I wish the Doctor could have diagnosed my dogs cancer about $700 sooner. Expensive visits.

Dental procedure with no indication of complication and 6 months later my dog is dead after months of pain and other vet visits after her liver was fatally damaged. Do not re commend, they are out of their depth when busy which is always.

We were so pleased with the great results of how the spay operation on our beagle was done. A small incision and our dog was fine in every way which we were surprised to see. The doctor called afterwards to check on her. There were just no problems. No worries with Dr. Dieden.

Two weeks my dog suffered and 500$ later because this vet misdiagnosed my dog. We finally figured out that he only had worms. And not "ulcerative colitis".

A little strange going to the vet during this Covid, but they were very accommodating. Nice people, nice place.

My son and his family's dog became very ill. They took him to their vet in Everett that they have a care plan with. They took an x ray and said he needed to go somewhere else and have an ultrasound and possible surgery for "something circular" in his lower intestine. After calling 20 vets, none would take him even though it was life threatening, because they were "booked out". I immediately called Dr. Jean who without hesitating, had us bring him in at 7 pm after completing a very long and full day. No ultrasound was needed as the x ray could not have been more clear showing the ball in his bowls. Dr Jean operated on him right away and removed the ball. We brought him home after 11 pm. Dr. Jean and her dedicated staff are the very best. They were all exhausted, but still caring and professional. Best vet ever!

Another Great Save by Dr. D. Emergency C-section, and it was complicated. I so appreciate her surgical skills and what a wonderful Veterinarian she is. All of us in the community appreciate her so much. She has saved a boat load of dogs and cats.

We are new to living on Whidbey, but I had accompanied a friend to this clinic previously, so had met Jean and her team and seen them in an emergency situation. My service dog, Theo needed updates on his vaccinations a month ago, which they provided and when I called a few days ago to describe a small dental injury to ask advice, Jean said, "What's going on with Theo?", without me reminding her of who he was or her getting his file. That means a lot to me in finding a partner to care for my service dog. We had that in Seattle and I was afraid I wouldn't find that so quickly in a new location. Thank you Jean!

My experience at Animal hospital by the sea was unpleasant, unprofessional and a complete ripoff. I called them about my 3 year old K9, whom was drooling excessive shoestring drools, was not drinking any water, and had a cracked decaying tooth. I drop him off and get a call from Jean (the Vet) and she tells me that my dog has a shattered tooth that needs to come out and an abscess under his tongue that was caused by an allergic reaction, she then says she tried to drain the abscess but nothing was coming out. She then proceeds to tell me she had to sedate him to do the exam and has given him a dose of an anti-inflammatory and an allergy shot. My partner and I go to pick up my dog, and my dog was still drooling shoe string drools and the abscess was clearly much larger after the exam. I asked if he was able to drink water and she said she didn't even try to give him water! My dog is 2 days without water and I'm shocked that no water or fluids were given to him during the exam, Jean then gives me a syringe and I try to give my dog water, at this point the dog is in my care, the bill was paid, we are outside the clinic, Jean (the vet) leaves and the Vet tech stays. As my partner and I give my dog the syringe the Vet tech then walks up to me and yells at me to put on a mask and continues to force me to move away from my dog and is attempting to show me the "proper way" to restrain my dog and after she gets a little water in him from the syringe she then yells he's drinking! (Obviously he's going to drink the water from the syringe you just forced down his throat... he has no other choice). On the bill I was charged for sedation, a single dose of an anti-inflammatory and an allergy shot, a hospitalization fee, as well as an urgent care fee, when he wasn't seen urgently, he was seen at their next available appt., the bill was several hundred dollars and I still had no diagnosis of what was wrong with my dog. We leave after that and I call a different vet for a second opinion. The next morning I take my dog to the new clinic, in less than 1 minute, the Veterinarian was able to get into my dogs mouth without sedating him, I told him that Jean said his tooth was shattered and showed him the tooth and the abscess, he then says he wants to X-ray the tooth and check out the abscess closer, I get a call later that day and the vet says the Xrays show NO indication of a shattered tooth, only a small crack, the abscess is caused by an injury not an allergic reaction, he drain the abscess which was full of blood, he prescribed 2 weeks of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories, gave me a proper diagnosis, X-rays, offers too send blood work to the lab to be tested, trimmed nails and sedated him all for the same price. I would never recommend this Vet clinic to anyone, my dog was falsely diagnosed, and I was completely ripped off.

This is for pet owners who are deciding on a veterinarian. Dr. Jean is loved and respected by those whose pets are fortunate to be cared for by her and her caring staff. Our Dachshund recently experienced a catastrophic and sudden illness which led to her passing. Dr. Jean's dedication to her was so very caring. She watched over her, treated her with expertise ,and cared for us as we let our beloved pet go. Its Whidbey Island. Welcome.

We are new to S. Whidbey and needed to find a Dr. to care for our 19 year old cat. We knew we would soon be facing the inevitable with Peggy and wanted someone caring and compassionate and found Dr. Jean. We were blessed to find AHS to guide us through that difficult part of pet ownership. We have adopted two Island kittens and are so appreciative of Dr. Jean's knowledge and experience with their care. She is eager to educate and assist us as we grow old with these two wild and crazy kittens. Thank you, Dr. Jean!

My experience has been Dr. Jean always accommodates the unexpected urgent matters with my 3 dogs...and there is always something going on. Dr.Jean is informative and spends the time needed to review any questions or concerns I have about my pets health, especially if it is surgery related. Her years in practice and experience give me peace of mind around her care for my dogs. Her staff are pleasant and follow up with anything you need quickly. The office is beautiful with sta
