I have never heard dumb reasons for not shaking a can of paint, it's a couple minutes of customer service, only place I have ever been told no. The fact that they don't have much of a selection on most hardware makes it so much easier to go elsewhere. One star rating is too high

am not a handy person but have been trying to do some things on my own and with the help of Dave from Ace, I have been successful. For every kind of project I have had or with help needed with specific parts or drills, he has provided excellent guidance. He is kind, warm, and listens carefully to what I need and even seeks more guidance from other staff to get a second opinion. I do not write very many reviews but Dave is exceptional and I wanted to commend him and his service. What a gem.

Don't go to big box stores! Ordered a string trimmer and hedge clipper. Arrived at the store and immediately the helpful employee Temby went and picked it up. Then he unpacked it to make sure it was working and complete. Then he said "Why don't you shop for a few minutes while I fill out the warranty info from your online order info?" Then he went through details of operating the tools with me, then checked to make sure the replacement string reloads I bought were the right diameter, then carried everything to the car for me. This was the first over-the-top service I've ever had from a hardware store and was super appreciated.
