As much as it pains me to write this, I believe this will be our last stay. The quality and service at LC Channel Lodge have both declined significantly in the last 18 months. We've stayed here four times in the last 18 months, twice over the Christmas Holiday. On our most recent trip, we booked the lodge for 6 nights. We checked into our room, and weren't thrilled with the condition of the furniture, but we were willing to look past that.Until we tried to go to sleep. We both woke up in the middle of the night, unable to sleep. The bed was like sleeping on a sheet of plywood. My wife got dressed and went downstairs at 12:30 AM and the desk clerk said that she could move us to another room for our whole stay. My wife asked twice about this, and was assured it would be for the whole 6 nights. So we took what we needed to sleep and moved to the new room (we had to accept a non-water view room, but our sleep is more important). The desk clerk agreed with us that we should just move everything to our new room in the morning.Which we did. Not a small feat; we had our family's Christmas gifts, Christmas tree and Christmas decorations. This was, after all, where we were going to celebrate Christmas, just like last year.We asked the desk clerk to ask to manager to please contact us to discuss the situation when she arrived. After waiting for about an hour, she arrived at our room. Completely on the defensive! Arguing the quality of the furniture ('Well, our newer furniture is on back order"), and the quality of the bed in our original room ("It's less than six months old, and it's a pillow top mattress"). I can assure you, it is NOT a pillow top mattress.Anyway, after being extremely defensive, she then let us know that her desk clerk the night before had made an error - our new room WASN'T available for our whole trip, and we'd have to change rooms - AGAIN - on our last night!??Well, we weren't unpacking, packing and unpacking a third time at this less than fabulous hotel. Its charm has severely worn off over the years. The 'breakfast' is a joke. Even last year (2022), they TRIED to make things nice on Christmas Day with some quiche dish. Not this year. They decided to stick with the bare minimum. The fruit offering consisted of orange slices, apple slices, green grapes and red grapes. They used to have flavored creamer and non-dairy options for your coffee; but there were no 'alternative' cream options for the coffee. Anyone who is lactose-intolerant will be looking elsewhere for coffee. In our first morning, we watched multiple couples look over the sparse offerings, and opted to leave without partaking. Any Best Western has a better breakfast offering, and we aren't fans of Best Western. There is no housekeeping unless you ask for it, but that seems like it's becoming the norm nowadays. The beds - which vary greatly in quality from room to room - have this weird metal/aluminum base. If you touch it accidentally getting into or out of the bed, it sounds like someone hit the side of an empty oil drum.Strangely, though, prices haven't fallen with the elimination of housekeeping. But again, that appears to be an industry standard now.In a positive note, they have decorated the lobby beautifully for Christmas, and the rooms and exterior have been repainted recently. There used to be a wine reception, but no longer. They do give you a coupon for a tasting at Hellam's next door, but they were closed a couple days during our stay.I guess if you're a light packer, staying for a few days only, don't care about the quality of the bedding, and you don't eat breakfast anyway, this might still be a good option for you.

The positives: The location is excellent, the King Suite was a good size and the parking provides easy access to the room. Unfortunately the fan on the heater could wake the dead (and it cycles constantly), the fireplace only lit across half of the faux log and the room is extremely dim. The lighting is very inadequate, and the showerhead is dinky. Lastly, I haven't seen TVs this small in 10+ years.

Stayed here for my wife's birthday. First of all, not sure who's idea it is to rate this a two star hotel...makes no sense. It is MUCH nicer than that would indicate. The room was immaculate with a great water view, a small balcony, very comfortable bedding and a really homey feel. Really nice front desk person and check in experience...and...cookies! And these are not out of some package, they were excellent. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night...we would liked to have stayed two nights so we could enjoy the room for a full day. Will definitely be back!

Room is small, but cozy. Has a gas fireplace. Overlooks the channel. Would definitely stay again.

It was the most relaxing weekend my hubby and I had in a long time. This hotel, even though it's considered a 2 Star does NOT reflect it at all. The only thing missing in the room was a microwave, other than that it is clean, no smell, and no pets allowed (we had to leave our wee ones at home ). This smallish town was filled with seniors, coupled or single, family of 3 or 4 is really, can't help saying that it is, simply perfect! Also, you have to bring whatever fun you have in mind without including technology i.e. laptops or tablets. I did a bit of crocheting . We would come back to this lodge/hotel time and again. I don't want to forget that there was live entertainment in the lobby, pianist Carl. Excellent stay, and accommodations.

Great location and the room/breakfast will make you think this is a 3+ star hotel. The service for breakfast was amazing - the team working the breakfast was so hard working. The staff at the front desk though was not polite at all.My family stayed for whole week and not once did anyone at the front desk say a greeting (good morning, hello, good evening). NOTHING. Very surprising but if you don't the lack of warmness - the hotel is a good for location, cleanliness and breakfast staff. We saw porpoise, seals, bald eagles all from our balcony overlooking the channel.Walkability: Easy to all restaurants/cafes/bars/shops

We absolutely fell in love with the Channel Lodge, the room was super clean and comfortable, not to mention being beautiful. A small balcony looks out over the channel with all the boats and sail boats and the Rainbow Bridge, which was gorgeous in the sunrise. It is close to shopping (be sure and check out all the streets, not just the main street.) Our grown daughter was with us, and she had a separate bedroom with her own bathroom and shower, and it worked out perfectly! There is a large area to sit outside by the channel, and there was the best hotel breakfast I have ever had, with a really pretty balcony surrounded by flowers to sit on to eat it. I would recommend this to anyone, and we do plan on returning!

I love that you can open your windows to let the cool breeze in. A view of the water boats, and Indian Reservation is fantastic. The room was cozy with wood windows and regular blinds and felt like home. Super comfortable with nice breakfast and outdoor tables and chairs. The coffee was excellent. Very relaxing. Enjoyed shops, bookstore and eateries. We want to come back!Rooms: Smells like fresh air. Comfy bed and sitting chairs.Nearby activities: You can book a tour of nearby islands n ports.Walkability: Interesting shops to walk to. A grocery store is within walking distance and if you like wine there are nice tasting rooms.Food & drinks: Walking to nearby restaurants is easy. I love not having to get back in the car.

It was a great two night staycation. We will definitely be back. The walk to pioneer park was nice before all the shops opened up. The meals around town were all very good as well.

I'd give this place a two-part rating. The lodge/accommodations get 5 stars. The staff is accommodating and friendly, the room was very comfortable and had a great view of the water. The location is close to everything in the town. The one negative- the continental breakfast was uninspired and lacked effort. They had decent cut fruit and acceptable muffins, but otherwise didn't look like it was worth the calories. My suggestion would be to skip it and hit the Scone Lady's shop next door.
