The mechanic seemed to compently R/R the water pump. And, diagnosed the oil leak as comming from a previously improper transmission fluid service that had resulted in what I was told a distorted transmission bell housing caused by the improper use of a large screwdriver and hammer to remove the plate beneath the transmission. It Was recommend that the transmission be replaced and that the silcone adhesive compound would work for a long time but eventually would begin to leak some. A search of my car maintenence records shows that the previous transmission fluid change was performed by Hill Top Service.
