I don’t know how I could have gotten through the loss of my husband without this book. It is unlike any other book on grief that was gifted to me. “ let the process happen. Trust the process. Surrender to it. You will survive “

I only did an online order for pickup, but I got exactly what I wanted at a good price. The staff member was super friendly and quickly grabbed my order. I do wish they could send books to other locations for easier pickup, but that's not really a big deal. I love used book stores, and HPB doesn't disappoint.

The ONLY REASON I'M GIVING THIS REVIEW ANY 1 STAR, IS YOU ARE FORCED TO SELECT MINIMUM 1 STAR WHEN REVIEWING... They DON'T DESERVE EVEN 1 STAR!!
My experience at HPB has definitely been by second hand observations... When you bring books here to sell, they pick and choose which books they decide are valuables or not worthy of anything!! It's a complete RIP OFF!! The employees are VERY RUDE, JOT HELPFUL & LIKE TO B.S. their customers!!! It's ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS & I DEFINITELY WANT TO WARN PEOPLE THAT IF YOU HAVE VALUABLE BOOKS; DO NOT SELL THEM HERE AT HALF-PRICED!!! You might think they're being helpful by offering to pay you cash right then & there, BUT IN THE END IT'S TRULY NOT WORTH YOUR TIME, ENERGY & SACRIFICE OF SOME POTENTIALLY GREAT LITERATURE!!! If you can, certainly research other places to sell your unwanted books, etc... IF YOU CHOOSE HPB, YOU WILL BE DISSAPOINTED!!

The sheer breadth of items here is intoxicating. As capable of delivering a pulp novel or Marvel movie as an Ingmar Bergman collection or Importance of Being Earnest audiobook on tape - and that's just what I spied *today*. Music, Games, Movies, Books, and even Toys (mostly collectibles), all here, for whomever has the cash and wants something new, an old favorite, or a bit of both!
You will not regret visiting, you will only regret not setting a budget. But when you can get the complete collection of Stargate SG-1 and Farscape in one trip, it's worth it long term. (Things sell fast, so if something pictured in a photo is gone, I'm sorry.)

The staff here are wonderful. They are always helpful and ready to give suggestions. Wish the prices were different, but that isn't the staffs fault. Overall pretty good.

First, I have enjoyed perusing the selection here at the Lynnwood Half Price Books. My family has spent many happy hours among the stacks over the past 15 years. But, yesterday, they disappointed.
In 2017, I sold books to them from my collection and took the sale as store credit. Recap: my property sold to this outlet for an agreed upon (but low) price.
I found other merchandise in the store to purchase, rang it up and was issued a $1 receipt for store credit.
I have carried that receipt around in my wallet for years, forgetting that I had it.
Until yesterday, when I was at the cash register purchasing a stack of books, and discovered the credit receipt as I pulled out my card to pay for my purchase.
The clerk looked at this $1 credit receipt and immediately told me that it was invalid, that the store policy is that I had to have used it on the same day it was issued. I looked it over and replied that nowhere on the credit slip did it say that, that the store had taken my books in trade and that $1 credit was still owed to me by the store--otherwise the store would be stealing from me, taking my property for resale without paying me for it.
She turned to another cashier standing behind her and asked her to reiterate the store policy to me, which she did. Such stellar customer service, guaranteed to make the customer feel valued. Not!
I finished my purchase and left the store, but I am still fuming, not over the $1, which is agreeably a small amount, but over the principle of the transaction and treatment, that allows a store to steal from a person who sold them books and shield the theft behind the hollow words, "That's our store policy."
The proper way for the store to have handled this would have been to actually think about what action to take that would keep the public relations positive and make me feel happy about continuing to shop with them, speak highly of them, and share my experiences in their store in a good-marketing way, honoring my store credit receipt (that did not have an expiration date printed on it), and not being a 'parrot', "Awk, that's our store policy!" "Awk, I'm not given the authority to make decisions in my job here!" "Awk, keeping your $1 is more important than honoring our credit receipt!"
And yes, apparently someone does need to tell you how to do your job!
I am (still, a day later) not amused.

This used to be my absolute favorite book store - I love that they’re primarily used, very organized, and a huge selection. I moved away a year and half ago and came back to shop while I was in town - still the same great selection but man… it’s sickeningly expensive. I could hardly find a book under $10. Even old, random and obscure books that would have been $3.99 are now $8.99 +
I genuinely felt disgusted while shopping, it was painful! Anything in like-new condition or hardback was at least $12+. I’m sad. The namesake doesn’t even really apply anymore.

The staff there are kinda weird to talk to. But you can get amazing books here. My grandfather wanted help finding a book that he couldn't find at barns and noble for my grandmother. I told him to check out this place, and they had 3 of them! You can also get manga, magic and Pokemon cards, plus video games. They have something for everyone at an amazing price.

My only complaint is that there are so few Half Price Books stores.
