Consistently rude staff, popular items always placed on the top shelf out of reach (and staff get rude when you ask for a step ladder or other help), checkout lanes always blocked with end caps so that I cannot unload my cart, and products frequently out of stock.
The only good thing I can say about this store is that the bathroom doors do not have locks, unlike other safeways, Fred Meyer, etc. I need a functional bathroom while shopping, and this is the only grocery near hawks prairie that meets this barebones minimum standard.

Zac at the self checkout is a terrible look for this store, I have been going to this location for 10 years and overall everyone is VERY friendly. The first time I needed his assistance in beverage and before he approached me he shoved a HUGE piece of gum (like big league chew) in his mouth and couldn’t even speak, not that I think he would have. Today I came in and was shopping as I approached self check it was him, a tall dark haired kid and a shorter long haired kid in a huddle talking as a couple literally walked out with a number of items not paid for in there arms. I said hey guys someone just walked out with a bunch of things they didn’t pay for, before anyone could say anything Zac laughed and said “oh well” and I said oh well? And he said yeah oh well and walked off with the tall dark haired kid. The longer haired one came over looked at the window and acknowledged it at the very least, and he was very nice and offered great customer service. Do you really want an “oh well” not once but twice from someone stealing from your store? I understand theft is a huge problem right now and your hands are tied, but WOW. What a punk.

The hot food in the deli needs quality control, this is my third experience (should have learned from the first two) where the food is burned. Seems like it sits in there all day. The first time was when they just started carrying chinese food again. The employee was complaining that they had to carry it. Went in midday Saturday and passed on getting hot food because it was burned, and again today had the same issue. Seems like it sits out all day. I have no issues at any of the other local Safeway’s.

I've never had a bad customer service experience here, but we moved to the area over a year ago and have had regular issues with products going bad before their expiration date (mostly dairy products), or products on the shelves being expired (that was specifically a vegan cream cheese that was over a month past it's best by date, I didn't notice until we got it home). Today I opened a protein bar and it was best by March 2024, but my husband bought it this week, at the end of April. I'm starting to feel like we either need to check the expiration of everything we buy, or start driving an extra ten minutes to the one on Yelm Hwy.

Easy to shop for what you're looking for, sometimes crowded and aisles are inadequate for large numbers of people trying to navigate the store.

Customer service. I was sold soggy old cold greasy food. I asked the cook how long had the food been sitting, he said 4hours. See picture below, this is what was being sold to customers.

I feel like everytime I go in the store at night there's a blond lady and I feel like she thinks I'm shoplifting or has in the past, not sure but I come here daily and it makes for a uncomfortable experience everytime I see her. Also the deli clerk with the glasses can be rude at times, other than that the store is mid.

Rude employees, especially in the deli and food counter area. Gave me burnt food, and the place is filthy. Won't be coming back.
