I beg of you, do not ever rent with this 'company'. Steve needs to be shut down. He is an absolute crook. He has no respect for anyone including military. After renting for a year, we PCS, give more than a 30 day notice, no response. Professionally clean our carpets, spend multiple days deep cleaning to way better shape than we received.. We have had no contact with Steve. We had to leave our house key under a door mat on our final move out date because of his incompetence. It's been almost 3 months & have received no paperwork , info, & we definitely lost our $1.5 K deposit for zero reason ... it's a shame oak harbor is so small & military have zero choices for housing & we have to fall to the temptation of renting with Cascade...

Save your time and frustration, just forget they exist. If you have to pay a few more dollars to rent through someone else do it.

We wanted to apply for a house, only way was online, then we tried and tried to get ahold of someone at Cascade Property Services with no luck (in person, via phone and email). This scam is pretty sad. The office looks empty, the phone was never answered, and the only time I receive an email from Steve or anyone was after I filled a fraud/scam complaint against the charges. It's currently under investigation.

If I could give zero starts I would. Same exact situation as the reviews posted below. Moved out almost three weeks ago and cannot get a hold of Steve. He’s ignoring texts, calls and emails, but had the time to deactivate my account on the payment portal so I can’t see records of anything. Thank god I screenshotted everything! The apartment was spotless when I moved out, even had the carpets professionally cleaned. There’s no reason I shouldn’t get my security deposit back. My husband has even showed up in person at Cascade Property Services but Steve is nowhere to be found. Since we moved close by, we will be following up with legal action. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.

Absolutely do not rent from Steve. We had mold growing everywhere in our apartment in which we were given one small box of baking powder. We had a water leak the entire time we lived there that they “fixed” multiple times, but it was never actually fixed and the water company kept telling us that we were using a drastic amount of money compared to everyone else. They are impossible to get ahold of & they don’t give your security deposit back or contact you back ever. I’ve called them everyday for a month & still have not received a call back.I feel like we should all get together at this point & start a lawsuit or something lol.

Best landlord I've had in Oak Harbor

I honestly wish I could put zero stars. This is hands down the laziest business in the Oak Harbor area. This was my husband and I’s first renting experience and it’s been absolutely horrible. For starters, we had a few things go wrong in our apartment over the few years we were there and it was impossible to contact Steve, the owner. We would leave voicemails and weeks would go by before someone was sent to fix whatever was broken. This was bearable and does not constitute such a negative review. However, the way we were treated when ending our tenancy was atrocious. I called, sent emails and left a physical copy of our notice to vacate and was sent a response an entire week after. There was a mix up with our rent and we were supposed to get half of it back so I called Steve about seven times, sent four emails and went to the physical location to try and get an answer as to when we would get our money back and I never received a response. I cleaned the entire apartment AND paid $180 to have the carpets professionally cleaned and did not receive my safety deposit even though nothing was broken and the apartment looked great. Unfortunately my husband is active duty so we moved to another country and I am unable to pursue legal action from here. I implore you, do NOT rent with Cascade Properties!

DO. NOT. DO. IT.I REPEAT.DO NOT RENT WITH STEVE SPRINGER.Everyone agrees that it was a mistake. I know finding a place in oak harbor is difficult.. but unless you like taking legal action, save yourself the exhaustion. Read the other reviews on here & yelp, they’re extremely relatable to my experience. I don’t even know how this man is legally allowed to be a landlord at this point.

Wish I had seen these reviews before we moved in - would have saved a lot of stress and headache. As the others have said, there is zero communication from this landlord after move-in - no response to the one maintenance request we made, and radio silence for 2 whole months between submitting our 20-day move-out notice and finally receiving a response after informing them that we intended to take them to small claims court for failing to return our deposit. In that time, we tried 2 numbers for voicemail and texts, 2 email addresses, letters in 2 mailboxes at the office, and contacting the owner directly through their maintenance person. In the words of the owner it is "standard company policy" to not answer communication from tenants, especially regarding security deposits. They claim we did not receive our deposit on time due to an honest mistake, and while this may be true for all we know, they had zero evidence to show us to support this claim or the charges that they deducted from the deposit, and after 2 months of being intentionally ignored, we had no indications whatsoever that they were operating in good faith. After finally meeting in person we were able to get our deposit back. If you do choose to rent from Cascade, document everything and know your rights as a tenant.

Nice neighborhood but you can hear your neighbors in their apartment when they walk or run especially if they like to run up and down the stairs. When one neighbor flashes or showers you can hear the water running from the living room. It sounds like they are in your apartment. The maintenance guy (in his 80s) walked into my apartment while I was sleep. He was in the wrong apartment. He didn’t knock call or ring the bell. I wake up to a man in my living and had to flash my weapon for him to leave. (after 6 back to back calls) i talked to Steve about the situation and he tells me to calm down it’s ok!! Any problem that I have....I have to call Steve repeatedly just to get an answer. He doesn’t return calls AT ALL! Now I’ve been out of my apartment for over 20 days and still have not received my deposit and of course I haven’t heard from him! DO NOT RENT FROM CASCADE

As some of the other reviews have said, this company is absolutely terrible. My experience while renting was often filled with ignored emails or calls whether it be for questions about the house or maintenance requests The worst part was the no communication about the security deposit return and then the return finally shows up in the mail to only find more charges for things that were already done. They charged me for their fence that blew over as well for them to move it after I moved out (the fence that they never fixed after multiple requests). STAY AWAY
