Spent over 2 months waiting for a critical medication to be submitted to my insurance from the Rheumatology team. All parties pointed to the Virginia Mason team as never having sent it. Only ever received notes that it was being sent any minute now.No response or help from the doctors or staff to remedy this.

Receiptionist/Schedulers are not professional and are unwilling to help patients with their appointments. Please hire people who are actually professional and problem solvers. Since the moment I picked up the phone, I could notice how the lady was already in a bad mood. I was previously told that I could schedule my appointment with any provider and when I call to re-schedule my appointment, one of the ladies working the morning shift on 3/22 was unwilling to schedule me to see another provider and told me I needed to wait until May. This information is innacurate and she was just being arrogant because she didnt want to help me.

I have used the virginia Mason in Kirkland as my primary care provider for a number of years now. Dr. Lars Kaine was great. I would have my yearly health check up and he was competent. Unfortunately, he moved out of state, so i had to switch. This year, I met with Dr Jonathan Y. Mou. He is a talker, and chit-chats about a bunch of things - mainly about computer games and whether the graphics card he has is still good enough etc. I didn't mind it that much during the visit, but they ended up charging me for twice the visit!I am sure there are other good doctors in this clinic, but stay away from Dr. Jonathan Y. Mou.

Made an appointment on the VM portal. Received an appointment reminder via VM. Arrived at the specified appointment time to check in for my appointment. The receptionist was as a loss for words. Apparently my appointment was cancelled thru the portal in the morning with no phone. Had to do with the physician reaching an OT rate. Messaged the physician. Was told to contact patient care. Nobody answered the phone. Left a VM and no call back. Go figure.

As a PSA since no one notified us and perhaps you might need this tidbit of information, the main number listed that use to go to scheduling for all departments now only goes to Primary and Internal medicine. If you are calling to schedule testing such as a colonoscopy, you have to dial and different number. Found this out after waiting on hold for 15 minutes. Oh, and hands down the very worst on hold music in the universe. Blaring fuzzy jazz is the last thing I want to hear when not feeling well.

Danielle at Kirkland Virgina Mason was incredibly rude. Wow.I got a letter that said I missed my appointment but then a text saying my appointment was a different date. She immediately accused me of forgetting my appointment. No I didn’t forget, cee you next Tuesday, I’m asking why I got a letter saying I missed my appointment when I got a text confirming the date for the future? She was so rude immediately I couldn’t believe it. I had a simple question and she went straight to accusation.Better customer service training is needed.

The specialists seem fine, but the primary care docs OMG. It took 3 doctor visits to diagnose an ear infection. One doctor didn’t even look in the infected ear. I finally got diagnosed at Evergreen.

Totally insane experience. We had an appointment at 4:30 with my young kids on a Friday. Delayed til 4:45, and after treatment they had to wait 30 minutes. Ok, it happens. My wife left the kids to get an iPad they could watch while waiting—and discovered trying to get back that the elevator to VM on floor 3 was locked—as were the stairs. In other words, the young kids were in a waiting room alone while their parent was locked out. Frantic calls to try to get our kids through the building and VM central were unanswered—until I found a VM employee from the central call center but she could not help. Finally after 30 minutes my wife found a VM employee going to their car and asked to use their badge to use the elevator. When she got to the kids (one is 9) they were alone and confused in an essentially empty building 30 minutes after closing time. This is extremely negligent and insane. I am livid.VM Kirkland must review their procedures and ensure dangerous gaps like this cannot happen. That you’d have patients in the building while the doors are locked is not only dangerous but possibly illegal in Washington state.

Ophtomology Department,Last November, I had eye routin exam at Ophthalmology department, Everyone respectful and great. The only part made me so disappointed is receptionist didn’t tell me Virginia Mason doesn’t accept my eye care insurance. I got “$450” bill So I called Viginia Mason billing department and basically they couldn’t help me. It was very hard to pay, my insurance just willing to pay $50 out of network So if she told me at the first day I just have to pay “$15”copay instead of $450.

Cancelled my appointment three times over a month. Saying the doctor was sick at each time my appointment was scheduled. No alternative to see another doctor. And we pay for this ? No thanks !
