My son attended the preschool program for a few months. UntilHe came home with a very obvious and concerning injury obviously caused by another student without being informed of any incident occurring that day. The situation was handled very poorly and we decided to pull him from the program. Not sure I would feel comfortable going back.

I haven't been to other gyms but this one is awesome. My 8 year old even started an "America Ninja Warrior" type class at the same time his 6 year old sister does gymnastics.

I’ll start out by saying this place is better than the last center we went to for gymnastics. However, my daughter is 4 and in the level 1 class with other kids her age. She’s attended gymnastics for a long time but is unfamiliar with some of the names they call the poses on the beam stands. She doesn’t understand what “beam feet” means and they haven’t helped correct her on it either. I did mention this to them the first class and they just replied “oh it’s ok”. While the coaches in the Thursday morning class are better at addressing the kids, I feel like they sometimes are frustrated with my daughter because she did not attend THEIR kinder class, so she’s not on the routine the other girls are. And they won’t spend any individual time with her to help correct what they’re getting frustrated with. She has fun so I am happy for that.On a side note, the last gym we went to did not smell this bad, and the owners are cheap so if the weather is cool outside, they won’t run the air or a fan AT ALL. I actually have almost fainted a couple of times because of how musty and muggy it gets inside when they leave all the air off. This costs each kid $100 a month, you can afford to rent a carpet extractor and run a fan when it’s over 70 degrees inside. Lady at the desk seemed too busy to hear my feedback so hopefully they read this.

We were really excited to start the tod fit class as my toddler is so active at home we wanted to give her a safe space to explore and be able to be wild. As a teacher myself, I was really disappointed in the “teaching” or lack there of. I don’t think it’s any fault of the teachers, but they didn’t seem well trained or equipped for the classes and had minimal to no child development understanding. My child cried hysterically for all 6 weeks we did this class. It’s very chaotic. There’s several classes going on at the same time and kids running everywhere. The instructors acted as if we knew exactly how to show our kids how to do different stations. I’m sure if you are looking for an intense program on getting your kid to the Olympics, this would be perfect. But for the rest of us who are looking for developmentally-appropriate, engaging activities that are taught by well qualified staff, the toddler classes here are not for us. We recently tried another gym and it was wonderful. So it wasn’t that my daughter hated gymnastics, she just hated gymnastics here.

We do not attend this gym regularly but we were there today for a meet. My daughter had nothing but wonderful things to say about the girls on their team. She said they were very kind and welcoming and gave her lots of high fives and compliments. The meet itself ran smoothly from start to finish. We had a great time in this space and given the opportunity would definitely attend another meet here with these gracious hosts!!

My daughter went here for almost a year but it was not a great experience. The front desk staff were always unfriendly and extremely unhelpful. For the beginner gymnastic classes, the coaches were always calling out and always looked like they hated their job. She never connected with any of the coaches even when she tried to. The whole area is not ventilated well so the chalk dust would make it just miserable to stay and watch the classes. Happy to be done with this place.

The little ninja class on Sunday morning is chaotic and inconsistent. The gym is very crowded on the weekends. The coaching in particular is spotty—some coaches were great (Coach Abby) and others seemed disinterested in children. The front desk staff is neither kind nor interested in being helpful. Weekend classes are frequently cancelled due to holidays or tournaments and the token makeup class system is cumbersome to use. All in all, not a great value.

Beyond disappointed in the gym. The structure in which they run their toddler fit class continues to set kids up for failure. The expectation that they can stand around and watch for any length of time from a developmental standpoint is irresponsible. The revolving number of coaches that my son has had in his time here is ridiculous. Their lack of communication through social media as well as email is piss poor at best. Don’t waste your money. Their customer service is awful.

We were at Black Hills for about a year. I have a 7 year old who has been doing gymnastics for four years and a 5 year old who started and stopped gymnastics at Black Hills. On the good side, Maddie at the front desk is overworked but a wonderful and hardworking person. Also, it seems clear to me they are fostering incredible talent with young people. The level of skill for the kids who get attention is impressive. My 7 year old was accepted into Xcel prep team. She made a close friend and really found a passion for bars.Over summer, Coach Conner said she was lacking in focus. Most of the kids were out for the summer. My daughter was camping and attending art, math and sailing camps. Her world view was broadening. Also, I was kind of transient at the time and waiting for my apartment to come through. Our routine was disrupted. While she was happy, she maybe fell out of love with gymnastics for the summer.I thought about my run with soccer as a little girl and I fell in and out of love with it, but was still committed for over a decade. I think that alone is a valuable lesson.Coach C and I set up a system where I knew if she gave 100% during practice and would get her a treat if she did.She refocused but I think Black Hills gave up on her before the fall session. She was separated from her close friend and spent four hours a week doing stretches and beams. She didn't learn new skills and never returned to the bars she loved so much. Coach Conner stayed with a group of more focused children and a wonderful and kind young woman took over with my daughter's new group. My daughter became bored and restless. Her love of gymnastics dipped further than before. First, my youngest asked to take a break from gymnastics (I just don't think it's her thing). Then my oldest asked to take a break.I was terrified her love for gymnastics was forever altered. I asked her to talk to her coach. While young people make great coaches, they don't always know how to inspire the way perhaps an older coach might. The coach kinda shrugged her shoulders and told me my daughter wanted to try other sports.I was hoping maybe my daughter would get more encouragement. Anyway, eventually she asked to try another gym. I think that is the right choice. We had such a positive experience at the gym in Kirkland, I am sorry to see her love and enthusiasm dip. It is a life lesson though! The guest wifi doesn't work most of the time which can result in the commiseration of bored parents in the parking lot. My personal hell is the little room with the cubbies when classes transition. There are so many people and no personal space.I think if your child is ordained by the coaches, it could be an intense but enriching experience. My child, however, doesn't deserve to be left on the sidelines. And not for the same cost in tuition.

Our daughter came to gymnastics here, and we also attended a birthday party here for a friend of my son's. great indoor space with lots of room. Everything feels sprung, giant floors for kids to run and bounce on. We haven't done any serious gymnastics yet, but judging by the banners and awards hung everywhere, this place is definitely serious. The equipment all looked exactly like what you would see in a professional competition, and I did not notice anything that looked worn out or unused laying around. There are tons of things to learn and try and it seems appropriate for all skill levels. Considering how rainy the area can be, this seems like a great idea for keeping kids indoors and active in the rainy times. My daughter wants to continue coming here and we likely will.

Love this gym they do cheer gymnastics, and tumbling, it's a pretty clean gym but the bathrooms sometimes have toilet paper messes but it's never that bad they also have nice music playing sometimes.
