The team behind the Amazon Go stores have done an awesome job making the utopian mini market of the future. Somewhere between a convenience store and a small cafe, they put a lot of thought into everything, and sometimes have some pretty good deals. They took a smart move of stocking a lot of higher end local eats in the bakery and deli. The "just walk out" system is actually thoughtful for those who visit on a regular basis, but it makes me kind of excited to see how Amazon will implement this level of detail in their larger, more Target-esque/Fred-Meyer esque stores when they inevitably come.

This was our first visit to an Amazon Go store, specifically the one in Mill Creek, Washington. Overall, it was a fascinating and innovative experience. The store's technology, which links purchases directly to your Amazon account, is both smart and cool. On the day we visited, they were giving out Amazon grocery bags, which was a nice touch.
The store offers a variety of items, including sandwiches, snacks, prepared foods, wines, and beers. It's essentially like a high-end mini grocery store with cutting-edge technology. We picked up a few items, including a cup of soda and just plain cold water. It felt both cool and somewhat strange to walk out without going through a traditional checkout process, but I suppose it's just a matter of getting used to this new way of shopping.
One minor issue we encountered was with the billing. The charges went directly to our Amazon account, which is good but we later discovered that there was a small error where the water we dispensed from the fountain was charged as soda. It seems the camera scanner recognized the cup but not the type of liquid dispensed.
Despite this hiccup, our overall experience was very positive. The technology is impressive, and it's exciting to see how it might shape the future of shopping.

Most of the time I go the place is dirty. It's disgusting to sit down to eat something under those conditions.

The prices are high and the selection is mediocre. I'd rather go to a 7-11 or AM/PM.
When I go to drop off a return, I'll usually pick up lunch, because their sandwich bar is the one decent value. And I'll also get the chips and a fountain drink combo because it's cheaper than just getting the chips by themselves. But that Coke Freestyle machine is AWFUL. It never seems to be well maintained and the flavors are always off. They have machines like this at the movie theaters and Five Guys and they're fine, but this one was bad this recent visit and every past visit. Initially I wrote it off to timing, but *every* time... they're doing something wrong.

This store is always dirty; floors, counters, appliances/dispensers, trash cans, all of it. They're usually out of a lot of stuff and have difficulty making food orders correctly (using the offered customization options is always a gamble). When the food is done right, it's pretty good. It's a convenient place to return orders/purchases.
I no longer use the store any more than absolutely necessary to return orders and an occasional breakfast when in a rush. The very moment something better comes along, I won't stop foot in there again.

The pulled pork meat for the sandwiches is old and smelly again. I love the store, that’s why I rate 4 not less

The employees can’t help with your account, they really don’t do much of anything for you unless you need a sandwich made. I had trouble getting in since there system just decided that my acct is not accepted. the employees don’t know left from right when you call customer service they refer you back to the store. which again don’t have the knowledge or authority to do anything.
It’s overpriced and only reason I went is for the peace of not having to talk to anyone. a red bull is 4.50$ not worth the bother anymore.
Oh P.S. Don’t bring a service animal I’ve seen them kick 3 ppl out with disabilities because they had a service dog ??

My first time here last year there was froyo from pink berry (original tart and a berry flavor). Just went today to get more and the froyo machine was just soft serve (vanilla and chocolate). Definitely not froyo and not worth the $5. It’s the same as the soft serve at Costco. False advertising.

Closing times are not accurate. I’m a caregiver, work 24hr/ 72 hr shifts sometimes and just want a soda/ cola after work because I don’t drink. I always see workers inside but doors are always closed @ 10:30pm? Tonight I got someone to actually come to the door and explain because isn’t this supposed to be a convenient/ quick store? It’s Friday night, shouldn’t hours be open later? (I didn’t get her name but thank you for the soda!)
