Joselyn was WONDERFUL! She made me feel beautiful and confident in my look. I came in for a haircut and also to try an updo for my upcoming wedding. Joselyn listened to what I was looking for and took extra time to explain the process and even re-do a couple of options. She even let me bring in products I wasn’t allergic to and made sure to ask if each of her products were ok. She allowed us to video parts of the updo so that my bridesmaids can help to do it on the big day. She was encouraging, patient and an absolute delight. Thank you Joselyn!

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this hair studio (Lynnwood), mainly with their front desk staff, Ennis. My appointment was scheduled for 4:30 and they called me at 3 to ask if I could do 5 instead since the stylist was running late, which I agreed to. 30 mins later, she called me to inform that they have to cancel my 5 pm appointment as well. After waiting for almost 2 weeks, this is the service I was given at the last moment. I am aware that such scenarios are unavoidable at times and I was flexible to the given situation but the way Ennis conveyed this message to me was extremely rude and unapologetic. She did not even address me by my name nor did she apologize for the inconvenience.
The studio's story "As a Family Founded and Employee Centered Salon Company, Elle Marie Hair Studio’s Passion Is and Always will be to Care for, Nurture and Motivate our Team, our Guests, our Community and our Industry" did not reflect the experience I had there. They should train their staff on how to communicate with people from different backgrounds. After this incident, I won't reschedule my appointment nor will I ever go back here.

Made 11am appointment. As a 38-week pregnant mom of one, I am moving slightly slower than normal. There is a 10-min grace period. I walked in at *exactly* 11:10 (and showed my phone to the receptionist), and was told my stylist was no longer available given that the grace period had expired. I declined her offer to reschedule me. This kind of inflexibility is not becoming.

The hair cut was ok but one lady there was downright rude And racist. She doesn't know what it is to be in a service industry.

I don't feel like I was listened to at all. I had a specific hair cut in mind. I was totally ignored and told to see how I like it the way she thought was best. I told her I've had the cut I wanted before so it's not new to me. I ended up with a cut I never wanted that I paid a lot of money for. I don't feel like what I wanted really mattered at all to my stylist. I won't be going back. I could go to Super Cuts and have a better experience. The lady who cut my hair was nice enough. But she needs to make her customers her priority and do what they want. Not what she thinks would be best.

I had a haircut appointment with Maria, but shortly before it, someone from the salon called me, offering to have one of her associates cut my hair instead and suggesting I come in earlier?! Citing some absurd excuse about “training” for the associate.
My guess is that Maria just wanted to clock out early. It was beyond unprofessional, and I had to cancel because I obviously could not trust her with my hair.
Do better!

KATIE D! I would like to share my appreciation for Katie D. at the Alderwood location. Katie has been doing my hair for what feels like a couple of years now. EVERY TIME she does a great job (hair cut, balayage, grey coverage, and regular color). She does exactly what I ask, and/or collaborates with me, when I leave it up to her I am never disappointed. I have found my new stylist! Katie is fun to talk to, gives great advice, and suggests great products to me. I keep telling all my friends and family about how great she is. I also love how dependable she is. Again, I trust her completely, she is a great talent.

A bit disappointed for my Friday evening appointment. I was on time and 8 minutes early, and was told my stylist was just finishing up at 6:30pm. I waited patiently, things happen..at 6:58 I asked why I was waiting so long. “ It will be just a few minutes more”. I could see that it was going to be longer than a few minutes. For better customer service, to let me know by the stylist herself to come out and just say, “hey I’m running a half hour or so behind schedule and wanted to let you know, my apologies”.I would have appreciated that personal acknowledgment for sure.It’s the small things that take just a moment for a customer to want to come back and sit in one of your chairs.

This was last year (I cried a bit after), my stylist was so so sweet but my hair was black virgin…goal was gray. We achieve a horribly straw like yellow.
