I just experienced a really frustrating situation at the Petco location. We were passing through the area during a road trip with my toddler and dog, and we needed a quick nail trim for our furry friend. Even though I had called ahead to schedule an appointment for 11:30 am, we couldn't make it at that time as planned. When we called to reschedule for a later time, there were no available appointments. They suggested a walk-up nail trim, something we've done at our local Petco before, so we agreed. However, when we arrived at 1 pm, the groomer at the counter told us we needed an appointment for any service. We explained our situation, but they could only offer an available slot for a nail trim at 3:30 pm because the staff had to go on their lunch break. It was disappointing and frustrating that they couldn't be more accommodating. The way we were treated left us feeling incredibly defeated. It's really disheartening to encounter such a lack of flexibility, empathy, and understanding, especially when you're not from the area and just need a quick service.

I love The Pets, Maybe one or two Staff members and overall the store is 20 stars..... 1 star is due to majority of Sharks that work there. Annoying predictable and are just a pain to interact with. please get out of our Neighborhood store give your job to a real adult and professional :) Complaining Addressing Grievance's to Mgt Etc doesn't work... All certain Associates do is profile, Gossip and harass certain mocked perceived weak or less customers they target for what ever Warped Reason. they dislike me because im awesome outgoing..... i keep my shut when dealing with Certain Staff because im not gonna play into their babyish toxic games....or fall for their Snares..... My Petco Membership afflation Business is more important for thee livelihood of my Pets. .........Period.....Due us all a favor get out of our Store!!!!!!!

Buyer beware!! They have signs everywhere that say buy one get one half off. But even if you buy two items at $27.99ea and 2 items at $9.99ea, they’ll automatically take the “half off” from the two items at $9.99ea.When I brought it up, they didn’t apologize, they simply said that’s the way the system works in the most condescending attitude that you could possibly imagine. I got this reaction from multiple employees. When finally agreed to process the direction, they continued to lecture me how this is done in all retail stores. And when I brought up that they should train their associates better, she then refused to do the correction and told me to call the corporate office because she can refuse to help me process a basic transaction.Even though she wouldn’t do the price match I was entitled to, she wouldn’t say no to giving me a full refund. What a joke of a branch! They make other petco’s look bad. Be on alert for Chelsea! She’ll try to swindle you and talk down to you while doing it.

I want to get some goldfish for my kid, but most of them are dead and still in the tank. I’ve been to the Bellevue and Seattle stores before, and they weren't this bad.

They were honestly really helpful and kind. I wasn't sure what to get my cat, I wanted to get them something healthy; but wasn't very knowledgeable about what is good and isn't. My last food I tried ended up causing crystals in my cats urine and he had to go on a prescribed diet to help. Now he can have normal cat food, but I wanted to get something for both him and my other cat that was better for them. They helped me find something that I think they'll love and was very patient with me when I wasn't sure and was confused etc and I just really appreciate it alot. Thank you guys for helping me with such patience and kindness, it means alot.

Took my dog there today for a nail trim. A guy said he was waiting on a customer and sitting on his grooming table for grooming. Not sure what a walk in service means to you but I waited 15 minutes mins as he is sitting on his butt. It takes 5 min. for my service

I will never come back to do the grooming for my dog anymore. I came to pick up my dog and ring the bell once, no one showed up. I ringed the bell again after five minutes wait, still nobody showed up. Then I pressed the button twice. A guy showed up finally and yelled at me and told me to be respectful??? I told him I have been waiting for a long time. He said he doesn’t care. Never came across someone being so rude.

Everytime I go here, the reptiles are being incorrectly cared for. Bearded dragons need to be kept separate and yet these cages are overcrowded. They also require a minimum 40 gallon as juveniles. There is one good lady there who actually cares about the well being of the animals and she isn't even the animal maintenance person. He just stands there with an annoyed expression. Don't buy animals from here. Do your research on an animal before you invest in a pet and buy from a reputable breeder.

I am incredibly disappointed with my experience at this Petco in Lynwood. After reading into other people's reviews, it seems this is a common occurrence for grooming at this location and many others have experienced almost the exact same thing I did. If you have a golden doodle, I would steer clear. My golden doodle is 2.5 years old and has been going to the groomers for his whole life (since the moment he was allowed to and fully vaccinated). I have had great experiences with a different Petco but something is seriously going wrong at this Lynwood location. As I dropped off my golden doodle, the groomer had quickly done a pat down and noticed he had some matting which I was fully aware of. He has a very curly coat so occasional matting spots is almost unavoidable in hard to brush areas. The groomer had mentioned possibly needing to shave him down which again, I knew could be a possibility. However, I will say, other groomers have been able to work through those tough spots. About 1 hour after I dropped him off, I got a call from Petco that I needed to pick up my dog. They said that between his toes were pretty matted and he was being sensitive in letting them touch his feet. They recommended I take him to a vet that also does grooming. She mentioned that she had to stop completely and only got through the first initial shave down and was unable to continue on. I have NEVER needed to pick up my dog mid-way in grooming due to his behavior. When I picked him up, not only were his feet, head, AND tail not shaved down, but his entire body had random patches of long hair and a completely uneven shave across. It was a complete hack job that looked like someone cut his hair with a blindfold. I understand if they needed to stay away from his paws, but the least they could have done is try to fix what they already started. There was minimal effort to make it look SOMEWHAT decent. Please see the pictures for reference. I will repeat again, I completely understand a groomer needing to shave down a golden doodle for matting. However, when you make zero effort to make a dog look somewhat normal before handing back to an owner, that is completely unacceptable. I called back to see if they could get us in to finish what they started, but they told me the next opening wasn't for another week. There was no sense of apology or sympathy for the way that whole experience went. Unfortunately, I will no longer be continuing to go to Petco for grooming regardless of a different location. I will be a lot more careful where I take my dog. Hope this saves someone from a bad experience!

I have gone to this Petco for years, but today an employee was incredibly rude to us. An employee was filling crickets, and we asked for 36. He refused to get us any until we paid. ( never happened before) even though the check out line was long and we had more shopping to do. We often have to wait for Cricket services, so to have an employee talk down to us like that was quite surprising and a bit shocking. I asked if it was a new policy and he said that it isn’t “normally enforced” What a pain, not worth our trouble. We will be going to PetSmart for our five spoiled animals instead.

Edit: Addition:We have been using the grooming service for about a year now. And I can’t rave enough about JD. He is absolutely amazing with our pups. Always does a very thorough job. And also does a great job at making our dogs feel comfortable. He is worth every penny. And you can tell that he is truly passionate about what he does. Thanks JD!I had so much anxiety leaving my pup for her first grooming appointment. (Bathing service) My pup was also whining as I left her with the groomer. “Don’t leave me mom”Our groomer was Sara. She estimated 1.5 hours which was exactly right. And when I got my pup back, she smelled AMAZING, was super soft and looked beautiful! She showed NO signs of stress… she just gave me a look of “hey, what’s up mom?!”The Nails and hair between paw pads were cut like I requested, and teeth looked great too. We will be coming back!Thank you for taking care of my girl!
