All this place cares about is taking your money. Stay away. You should be able to trust your mechanic to look out for what’s best for you and your car. They are the stereotypical bad mechanic. They will nickel and dime you to grab some money. Their customer service is non existent and the quality of their service for anything non oil changed related is even worse. It’s ironic that they call themselves a lube center because after dealing with them, I feel like I got it with no lube whatsoever!!

Okay overall, but had a potentially serious issue.
Went in for an oil change. Picked Rock Creek because I prefer to support local businesses vs. national chains.
Good: No line mid day on a weekday, two out of three bays were open. Fast change, I was out in about 15 minutes. Took a $10 off coupon I found online. Pulled my car up to the door when finished. Didn’t try to upsell me on things I don’t need (e.g. the usual pitch for a new air filter, etc).
Mid: Price was the same as everywhere else, so no advantages there. I still prefer locally owned. I wasn’t offered a coupon like previous reviewers said. I waited till payment to provide my own since others mentioned it happening previously. Neither of these really affect my overall opinion. I don’t hold not offering coupons against a business, since it’s not common or expected. Didn’t reset my timer, nbd, some places do it, some don’t.
Bad: The tech immediately started work without asking what I wanted (weight, blend vs. synthetic, etc). To their credit, they selected the correct type. But you don’t start work on someone’s car without communicating with the owner first what you plan on and what they want. I don’t know you, I don’t know if you know my car, and a mistake can be expensive. This is a major issue for me. On a less serious note, the tech left grease on the steering wheel and seat adjustments. I get it, I’ve worked around greasy vehicles too, but wash them or grab a paper towel or glove. That’s basic customer service.
Not sure if I’ll be back. The price was fine, the speed was good, and I like keeping money local. I’d consider it for another oil change. I almost definitely won’t for anything else, due to the trust issue of a tech starting work on my car without communicating with me. If the owners are the type to watch reviews and talk to their employees about it, that’d go a long ways towards regaining my confidence. Guess we’ll see.

Good customer service, offered coupon before asking. Good price. I asked them to leave half a quart out so I could put my oil additive in and they said they would put it in for me and did not do it, no big deal. It only took about 20 minutes. It looks like it was filled up the full 5 quarts+ (I wanted 4.5), and the oil cap was just placed on and turned once halfway crooked. Kind of sloppy but the price was right and it was the end of the day so I would probably go again.
4 years later: Never went back. Sure I paid an extremely low price but that shouldn't have meant less service, it was their coupon after all. And not putting the cap on right or filling half quart short like I asked isn't expected regardless of price.

All services on my vehicle from an oil change to the tedious job of replacing a headlight on my 2011 Outback have all been done quickly and well. Highly recommend if you are local to take your vehicle here!

Had an occasional mystery fluid dripping from under the hood. I called Rock Creek Lube Center and asked if they'd be able to take a look and identify what it could be. Without hesitation they said to drop by and they would take a look. Drove to their facility a couple hours later and within 10 minutes they identified that the oil filter hadnt been tightened appropriately from the last oil change (local "fast" lube place) and the big drop in temperature outside was probably just enough for it to cause the occasional leak. No charge, have a nice day.I will consider them for future automotive needs.

This is the BEST auto mechanic shop that I have ever been to! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and very friendly, the turn around time for the work that was completed on my car was a LOT quicker than I had expected and the price for the parts and labor was beyond reasonable. I refuse to take my vehicle anywhere else now.Service: Engine repair

No confidants in the mechanical evaluation of my brakes. They could not answer my questions on remaining brake pad thickness and rotor thickness. Second inspection reviled brake repair not required immediately and I have time to shop around for prices.
