We have such a good experience every time with our dog. Every doctor and staff member are exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. Their appointment availability is always good - they also reserve some same day appointments for urgent pet needs, which has helped us out a lot. Highly recommend!

IN MY OPINION…
It is my opinion that this veterinary clinic is negligent and irresponsible, which resulted in the death of my pet. They want to chalk it up to her being an elderly dog (she was 9, happy and healthy) and claiming she had a pre-existing liver condition that caused her death. They ran bloodwork on her twice before her dental procedure, which included levels of liver enzymes, among other things. Blood work can show markers for liver damage or reduced liver function. If our pet had this pre-existing condition the blood test results should have given them pause before going ahead with the procedure. We are quite familiar with liver conditions and liver enzyme blood test results.
During the induction of anesthesia, an error was made - A valve they forgot to open until they saw problems arise. They also say this had nothing to do with her death. We know and they know what happened. They contacted me on my home phone asking if I wanted them to continue lifesaving efforts on her, and I said yes. They said they had already tried life-saving efforts for about 10 minutes at that point, and they also said they called my cell phone but that I had given the wrong number (not true). I asked them to continue to try to save my pet.
We went to the clinic. After they brought me her lifeless body, they offered to waive the cost of her procedure, the dental cleaning on my other dog, a necropsy and the cremation of my pet. All signs of guilt, in my opinion. All they could say was “we are sorry for your loss” and hang their heads while saying it.
This kind of thing should never happen - NEVER. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. In fact, I would warn people to find a different place to take their beloved pets. In my opinion, you would be taking an unnecessary risk bringing your pet to them.
They will likely respond to this review with the usual “sorry, we understand your loss,” etc., like they do all the other negative reviews. In my opinion, don’t buy into their disingenuous words.
Update: Teeth cleaning is not a complicated procedure.
1. The bloodwork you did would have had markers for liver issues. So, you either didn't do a comprehensive review of the bloodwork, or she didn't have liver issues. One or the other.
2. Your response to my 1st review was completely expected, i.e. we are sorry for your loss of a loved one, we did everything we could, etc. The fact is, it should never have happened, you know it and I know it.
3. In my opinion, you are better off taking your loved pet elsewhere.

We originally came here after recently relocating and our senior cat needed to establish care here. Then we also got a puppy. We did the puppy plan which worked out but once that was done, we changed vets. Anytime our pet was sick and needed to be seen they never had same day/week appts. They recommend we go see ER vets instead. They also would say if we call at 7am (before they open) we could possibly get a same day appt. I tried a couple times and could never get one. I felt like i was fighting for appts. I never have these experiences at my current vet. I don't have any complaints about the vets and most everyone else but they had one young lady who was rude. I requested a med for our puppy and she was adamant that I had to make another appointment even though the doctor told me at the last appointment it was OK. I asked her to check with the doctor but she did not want to. She had an ugly attitude and tone. At some point, I had another person get back to me saying they read through the notes or talked with the vet and I was able to get what I needed. Then, after I have texted and called to notify them we no longer go there we were charged for an adult plan, which I had definitely declined when asked at our last visit. The manager did fix it. Though, I still get emails and texts from them which I wish would stop.

Our dog pearl needs some special attention! We got right in and they seem to triage their patients very effectively. Everyone works really hard to make the customer comfortable and happy even if a customer may be a little stressed about their dogs health. The web interface is a major disappointment when trying to get simple things done.

Killed my parents dog during a routine procedure.
Also another vet at this practice killed one of our dogs years ago. Gave them a pass and chose a different vet at this practice. But now this. Don’t recommend using them

Very disappointed with our two recent visits. Lack of empathy, attention to detail, and professionalism on all counts. We’ve been coming here for years and will be moving our “pack” elsewhere for the safety of our dogs and our own sanity.
The clinic was wonderful for years but has changed which is why I’m writing a review after having referred so many people here in the past.

WARNING - You are at risk of placing your fur baby in harms way by trusting your care to Animal Hospital of Newport Hills. We used to recommend this place to everyone, however it has gone so far down hill in their quality of care, that I now feel the need to warn people how bad it is.
We have been going here for 5+ years with four of our animals, and have chosen to discontinue business here for the following reasons:
- Care team has very low to no attention to detail which may result in life threatening consequences for your fur baby.
- Failed to call with diagnosis after over $1,500 in blood tests and scans. Tests indicated possible pneumonia, and this failure to communicate this diagnosis (when we called in to directly ask the results), resulted in delayed administration of medication leading to a worsening in condition of our beloved family member.
- Incredibly rude and dismissive front desk staff. When I communicated my disappointment, instead of being empathetic, they said, “let me know if you need my help transferring your pet’s records to another clinic.”
- You are just a number. They are incredibly understaffed, so they feel that since their schedule is full, that you are expendable. We had repeated interactions that have demonstrated a lack of compassion or care.
- Extremely overpriced and deceptive billing practices. Billed on multiple occasions over $120 a full exam, and the vet failed to even listen to our pet’s heart, take its temperature, or even take their weight.
- We split up one of our smaller dog’s vaccines a couple weeks apart because they have poor reactions to them, and we were charged an additional full office visit fee, even though no exam was performed.
