I've gotten several birds and merch there, but looks like the store is no longer. Went by there yesterday and lots of construction going on, and their phone is shut off, so I think that's it folks. The "temporarily closed" sign is obsolete I fear. Was a nice place.

Please, for the love of god don’t buy a macaw or any parrot for that matter until you have spent a legitimate amount of time around them and have researched ALL of the aspects of ownership. These wonderful creatures can easily outlive you, even if you get one as a teenager…Yes, they can live that long. Macaws can live up to 100 years and longer in captivity! A they are a very demanding, intensive time investment companion if you are going to raise them properly. They MUST be properly socialized, fed a proper (can be very expensive) diet, mentally exercised regularly by supplying ample toys, wooden chews, perching trees, etc and a very strong steel cage for times when you aren’t there and preferably a whole room just for the bird where they can romp around and be…birds. If you can’t do that or at least properly socialize and feed one for decades then it’s a good idea to find another companion. You can get most of the same enjoyment and personality with a conure, or a Quaker parakeet. They are great first time bird parent birds and can help prepare you for a macaw, or help you realize maybe a macaw is a bit too much bird. There are sadly thousands of macaws (and cockatoos) across the country in adoption or rescue facilities. They were each given up by someone who thought they could handle it. That should tell you something. Some people can do very well with them, most can’t. Do yourself a favor and take the time to make sure you are prepared if you are determined to have one, as you will have lots of time afterwords regretting it if you don’t. They can make wonderful companions for the right person. Someone who is financially settled, home a lot, doesn’t smoke anything (smoke of any kind is terrible for their little systems to handle) is emotionally stable and *extremely* patient in nature. Birds are very in tuned to their person. More so than dogs even. If you are an uptight or mood swing prone person I promise you your bird will be miserable and pluck. I make this post not to scare away people from parrots, only to hopefully incite a moment of reflection that could help save yet another parrot from the adoption or rescue cycle. I give kudos to the owners of this shop as they are known for doing more pre-purchase vetting than most shops out there. Remember, Google is your friend. Spend the time researching until you feel confident, and then spend another week in “cool down” time. If you still feel confident after that, then go for it. Listen to your inner voice, it will tell you if it’s a good choice.

Denise’s Parrot Place really cares about their birds a lot. Yes they might be stricter than other places about their policies, but it’s all because they want to make sure the owner is well prepared, mentally and supply-wise, to take on the responsibility of owning a parrot. They are knowledgeable and friendly. Their baby birds are hand-fed and very tame. This is the place to go if you are serious about owning a quality parrot.

On the web, it opens at 9:45, and when I arrived at 10:00, I saw it was closed, and I traveled 13 minutes.

I don't recommend this place, I called in today and they said they had parrot birds in there and when I finally drove up 2 hours to pick up the parrot they said that I had to go there 3 times instead of telling me over the phone. This place sucks, do not buy anything from them guys. not worth it.

We got our cockatiel 6 years ago from here but the bird has ongoing crop issues. She is otherwise doing well but the crop swelling goes away and comes back from time to time. We have consulted various veterinarian on this issue and most have said this is a breeders issue but nobody is going to accept it. I hope no one else sees their pet in so much pain, as we had to take her to emergency twice due to crop issues.

A month ago, we took home our cockatiel, whom we had visited for a month and a half once a week. The bird was kept with love and he immediately became super sociable. Our parrot's name is Master Chirikawa and yesterday he started speaking in human language.

Ok, we all have to admit there were many birds there, it was pretty clean inside and also, they let us hold the birds. But one of the staff were kind of impatient, so I give it 4 stars. I recommend you to go there if you want a bigger parrot, not budgies. It's personally overpriced. I've seen lower prices. So yeah.

My business with DPP began about 18 months ago when I tagged along withy boyfriend on his journey to get an African Grey. I was researching species and decided to put my name on several watch/wait lists in two states. BF and I visited DPP a couple of times and I put my name on their list for a Blue-headed Pionus. Much to my surprise they called me 4onths ago saying a breeder had a hatched clutch and did I still want one. Yes!! It took about 3 weeks for my new baby to get shipped to DPP. Rick took pictures and sent them to me and I visited the first time the next day. My hatchling was so ulgy-cute and I was shown how they hand feed the babies. I visited 6 or so times during the hand feeding and natural weaning process. It took around 2 months for my bird to wean and become self-sufficient with food and water. DPP really care about the birds they sell!! They will not sell a bird upon demand the first time someone comes to the store. They require several visits and a deposit prior to purchase. They do not clip wings or force-wean babies. The entire staff was incredible. Allison has a wealth of good information!! I didn't have one negative experience with any staff. My bird has been home just over a week and she's incredible. She got so much socialization opportunities at the store almost nothing fazes her or scared her. She is very gentle with everyone and even my 7 year old son can handle her without being bitten or fearful. We are all in love with her chill nature. Thank you DPP! I never knew I could have such an incredible experience buying a new family member. You guys are #1!!!

Zoe was a bit sassy at the beginning but I gave her some banana chips and she was extremely excited. The conures were so playful but sadly can't really touch them. I enjoyed the vibes here and I do really want to cone back here again!

Denise's is THE BEST. They know and love birds. The boarding service is great and I know my bird is well cared for and safe there. The staff are wonderful, knowledgeable, and treat their human and avian customers like family. I cant recommend them enough!

Excellent visit; appreciate the customer service and experience. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. We didn’t buy, but this was very helpful in getting to understand more about the birds. And low pressure.

Isa, Rick, Allison, everyone is great here! All of them knowledgeable and approachable. They have excellent customer service. Really personable and careful with the process in finding the birds forever homes. I’m excited to take my little one home very very soon!!I walked in the first time from being a part of a Facebook group for awhile. I then decided on my type of bird, came in to just learn and observe. I tried out the aviary and learned how to connect better. They recommend spending time with your bird before taking the bird home. Which I believe is awesome!I’m feeling like I can properly prepare for my first bird on my own. I had cockatiels when I was much younger, but this time I know I can definitely keep my companion happy and healthy! ?My advice, be patient with the aviary process. Everyone is trying to find a forever friend. This service and process they have makes total sense!
