Tried this place for a takeout group lunch for work. Items made to-go come with one green and one red salsa packages inside. Each meal was packed individually, which was super helpful.

We both got the Aztecs plate. It was very good! It had a great chili relleno, enchilada, tequitta, beans, rice, guacamole and warm flour tortillas on the side. There was also a side bar with all kinds of salsa, pico-de-Gallo etc for your chips. The staff was very nice and helpful.

First Off - This is La Espiga, the Latin Grocery, NOT Servicio Azteca, the restaurant. I learned long ago to follow the workers for a good meal. Road workers, plumbers, field hands, farmers, policemen, local military, and average Joe often line up inside the store to place orders. The line can easily wrap around through the butchers at the back of the store. The Food (that's why you're here, right?): You're not going to go wrong. The tacos, burritos, and tortas are all good choices. I've never had a bad meal here. First time and nervous? Burrito de Carne Asada or Pork Carnitas or Chipotle con frijoles (add some queso!). Vegetarian? Chili Relleno and frijoles! Adventuresome? Llengua tacos. Want a sandwich? Try a Torta de Carne Asada! It's awesome. The Service: The ladies behind the counter are friendly and patient and will answer most any question you have. Spanish is generally primary, but mine's terrible, and they put up with me really well. Just be polite, and you're in good hands. The Value: It's tough to beat a burrito or a set of 4 x tacos or a handmade torta sandwich that could feed a couple for the prices these folks charge. The food is made with care, and it truly shows. Bottom Line: This place is hands-down the best place to get a good lunch (especially to-go) in town. If you want Mexican food, and don't mind eating outside or taking it with you, I'd send you here before anywhere else in town. You'd rather sit down? Step next-door to Servicio Azteca! You won't be disappointed either way.
