Well I guess poor business has made it to the marine world, threw $120.00 worth of dried Kiwi Grip in the trash, no interest in jumping thru all the hoops to return, shame PHI has joined the rest of the no-care business world.

Want a dripless shaft seal product that drips just as much as the old flax shaft log you had before?...the one that worked just fine, with regular maintenance for the last 100+ years? The one that could be maintained and refreshed without removing engine coupling, shaft, propeller and rudder in some cases??? Total waste of time with the added benefit that there is a hole in your boat protected by a thin rubber-like bellows. A thin bellows that you would never accept on any other thru-hull below the waterline in your boat?
You could have thrown a full tool box at the old shaft log in our boat without any effect...but now with the PSS "dripless" version by PYI you merely need to gently push the bellows back to have the full force of the surrounding seawater gushing into your bilge. I cannot believe we fell for this.

I used the PYI 3-blade folding Max Prop and PSS Shaft Seals on my Tayana 47 sailboat during my 9 year, 38,000 mile circumnavigation. During the trip, I consulted PYI staff numerous times as I followed their maintenance recommendations for the the Max Prop greasing as well as the replacement schedule for the PSS dripless seal bellows. The products performed wonderfully and kept us safe. Several months ago, I bought a new boat and the shaft seals were a different type and leaking. I put on the PSS Dripless seals and they are working perfectly. Every time I call PYI, I talk to someone who is very knowledgeable and very willing to help.

I replaced the PSS shaft seals in my 54' motor yacht. I had problems with the first set as they would leak occasionally. I had the shipyard replace both sides. I have so much from the bellow onto the collar, which in turn put a lot of pressure on the grub screws that I placed zinc collars in from of the seal to ensure they don't fail. They still leak. They are the worst seal I have every experienced. My previous boat had the packer box. They are so much better and safer. I would not use PSS again in the future. I will have to pay for my yacht to be lifted out the water again and have the shaft seals replaced again, even although they are less than 1 year old. Yes, I have adjusted and tightened them to an extreme level. Yes, I have checked for foreign object in the seal. Yes, I used new grub screws each time. Yes, I have checked the engine alignment. I would not recommend them.

After a couple of month looking for feather props I discovered PYI. Fred helped me with a few questions I had and soon these were installed on my Leopard 58 sailing catamaran and off to the sea we went. After a year of sailing I am so happy I changed to these props, my shafts are not spinning, I have increased thrust in both forward and reverse, and the zincs are very easy to change out. Overall I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to any sailor looking for less drag with increase performance under motor. Thank you Fred!

Have used their products for over 15 years. Went there today to pick up a radar strut for for my boat.The quality and look is awesome! Can't wait to get it on the boat. Service was excellent as usual. Glad to hear about all the new products! Good job guys.
