“Absolutely love this bookstore!! The kids area is especially great - my kids could play here forever and love discovering new books. The staff is super kind and helpful, especially Laurie who helped us when we had an issue with our Independent Bookstore Day prize. The cookbook area is my personal favorite but there is always something new to find here.”

“I could have spent more time here, but we were with a group, and I wanted to be cognizant of others. This is just a warm, cozy, environment with a larger collection of books than it seems possible.”

“A great local option for cookbooks with a diverse selection. Every cookbook that I have wanted to purchase in the past few years I have been able to get at the store or through their website. Visit and browse, you'll find something you love!”

“The wonderful curation at this bookstore keeps me coming back. I have found so many lovely gems I may have never done otherwise at their themed recommendation tables in the front. The employees have great taste, and seem super passionate about the store and the books they're selling. This is absolutely my bookstore of choice.”

“Overall great store for MTG players, tabletop gamers and comics fans.Exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable staff. Simply put- They just get it, and they just do things right. Every one of the dozens of times I have purchased something, usually singles, it has been a fantastic experience among multiple different staff members. Thanks yall!Wednesday night commander usually fills the place. You can easily go solo and find a game within minutes if you do things appropriately. Just sit and wait or ask around.Ofcorse it's downtown Seattle and prices are a bit higher, but they also have some great deals. If the prices and prize support were a bit better, I would give them 5 stars, even 6 stars if I could. But again I don't fault them for it. Retail rent is expensive in Seattle, and its not the most lucrative type of business. Don't get me wrong the prices are fair, just a lil bit higher than most shops I go to outside of the city.I would love to see the pauper and modern event turn out increase a bit. I wish I could make it more often myself. Players, let's make it happen!”

“TONS of CDs! I was really surprised at how big their selection was here. The staff were super friendly. Everything was fairly priced, if a tiny bit more than I've seen elsewhere. Not the worst though considering how vast the store is.”

“Charming small shop with mostly new and some used books sprinkled throughout. Organization is really chaotic with fun categories like “When You’re Feeling Witchy”—maybe not optimal if you’re looking for a specific title but awesome for discovering something unexpected.”

“Great bookstore, I wished I had more time to browse the whole shelves. Excellent collections, categories, genres, etc. On our short visit to downtown Seattle, this stop was very satisfying, I did purchase a couple of books.”

“A lovely bookstore in Fremont! Always has an interesting collection of books and the staff here are always so kind and friendly! It’s really cozy in here and I love the spiral staircase to the basement. Highly recommend if you’re passing through the area.”

“Has more figurines and merchandise than what I'd seen from Portland Kinokuniya. Absolutely loved the selection of Nenderoids! The upstairs/staircase are a tight squeeze sometimes and it can feel a little stuffy but otherwise great!”

“I LOVE this place. It is a wonderful bookstore with a strong community event focus too. It's reasonably priced, a great place to hang out and peruse the books and engage with others. I've seen high quality musical performances and the monthly events calendar is packed full of great jams, intellectual and cultural events. This is a place well worth supporting and telling your friends about!”

“Ada's I love you but please make your breakfast sandwich less vertical!!!! It's delicious but I need to unhinge my jaw to eat it, and it becomes very messy.”

“Amazing little theater with super friendly staff and comfy seats. Only about 50 seats though, so I’d recommend buying tickets ahead of time. So far I’ve seen two films here, and I plan to keep coming back.”

“Absolutely wonderful little bookshop with great prices, a wide selection and deeply knowledgeable and passionate staff. Highly recommended for any and all literature lovers!”

“A wonderful bookstore and one of my favorite bookshops in Seattle. The inside is incredibly beautiful, and you really feel like you have stepped into the quintessential used book store. They have such a wide array of books in the store I am always able to find something be it for myself or for a gift. While the fiction section is the largest, other sections are not left lacking.I have also sold some of my read books here, and I the exchange they offer is quite nice. I usually opt for store credit since I know I will be using it soon anyway (sometimes the same day).”

“I stop by here on occasion to look for their varied selection of incense and oils, and the staff is incredibly kind and friendly every time. There is one man with long gray hair who occasionally works the cashier who's always a joy to talk to whenever I come in. I remember coming in wearing a NiGHTS Into Dreams shirt once and he was fascinated by it and asked who the character on it was. I'm going to miss this place when I leave.”

“It’s been years since I lived in Seattle, but what I remember the most is the used bookstores. On a recent visit, I discovered the Literary Saloon, and I was reminded that there really are the most amazing used bookstores there.Mr. Johnson is the most masterful curator/literary merchant I have encountered on my most recent trip. He was happy to help, but really happy to let me look through every single pile like a crazy completist freak. Please, must be seen to be believed. If you are a thoughtful, smart, and widely read…this is where you will likely lose two hours of your vacation in the essays section.”

“I enjoy going to Third Place Books. Heck, you can even get a burger and beer without leaving the building. I just discovered that many of their used books are interspersed amongst the books on their shelves (look for the yellow stickers), so it's a bit like an Easter egg-hunt ? I got lucky and found a copy of Game of Thones for $4, and Dune for $5. The bookstore isn't huge, but the selection is solid. The location, somewhat near Seward Park is quite nice with a nice coffee shop, pizza, pasta and other things nearby. It's a win-win. You'll probably have to park somewhere close-by as the parking lot seems perpetually full, though.”

“Lovely local bookstore! Good selection of books for children and adults, (did not really see any comics, but that's ok!) They sell a nicely curated collection of new and used titles and the clerk I spoke to was excited to have us! An excellent experience overall and a real gem of a bookstore!”

“I love going into this Barnes and Nobles! The staff is so nice, they KNOW their books and give great recommendations that you wouldn't think of, AND they are so clean and organized. This is my regular hideaway. ❤️”

“Newer, smaller location but with plenty of variety. Curated selection, makes up for the lack of overall volume. Decent spot for a quick gift or checking out a newer book”

“Absolutely LOVE this place!!!! One of the best bookstores ever and the library is even better. The younger guy working the library was such a bright lovely light and made my visit there so amazing. He was friendly and told me all the history of the shop as well gave me a brochure for the classes and workshops there are. Can’t say enough about the experience i had here, highly recommend, love the staff, love the book collections, love the tarot collections. They have it all! 10/10”

“Lots of great stuff to buy and super helpful and knowledgeable staff. I needed to buy some binoculars and the staff spent over 15 minutes with me trying out a couple pairs and patiently explaining the differences. Great cause, great shop, great staff!”

“Small book store with reasonably priced books. Was glad to see so much was in good condition, too many used bookstores sell poor condition books for too high a price. Also a tiny little collection of used games and electronics in the back, a welcome surprise.”
