I was driving through Lakewood/Tacoma area when my car stopped working. A friend recommended Tevetens and I'm so glad he did. I emailed Tvetens on a Sunday evening, not expecting to hear from them till Monday morning when they opened. The owner called me the same evening and confirmed they could work on my car the next morning. He advised me to call a tow truck early Monday so my car would be at their garage when they opened. I appreciated that even though I don't live in the area, they treated me well. I can see why they have been in business for a long time.

This place is a rip off. Nothing shows me otherwise. After a full diagnosis they said it was nothing to do with a part involving my codes showing up on my trucks computer just their computer. I can't even trust the parts they get. Not one code is showing up. Nothing is showing up on computer noting is showing up.
I wasted a full day. Its even put into the stop until the afternoon.
This is not the first time this happened to me here.
I trust my gut and I don't have to do business here anymore. Everything has reset but not theirs.
All I got is double talk.
My truck is working fine.

First time using this business. Found them to be professional and knowledgeable; they communicated with me about my issue which put me at ease because I maintain my vehicle very well and it's difficult finding a new shop. Been here a few times and ever since the son took over service and customer relations have gone way down. definitely not the "family owned" feel like it used to be. Good technicians and they seem to get the job done, just not a fan of dealing with the owner and office staff.

After having a bad experience in another shop, I gave Tvetens a try. I was happily surprised by the prompt and friendly service. From the first phone call to the complete explanation of issues, I was in good hands. They diagnosed my brake issue and easily made the replacement. They let me know how the brakes would sound and feel the first week or 2 and to bring it back if there were any problems.The cost was half of what I usually paid. I believe they have fair prices and honest mechanics. This is my new auto repair shop for life! I will send all my friends am family there. They will take care of you!!Service: Auto brake replacement

Awesome work done by this company. Had front brakes and rotors installed on my Honda CRV. My car stops on a dime now! Great job and half of what I would have paid another shop. I will be referring all of my friends and family now. Thank you Dan!

Tacoma Subaru did a great job identifying and our 2011 Outback stalling and then fixing it with a new Torque Converter. However, when I left the dealer the car was leaking all coolant so I took it right back to find what was loose. From there, it took a month to get any response from Subaru. Their feedback was it keeps overheating and that it needed new head gaskets - for almost $5000. So we started to consider getting rid of the car. Instead, we took it to Tveten’s for a 2nd opinion - and thank God we did - they confirmed through a chemical test that my head gaskets were fine! They found where some hoses weren’t reattached tightly and tightened them - stopping the leak for good for less than $200. I can’t believe Subaru suggested an expensive head gasket job when they actually just failed to reattach my coolant system tightly. If you’re not sure about anything a dealer or mechanic suggests, I’d strongly recommend getting a second opinion with another mechanic - Tveten’s in Lakewood was great for us. Daniel at Tveten’s always took his time to explain options and considerations for us. He clearly acts in the customer’s best interest and doesn’t try to gouge you for $ - where other shops do. Thank you Tveten’s!

Incredibly happy with this shop and blown away by their customer service! They handled everything with my warranty company and kept me in the loop the entire way; they even worked to get my out of pocket costs lowered and were honest about what needed to be repaired and what could wait. When my daughters car broke down, I started calling around to get it repaired. Tveten's was the only one that would take it right away. They quickly diagnosed and provided me with a very reasonable estimate. Had the car back in less than 48 hours. I would definitely trust them again if one of our vehicles need it. And, they have discounts for AAA, Military, etc.

Tveten's Auto Clinic is a risky and dangerous auto clinic for auto repairs. Don't risk your life!! My tires were re-installed wrong. My tires were loose and almost came off during my drive on the freeway. The mechanics are reckless and management is careless. Terrible customer service!Service: Auto maintenance

Fantastic. I brought in my newly purchased car for an oil change, hoping that I wouldn’t get bad news about it’s condition. They looked over the car and said everything was good, and took the time to explain what all services were due, and which I may want to have done. They also took the time to explain why I should not get my transmission fluid changed if it has never been changed before (I was at 160 something thousand miles). I also had them change out all of my exterior lights. They’re honest enough to have asked me why I wanted my headlights changed, since they worked and it was not entirely needed. (One was a tad dim and I just wanted them to be the same because I am a nonsense human)Services: Oil change

I purchased a used Ford Ranger from a person on craigslist, shortly afterwards I had several problems come up after some highway driving. Tveten's Auto Clinic was able to figure out what needed to be fixed and replaced to get the vehicle to become dependable for me. They have fantastic customer service and complete work quickly. Kathy and Daniel are very friendly and go out of their way to explain things to someone who is out of their field of expertise in a way that can be understood. This is a great place to have vehicle problems solved.
