It's my favorite grocery store in Mt. Vernon. Updating this in 2024 It's still my favorite grocery store in Mount Vernon. I went to Safeway a few days before posting this and even though they're owned by Kroger both of them the atmosphere at haggens is just far superior. Plus there's more checkers the variety is different in the deli it's just more my speed

Overall experience? I will go somewhere else. Went in for chips and dip for a grad party. Couldn't read the signs, they were small and amid the shelves, not up where they could be read. Spent the majority of visit in line while the checker figured out the vegetable while flirting with her customer and then called for the item #. Finally her manager gave the last items to the guy for free. Wish we had that option. Paid $92 for chips she crammed into the bags. Super.

Haggens has always been a family store for us. Raised in the GNW, my family has been here longer than theirs, so it's been a little sad to see the amount of homeless people congregating at the backs and sides of their buildings, get so ignored. In a day and age where our women keep fingers between keys, or mace and taser in the purse, why are we supporting local when they aren't really helping our communities? It always costs the customer more to support our local stores, we accept that in exchange for feeling like we are making a difference. I don't feel like I really support my community by shopping here anymore.
At the end of the day, they have become middle of the road simply because of inattention, and above average pricing. Not for anything that they really have done, but it taints the experience. I personally believe in the right to refuse service which they could do, and request that people who are not actively purchasing or consuming food leave. We shouldn't be afraid to do the right thing if we haven't done anything wrong.

Haggen's used to be where I shopped all the time, but now they're the most expensive store in town. Produce is great, and they have a good selection of foods. Safeway is the same and cheaper.

Great store. We only shop for a need. This is a pricey store, which does not seem to curtail shopping.

I like haggen and always go there for fish and produce. But today I had a very bad experience. I bought some Persian cucumbers for a recipe I was making only to find out when I got home that they were all slimey and spoiled. I am very disappointed with this haggen. Considering their higher prices I expect a higher level of quality than this. Seems like this store has been going downhill recently. I’ve never had a bad experience at any other haggen location. Please fix this!

Ordering cakes through a phone could be more efficient if your team could receive pictures of cakes for examples.

They have great wines and food. The deli has cooked rotisserie chicken with no antibiotics or hormones the free range rotisserie chicken. Very nice place to shop for groceries!
