Maybe the pharmacy isn't so great, but the store rocks! I saw some icky reviews and was surprised. This store is always clean, the help is prompt and the sale aisle is worth the trip to the store. This is one of my favorite drug stores.

I've been using this pharmacy here in Maple Valley for years and has always been great but over the last year they have just fallen off a cliff. I've had experiences where I get a text saying my prescription refill is ready only to show up and it's not and/or the wrong prescription. Last time I was here I was talking with one of the techs giving here my information and she starts looking for my prescription and suddenly turns to me and said "You'll have to come back after lunch". She was in the middle of the transaction! Wtf? Now I am here sitting waiting for my wife's prescription that they said would be ready and now they are saying a couple of hours. I'm done with this place.

I had an interaction with a lady in the pharmacy today Nov 27th,2023 at 1:29pm and was turned away due to the closing hours for lunch being 1:30-2pm The gentlemen was ready to help me and offer assistance since I was in line. However the lady belted outed rudely "we are closed, we are closed" I walked away realizing seconds later it was 1:29pm and not 1:30pm and turned around to tell her that it was 1:29pm which she agreed but still would not help me and I told her she was rude! Very very rude. She did not care and held her phone up to me and says "now it's 1:30" and I left. I will not continue to use this pharmacy Terrible customer service. Terrible.

I was completely out of an ADHD medication which I had received a few texts about earlier in the week. Out of stock. The Pharmacy clerk had ordered on Friday the 13th...still out of stock. I called 10/19 because I had not received a text in a while and needed to refill this. Pharmacist answered the phone and said they never received my Order, and he would fax a request... Felt a bit confused by this because hey, why would you be ordering meds for me on a med Order you have not received????. I got lucky and reached someone at my Provider's Office at 4:45 pm who assured me that the Order had been faxed on 10/13. I attempted to call back the Bartell's (in Maple Valley) and was put on hold for over 5 minutes. So, I just decided to go into the Pharmacy as I usually do when nobody answers the phone or terminal hold. I could not speak with the Pharmacist who was too busy on another line. I asked one of the clerks to please check another Bartell's which have the med, and I would drive there. Luckily, even though the Bartell's in Maple Valley could not get this medication for me after 6 days, she found another Bartell's in Kent which had this medication. I was told by the clerk that the Order would be "in their system" so I could get it in Kent without a problem. I thanked her and went to Kent. Unfortunately, that was not true. Because the prescribed medication was being Ordered by the Maple Valley Bartell's, it did not show up in the Kent Bartell's. I was livid with the runaround and poor communication: asking me to do a wild goose chase for an Order they already had....Ordering and re-ordering a medication when other stores had it....and not showing the Order in the Kent Bartell's. I was very upset when I spoke with the Pharmacist at Maple Valley and called him a liar. He denied he lied. Ok, maybe he did not lie...however, he did not notice the prescription which was sent 6 days before? And honestly, I usually, just laugh off the craziness, poor follow through, and difficulty with communication. He switched all my Orders to the Kent Bartell's. So, after 23 years of going to this Maple Valley Bartell's, I have been switched. Hopefully, I will receive better service at the new location. One more thing...any time a got a new prescription (son's wisdom teeth removed with antibiotics and pain med Order), I attempt to call first. Unfortunately, I had to again go the the Maple Valley Bartell's in person because nobody was picking up phone calls after my son's surgery in July. My son's medications, of course, had not been filled. Then they tell you an hour wait. How inconvenient for the customer. How ridiculous. This is the only Pharmacy that receives an Order but does not actually fill it until you show up. Ridiculous! And when you do come to pick up a prescription, they stare at the computer screen or disappear behind the med holder for 5 minutes or more. Hope the other Bartell's is better. The less you need this service, the better!

It's unfortunate that I have to keep coming to this location. The people working in the front are amazing but there always seems to be issues with the pharmacy. They close the drive thru random hours and they never answer the phone. The workers have been friendly for the most part but i was helped by a lady named Merita today and she was the worst. I get it... you have bad days and life happens but you shouldn't be rude to your customers who just want to make a quick pick up. She was super rude and its very upsetting having been treated like that.

I was incredibly disappointed by the lack of professionalism and respect I experienced when trying to reach the pharmacy. After waiting over ten minutes on hold, I was finally taken off hold, only to be hung up on without any explanation. This type of behavior is not only unprofessional but also reflects a complete disregard for customers' time and needs. Even when I tried to call back, I was informed that the pharmacy was closed. It's beyond belief that a business would not have a proper after-hours message or at least inform customers about their operating hours. This level of service needs to be revised, making me question the staff's competence and the management's commitment to customer satisfaction. I took the extra step of contacting the store and asking to speak to a manager, hoping to address the issue and provide feedback directly. Unfortunately, my experience didn't improve. The same lack of consideration continued, and I felt even more frustrated and disappointed. As a customer, I expect basic courtesy and professionalism when dealing with any business, especially one that involves my health and well-being. I have no choice but to question whether this pharmacy values its customers or if this treatment is the norm. My experience has left me contemplating whether I should take my business elsewhere. How a business treats its customers speaks volumes about its priorities, and at this point, I am thoroughly unimpressed. I am hopeful that my feedback will serve as a wake-up call for managing this pharmacy. Improvements are necessary not only for my benefit but for the benefit of all customers who deserve respect and efficient service. Should there be one, my next interaction will be more positive and respectful. If I could give no stars, I would in a heartbeat.

To say that I am disappointed in this pharmacy that we have been using for 18 years is an understatement!! I would give this multiple negative stars, if that was an option! We used to love this pharmacy and the people that worked there. They really seemed to care about you, and never once had a problem getting refills or experienced rude customer service! The people that now work there are some of the rudest people I have ever encountered! The phone service is the ABSOLUTE worst at best and you can never get through! It takes forever to get refills or new prescriptions filled. One time in particular, after trying in vain for days to get a refill, I actually got through and was immediately put on hold. After being on hold for 20 minutes, out of curiosity and by now really needing my medication, I decided to stay on hold and drive to the pharmacy . I patiently waited in line, unfortunately observing rude customer service over and over! When it was my turn I told the person that I had been waiting on the phone for 35 minutes and showed her that I was STILL on hold. She VERY RUDELY asked me if I wanted to continue to hold or if I wanted her to help me.......... each person behind that pharmacy counter acts and looks like they hate it there, and do absolutely nothing to make you feel any differently! The employees are rude and abrasive! Since last week I have been trying once again to get a refill with absolutely no luck. Once again, after going to the store (I figured I couldn't possibly have another horrible experience, boy was I ever wrong) I again was treated like garbage, I decided to finally change pharmacies! I now just received a call from Walgreens saying after trying MULTIPLE times to get through to Bartell's and failing to get through that the easiest thing to do is to call my doctor and have the prescription sent to them. They also have unfortunately heard from many many many people in the community the same things I have experienced! Once upon a time, Bartels was a great store with great products, had great sale items and wonderful employees!! What a complete shame the way it now is! People should avoid this store at all costs!!! Upon reading all of the horrible reviews, you would think someone at this Bartell's would do something, anything to help the customers or make some changes!!!!

I was wasted time and gas away from important work meetings to come here and get a COVID test. I was told they don't do testing here, do not come here for COVID testing. It lets you schedule with this location online but they do NOT offer COVID tests!!!

Bartell Drugs in Maple Valley is stellar from start to finish. I needed a script transfered from out of state while staying with my son as I was coming down with serious pneumonia, a bad cough, and a very congested left lung. THANKS to Shada, she coordinated with my out of state Dr. and got the script filled...Oh, AND on a Saturday afternoon, no less! I visited with 4 employees in the store while here and they were all terrific. When Renee checked me out, she was as efficient and friendly as can be!!! Kudos to all of you! --Richard

Take your pharmacy needs somewhere else. Always late. Closed for two days because of snow yet the rest of the store was open. Tried to get post surgery meds for my mom twice and closed both days. Finally open and coincidentally still have to wait 30 minutes! Horrible service here and their primary mission used to be the pharmacy.

never fails every time I go to pick up a prescription that is supposed to be ready. I get told it will be ready in an hour show up in an 2 hours not ready they say it will be ready in an hour. I finally said something last time about them just saying an hour not really knowing shrugs shoulders. Needed inhaler they told me 2 days out and so I said I wanted it transferred Safeway calls them and they were told I had nothing to be filled so I call back and they said nobody called finally got a hold of someone after 30 min on hold and getting hung up on calling back they sent the prescriptions over

If I could leave a zero star for the Maple Valley, WA Bartell Drug pharmacy, I would. I am a 20 year resident of Maple Valley and Bartells has always been our neighborhood drug store and pharmacy. For the past 5 years I can honestly say that the pharmacy has gone completely downhill. The staff provides the worst service! They never answer the phone or return phone calls, when in store they are rude, they're unavailable to help and NEVER, EVER have prescriptions ready for pick up on time. NEVER! We are no longer trusting Bartell Pharmacy in Maple Valley for our family prescriptions and vaccinations. Walgreens will now be our pharmacy of choice. Corporate leadership needs to read all the poor reviews and take immediate action. Staff correctly and train your staff properly to meet the needs of families in our community. This is not the Bartell Drugs we've come to depend on and trust year after year.

Thought I would give Bartels another try. Big mistake. I was told 35 minutes and I came back an hour later, still not ready. I was told another 10 minutes it's now been another 35 minutes and nothing. They closed the drive up window so I am terminal cancer patient and diagnosed with Covid waiting in the store waiting area with no concern at all by the employees.
