Great rail shop, especially for Lionel and Garden Scale. However, lacking in a selection of HO. Wonderful service, willing to answer any questions you might have.Edit; Visiting the area again, had to stop by. Remains an awesome shop!

The prices are good and they have a large store with a good selection of inventory. The gentleman working there was very knowledgeable, but very salty. It's 100% self-service unless you ask a question, in which case you will only get an answer with no suggestions. The train store would be fantastic with true sales associations. I would also recommend running the train layouts.

Went there on a Friday morning. A lot of staff standing around talking with each other. The conversation while it was not X rated was at a level I consider unprofessional for a retail store with customers in the building, talking about bodily functions. We also overheard the same staff commenting about wanting to "find a sucker" to buy a certain train they had in stock, not the most confidence inspiring statement to hear nor something that would encourage me to spend my money there. We left at that point. This is a nice store with a great selection of O gauge but limited HO and no used HO but they did not inspire me to go back. We then went to the Electric Train store in Burien and spent money on some pristine used German HO trains at a reasonable cost and had a decent chat with the owner too. Retailers need to take care when talking internally and not openly discuss things that can negatively harm their business and the customers experience.

Service counter is helpful in finding out what’s wrong with your train. There is a service fee if they have to do a real diagnostics test (around $20) but sometimes they’ll do a quick look.Repairs ARE booked out a ways due to parts being back ordered.

Haven't done service or repair in years, never run their display trains, took down their Thomas table. Haven't replenished g scale stock in a LONG time. Just waiting for their going out of business sale.

Eastside Trains is the place to go to buy and have your train repaired. However, it's disappointing to hear about their service struggles that they're two years behind on repairs and are not accepting new repairs. There is no waiting list. I was told I will need to call in the future anywhere from the beginning of the year to spring time and ask if they're accepting new repairs. This bothers me personally because it's inefficient for their staff to answer the phone to tell people that they're not accepting new repairs. I personally believe technology could be introduced to help their service department not be overwhelmed and to give people waiting an idea of when they could eventually bring in their train for service in addition to providing management an idea of the future potential incoming work.I will certainly be back in the future whether it's to buy a new train set or to get my current train repaired and I do recommend others to visit this store and support local.

This place was amazing. I came in here with little to no knowledge of trains. These guys knew everything I didn't feel like they were up selling me. They just gave me my best options. I'm so grateful of this business

Been a customer here since I was 4, Johnny and all the others that run this place have been very professional with what they deal with, never had any sorts of problems with stuff I've gotten from them, they have a decent selection for S scale trains and N Scale as well as O and HO Scale locomotives.
