Cutest bookstore downtown. They sell new and used and will even give you credit for any books they buy back from you. Super worth it!

Browsers is my favorite bookstore. It is my happy place and I love to just wander through even if I am not intending on buying a book. I have since moved away, but still follow the shop on Instagram (they do a great job with social media!) and follow the owner’s newsletters (if you aren’t signed up, you should be!). Every year my family buys me gift cards to browser’s so I can order and have the booksellers ship to me. Every aspect is done with such care and love!

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to talk books and point you to new finds. And as a local writer, I've found them to be supportive of local artists of all kinds.

It’s a shame that the prior commenter only arrived a few minutes before closing to shop. As the name states, it’s Browsers. Therefore you need time to “browse” and since it was during the Procession, you need to expect it to be busy, etc. As a customer, we also need to be respectful.I go often and know that ALL staff are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, especially Jeanette who has helped me many times. They have taken the time to get to know me and my preferences. I have purchased and read all of the recommendations and love them!Go see for yourself. This place is amazing!

Visited today for Procession of the Species, so the biggest business day for Downtown. Ducked in after the parade and was reminded constantly that they were closing in ten minutes with practically minute by minute countdown. I’ve shopped there for years, I’ve worked retail, I’ve worked retail on that same street during the parade - I’ve never treated customers so rudely. Deciding to adhere to normal hours aside, the way it was handled was very obnoxious and I will not be returning as a customer. Loved it as a store, but I don’t need to support a vanity project.

Dreamy. Bookstore heaven. Staff is knowledgeable and can help locate whatever you're looking for. They hold events, art upstairs, a definite pride & staple of Olympia

** BEST bookstore **In my opinion, this is the best bookstore in the PNW. When I think of the movie "You've Got Mail" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, this is exactly the kind of bookstore I imagine Meg Ryan owns in that movie. It has so many popular books. There is also a fantastic collection of E. Francis stationary. They have cute washi tape, pencils, and other stationary brands as well. There is a small upstairs with cooking books. They may hold reading events there? I also snagged a cute cloth bag with my purchase. We now use it for our packed lunches. Free branding for Browsers Bookshop. I'm not paid...yet!I could spend hours here. They have a nice children's section. Bring your kids, bf/gf/other- or just yourself and get lost in the world of literature at Browsers Bookshop. Can't wait for my next trip to Browsers!

A bigger-than-it-looks local bookshop with helpful, knowledgeable employees - ask for a recommendation from one of the team if you aren't sure of the perfect gift and you won't be disappointed. It's such a refreshing alternative to the huge booksellers with staff who cannot give an opinion or summation on any of their offerings. They carry a good selection of locally and regionally relevant books while still offering the best sellers, and will quickly order in anything you don't find on the shelf. There is also a nice selection of bookmarks, puzzles, stickers, and paper and pens if you need to round out a gift or just want something special to take home.

This is the best bookstore in South Puget Sound. It is one of the nicest places to shop in Downtown Olympia for sure. Great selection - nice staff.
