If i could give negative stars, I would... I recently visited your establishment when myself and 4 kids in tow went to the street fair. Parking is limited, which it always has been (thank goodness for the garage going in), we circled many many blocks until we came across a parking spot in the Red Apple/Bank of America lot. I decided to park there since, at the time of arrival, there was no sign saying there was no street fair parking, and it's worth mentioning that both lots at red apple/bank of America were packed. This along with the fact that I've lived in the valley and have parked here during the street fair for every year of my 35 years of life. Red apple has always been a community store. Actually, all of down town MV is, especially during the streetfair. All of the downtown companies give up their store front parking for the 3 day long festival, specifically because it brings tourism to our town. After a GREAT day at the streetfair, we went back to our car to see it had been towed. When I went in to talk to a Red Apple Manager about this (which btw, other then the owners son, everyone was very sweet and empathetic) I was met with so much disgust and attitude. I had asked to speak to the man that had my car towed. They said he wasn't there and I could speak to the manager (later finding out from the very nice tow truck driver, it is the new owner's son). I explained to this man what I had stated above and most concerningly, how am I supposed to get myself and 4 kids to burlington to pick up our car. I was met with a "so" from this man. Rather then any sympathy or understanding. He informed me that there were signs. There were not. There certainly were signs when we got back, but not when we first parked there. Besides the point, I understand you are an establishment and needed to do what you needed to do (I suppose). But to be treated like I wasn't a human is not ok. I did not yell at your manager until he decided to speak over me when I was trying to talking to him about our community and that this stands for everything MV is against. I also think it's worth mentioning that when I got back and my car was gone, the parking lot was still half full. I'm sorry but the 5 customers you had in your store at the time of me speaking sternly to your manager (my kids said I used my mom voice), do not add up to the vehicles there. So why my car? The incredible kind tow truck driver at Peter's towing also mentioned you towed 6 other cars that day. You my friend are everything we don't want in MV and our community. You should be ashamed of how you targeted locals. BTW, I had every intention of coming in to grocery shop after our day at the street fair, because that was only fair. I will now, never step foot in your establishment until there are new owners. And I will do everything in my power to make sure people understand what kind of business you are. But seeing it's always dead in your store, I'm guessing people are already getting the memo. Good luck responding back defensively.

Once a year, a street fair in Mount Vernon opens for 3 days. Usually red apple lets us park in there parking spots, but this time we got towed. The manager was unkind enough to say it’s not his fault and would later stalk us because we were telling people that the manger and the store was a messy and a childish business. It makes me want to NOT shop there, when no one has empathy to just offer us a ride, with down town mount Vernon not having Any taxis or anything. And I hope people around in this county reads this, and maybe have a change in mind about this “NICE STORE”. Thank you for your time.

Red Apple Towed our car during the street far right before we were about to go buy from them. Red apple has no respect for community. Not to mention, we weren’t even given empathy. I was there with my 5 children and they couldn’t even say sorry. Once a year for 3 days doesn’t it seem like common curtesy to be a kind person and not tow everybody who decides to park at your parking lot? Most businesses with common sense would not make this retarded mistake pushing away customers , and community.

When in south Mt Vernon, the red apple is the only place to shop. I stop in at the deli for a snack or drink.

I love working here. My bosses and co-workers are great and we are a great team. Getting to know the regulars and meeting new people alike. I see a lot of humanity and how we help our fellow humans. I love meeting people.

I like the hot deli food but The older woman who works in the deli slash meat department could be more courteous to customers instead of profiling them. I Try to ask her for help. And the first thing she said was I was gonna have to pay for the things. I had as if I wasnt going to go to the register.

No public restroom. The staff denied my grandpa bathroom access. I do not recommend shopping here.

Kind of rude I emptied my basket of my purchases and set it down to pay I was going to put it back the cashier made a huge show of looking around to make sure I wasn't keeping anything in the small basket after I even slid it out so she could see it was empty she checked it twice very flagrant and short with me. The selection is very small and the prices more than most places.

Being the only actual grocery store on the south end of town means it's convenient, but the selection is somewhat limited and costs more because there's they can.

Little higher price wise but better produce and not as busy as the big Satan Safeway the ominous red S that makes us shiver with grocery fear! Safeway sucks and this is what's left.

I go to Red Apple every couple of years, just to remind myself why I don't go there anymore. They have a very poor selection and variety, and their prices are really high. They very rarely have whatever I'm looking for.

My go to market. Reasonable meat prices, fresh produce and nice friendly staff. Did I mention Friday is barbecue day? That alone is enough to get me over there! Support local business please! I'd gladly pay a little more to receive the home town service and kindness that I experience there.
