My son has attended this school for two years and we love it here. Being new parents and new to CoOps we were unaware of what was required. The staff was wonderful during orientation and gave us the information we needed to make the decision to come here. Our son has autism and we were allowed to come during every session, and the growth and development we saw, while giving him the opportunity to be around neurotypical peers was everything we were wanting for him. We've made some wonderful friendships with the parents and am glad that this school is a part of our community. We are transplants, and there was a global pandemic, so making friends was tough not just for our kid, but also for us, so we are glad to have had a place that afforded that to us.Seeing the kids grow with a sense of community is a wonderful thing. Seeing our kid grow and learn new skills, while being in a supportive environment where his needs are seen and understood is everything to me as a parent.

My family has had a positive experience with Steliacoom co-op. As a parent of a child with a speech delay and lack of social interaction due to the pandemic. I have seen my son flower at this school. The Montessori inspired approach through play-based learning has allowed my son to cultivate problem solving and language skills. I enjoy how family focused the school is. This was my first experience for my son not always being near me. Both the teachers Mrs. Kelsey and Mrs.Sam are great at navigating the classroom and solving any concerns families may have. There is always adult supervision for the kiddos since the school supports parental involvement. As a mama bear who is VERY protective of her cubs this is hands down a great and safe space. The school offers many school-wide events for families, and free resources. The tuition is accessible and the quality exceeded my expectations for a preschool!

We have loved being part of this co-op community. My daughter has learned new social skills that she otherwise wouldn’t as an only child. She also has learned through interactive play, rather than just sitting and doing worksheets or being in a seat all day. Ms. Samantha is a caring and nurturing teacher that truly loves each and every one of her students and creates a family like environment for the children and parents alike.Being in a co-op school requires more time and presence as a parent than a traditional preschool, but being able to have an active role in my child’s early education has been so rewarding. We look forward to one more year at the school with Ms. Samantha before going off to kindergarten.

We have had a positive experience at Steilacoom Co-op. The play-based learning environment is what we were looking for in a preschool, and we have been happy with our child’s classroom experience with both teachers, and with their leadership. Ms Kelsey has been very attentive to our child and she does a great job facilitating an environment where he can learn and grow.

The co-op preschool has been a good community for my family. The play-based classroom environment works well for my kid. It is important to note that the parent-led nature requires a significant time/energy commitment, but that is how the tuition stays affordable. I would reccomend this co-op.

The Blue class teacher always seem to cancel a class for her own personal days. But you still have to pay the same amount every month. How ridiculous. A family was dismissed because they complained about this matter. I’m not sure it's worth it anymore. If I could I would totally give this place a ZERO stars!!

This year was my childs 2nd year at this school. Last year was good, she was in yellow class (3 to 4 year olds) and had some improvements. This year is blue class (4 to 5 year olds). First of all there's no structure at all. The teacher Kelsey doesn't teach the kids a single thing, and after the first 15 minutes of class (circle time) its just straight up free time meaning kids do whatever they want for a full hour. Then they have another circle time in which she reads a book but speed reads it just to get over it as soon as possible. Then its snack time for 30 min then its more free play for the remainder of the time. Like i said, theres no structure and theres no teaching. Also the "teacher" Kelsey and Diana stone were self diagnosing my child saying shes "of the spectrum" when my child's pediatrician said there's nothing wrong with her besides a speech delay. My child has been terminated, and im assuming its because we simply were trying to voice our concerns with the teacher and they busted a 1st grade move and sat in a meeting to vote on terminating our child. But they terminated her without giving us a reason why.

No structure. Kelsey teacher is not nice and does not teach class. Is like daycare. When I go there I just see she too busy talking to man and not pay attention to children. All children run around rip and hit each other. She do not look like she like to teach.

Blue class teacher kelsey lets kids hit each other in class. If she is "friends" with a parent, that parent's kid gets away with everything while every other child gets in trouble. My child prefers the other teacher. Kelsey doesn't care about the kids. She seems more interested in talking to a specific gentleman the majority of the time there than teaching the class. She thinks she's superior and everyone else's feelings do not matter. She doesn't understand that in the long run, earning respect with a kind heart works better than trying to intimidate all of the parents into submission. She is an emotionally disturbed, manipulative individual who can not make true friends.

After further discussion of what I thought was miscommunication, it only led to more trashy behavior. The majority of the board members continued to show clicky/ biased behavior. I am happy to say that since taking my child out of this "school," she has thrived. Her new teacher is an awesome "educator" who actually teaches with structure. I guess things happen for a reason. I can actually leave my child at school without feeling anxious, and always on edge, or get a phone call 30 minutes after leaving, just to hear that kelsey can't handle all the children, despite having 3-4 helpers there. Ratio is up to 17 kids at its max capacity (usually there are fewer children). I thought I could try to update this review to a more positive one, but after speaking with the board, there's no way I'm going to hide how my family has been treated. Kelsey shows classic behaviors of a narcissist.

Love this school. There are always new projects for kids to do and learn new things. It's very affordable for all families and the classrooms are very clean.
