I've gotten coffee a few times here. I do love tasting before buying but the tags are clearly misleading or straight lies. I gravitate towards Guatemalan blends and chose one to buy. Got home and pulled off the SCG labels to find information that countered the Guatemalan origin tags. Looked further online of that brand and found EVEN more inconsistent origins. Now this is either Arkansas(sourced, roasted, bagged), Guatemalan, or Colombian/Ethiopian. In a world of ethics, mis-origin can be the difference of supporting slave labor or not. This is unexceptable

Sam was incredibly helpful with questions posed on a time crunch, later in the evening via call and with zero pressure in return. Great sales member.

I wrote to Seattle Coffee Gear a couple of months ago, stating that I wanted to purchase one of their Philips Automatic Espresso machines. I know that only a steam wand can produce a fine microfilm of steam milk, but asked which Philips with a Pannarello would come close. No reply. I'm now under the impression that Gail, their spokesperson, only says only glowing superlatives about all of their machines and wouldn't dare give a critical commentary on the specifics of any one accept for cosmetics. I have decided to keep my $700 Breville and count my blessings.

Dog shit customer service, may as well have asked a brick wall for help. On hold for an hour to get told they can't do anything

ESPRESSO DRINKERS BEWARE! I bought a relatively expensive espresso machine and grinder to replace similarly expensive models that were very old. I told the sales person that I drink espresso (thus buying an espresso machine) and used dark oily beans. I was told to buy the Mignon brand and that there was no need to buy their higher priced Atom as I normally make 2 doppio espressos a day. The first Mignon grinder lasted about 45 days before it refused to grind. I did the troubleshooting steps they requested, which did not solve the problem. Then I returned this "defective" model for another. This one lasted about the same time before it stopped grinding. When I called this morning they told me THAT BECAUSE I USE DARK BEANS TO GRIND MY ESPRESSO THAT I WILL NEED TO TAKE THE GRINDER APART AND FULLY CLEAN IT EVERY MONTH! They said this is normal maintenance! I WAS NEVER TOLD THIS WHEN I PURCHASED THE UNIT OR WHEN I RETURNED THE FIRST ONE!I regularly used grinder cleaner in the past but never had to take my old grinder apart to clean it. ESPRESSO DRINKERS WHO LIKE DARK ROAST BEWARE. YOU ARE DOOMED TO DPEN ONE SATURDAY EACH MONTH TO CLEAN YOUR GRINDER.

Ordered an Ascaso Duo from a competitor in Portland. Before I ordered it I confirmed they had it in stock. After 10 days it still was not shipped, so I cancelled it. After receiving confirmation of refund, I ordered the same machine from Seattle Coffee Gear on Amazon. It was shipped the very next day via FedEx‼️These guys want you to have your coffee‼️

Can’t recommend these guys until they move away from shipping WA produced coffee to the Midwest and back again. Not so great on the ol carbon footprint….That and they’re using FedEx which has only been delaying packages. Not at all awesome for a perishable good like coffee. The help from chat and phone calls was to go and contact FedEx as to why the package just dropped off the radar, and that’s fielded by offshore workers which we all know doesn’t work. At premium costs, SCG should retain a base level of quality at the very least. Best to order directly from the roaster and just cut out the middle man.

Best customer service ever. We stopped by coffee gear for some "Rocket specific" spade connectors & covers (necessary to replace our switch). We were planning on replacing our indicator light & an inline water tube filter as well. We had the case off & it was obvious what was needed. Jessie came out and said, "I can replace and put those on for you now if you'd like. Wow! Of course! Well, Jessie not only put on the covers and replaced the spade connectors and additionally connected our switch, put in the light & the filter. It was an amazing experience. No charge! So very nice people. We headed home, put on the case, plugged it in & it's never worked better. We've been to this repair shop many times over the years. EVERY TIME we have a service done, it is with such nice and highly qualified technicians. I am so grateful they are there. Our Rocket Appartamento is a great machine. It's taken a couple of trips to get things right, but each time it is with an improvement at a reasonable price. Now that I've taken off the cover myself and get a feeling for the amount of work that goes into fixing these machines, I am feeling very good that these people are here and that Seattle Coffee Gear encouraged us to purchase the Rocket. We plan to have this for many years to come.Thank you Seattle Coffee Gear. Your website is full of information and the videos on all the machines are so informative and entertaining as well. We never hesitate to recommend this place.

The customer service we received from Seattle Coffee Gear was next level. While we ended up getting into a machine that ended up not being a fit, they bent over backwards to make it right for us. Between the staff in store and the customer service rep, I couldn’t be happier with how they handled our situation. I felt heard and they took ownership to get us into a machine that fit our needs when we felt iffy about getting the same machine again through warrantee. They have our business for life!

Mike Atkinson and Peter Stackhouse restored my trust in Seattle Coffee Gear with their kind response to my feedback about an unusually frustrating situation. My Miele automatic espresso machine was out of service for 8-9 months after the grinder jammed last September for the second time. Because of a supply issue on Miele's end, SCG's repair center wasn't able to fix the machine until this week. In the interim, there were a number of miscommunications that triggered my animus. I'm super impressed with the way Mike and Peter listened to my frustrations and followed up with meaningful actions. I would buy another $2,000 machine from Seattle Coffee Gear -- just not a Miele.

I needed a new espresso grinder as my old one stopped working. I did my research and decided upon the Rancilio Stile. I looked online and found an open box unit selling for 150 dollars less than everywhere else at Seattle Coffee Gear. I ordered it and received it a day later. Much to my dismay, it was not a Rancilio Stile that arrived, but rather the older Rocky grinder. I called customer service at Seattle Coffee Gear and spoke with the service manager. I was a bit annoyed as I first had to take a picture and email to them to show them what had arrived. OK, I get that there are dishonest people out there and they (the company) have to cover themselves. Well, it turns out that they posted the the wrong item at that price. I responded that it was not my fault that they did so, and expected what I had ordered at the price advertised. "No can do" was the response. But, to be fair the customer service rep. said that he would take it up with management. Long story short, they agreed to give me 15% off a a new one. I was going to be "out" about 60 dollars but agreed and said that I would return the one I had received to the Lynnwood Mall store and pick up the new one. At the store in Lynnwood, I was greeted by Alex. What a great employee! He offered me a 20% discount and included an accessory that brought the price down to what it should have been. I left the store feeling much better and had a positive view of Seattle Coffee Gear. (One star off for my experience with the service manager) P.S. I LOVE this grinder...quiet and even grinding! That's the way it is supposed to work!Excellent job, Alex!!!!
