words, and she hung up. How is this place still in business with that kind of customer service?! Makes me wonder how they treat the poor animals if they think that's an okay way to treat their patrons.

10/10 would not recommend. Poor customer service, every time I tried to call the front desk the lady was completely rude. I would ask an estimate of when my cat would be done and she would give me one answer and it was “I don’t know”. My cat had a 12:00 appointment and wasn’t done until 5 pm. There’s no reason it should take 5 hours for my cat to get groomed. And they did the opposite of what I wanted for my cat. I wanted her belly trimmed because she is long haired and they completely shaved her stomach. I’m so disappointed. Never again will I take my cat there.
