It sounded funny when they told me I have to be a US citizen to open an account even after showing them my green card and SSN.

My review is about Sound Credit Union in General, not a specific location. I’ve been a member for a long time by way of acquisition. The people are usually pleasant. They don’t use Zelle, so the 4 stars.

Everyone here that has helped me has been so nonchalant like I'm the girl they don't like at the bbq and they don't mind showing it. They are not friendly at all, they're barely helpful, and are just not good at their jobs. They do not belong in customer service. From the teller to the actual banker who dang near almost yanked the door to close it on me and told me to go through the drive thru, just for them to tell me that they can't help me in the drive thru and I had to come inside. I will not be returning to this location and I really hope the next one is better because this is just sad.

I have been a member since 1998, when Sound Credit was known as Seattle Telco and eventually became Watermark Credit Union before changing their name to its' current one. I'm grateful that they have added more branches because it makes it so much more convenient than before. Although I once considered leaving Sound Credit for BECU, I'm very glad that I decided to stay. They saved us from a huge headache several years ago when someone stole our debit card number and charged an outrageous amount at Walmart. The problem was fixed within a day and all of our money was returned to our account. A few days ago, I went to the location on 196th st in Lynnwood to deposit a check and asked about making an appointment to talk to someone about a car loan. I was told that they had open availability and I was able to come right in. I spoke to an associate who was wonderful and worked to help me apply for a new loan and transfer the balance from my current loan at BECU. I was also approved for a credit card with a much lower interest rate. Aside from the fact that it took a while (and two visits) to get everything taken care of, the process was effortless and I really appreciate their service. I'm glad that all of my services are now at Sound Credit instead of at BECU and that there is a branch that's so convenient to my home. I'm going to be a member for as long as I possibly can. Thanks, Sound Credit Union! I highly recommend them.
