A person’s attitude goes a long way; good or bad. As a customer facing business, you never want to be condescending in any of your interactions. I know having these toys can be expensive and we trust the "experts" when it breaks. Many times is the treatment that breaks the trust, no matter what the dollar amount is to fix it. I’m not a mechanic but checking the essentials of what an engine needs to start is common sense (battery, gas, spark, starter).I had an issue with my 2015 outboard motor where the engine starts, stays on, but shuts off when it hits past 1900 rpm. The first shop I took it to wasn’t able to duplicate the problem and suggested testing the boat in the water, which was extra $$. Still then it wasn’t guarantee they’d find the problem. So, I decided to take it here since their diagnostic fee was reasonable and they had 10+ years of experience. Talked to Chris over the phone. Said drop it off at the beginning of the week and give them a few days to see what’s going with it.Dropped it off and since they’re M-F, I didn’t call until the following week. Called the Monday after, Chris said Joe was doing something to the boat a couple days ago and now it has no spark. I had asked Chris to call me back asap when he can gets an update. Anxious to know what the problem “could” be, fix it, and maybe get it out on the water before summer ends.No call back so I called at the end of that week. This time talked to Joe. Told him I was a little concerned about my motor. Being it was idling fine when I brought it in and now it won’t start at all. In our conversation it was apparent, “If your boat wasn’t working, you wouldn’t have brought it in.” was said a couple of times. Not sure because it was a Friday or they wanted to close the shop at 3 in the afternoon, but had me wait until the following Monday if I wanted to pick it up.Came in the next Monday, paid the diagnostic fee. I had to put several pieces of the motor back, covers, filters, trash because I didn’t want them to fix the motor. For some odd reason I couldn’t put the trim back up. The door to the cuddy was opened when I locked it before drop-off (engine is not in the cuddy). Asked Chris who was helping me with getting the boat out, he said he had nothing to do with it.Took the boat home and checked a few things. Sure enough the battery was fully drained. Charged up the battery. Next day I was able to put the trim up and started the boat. Started up but shuts off after a few seconds. Now I’m left with a motor that’s in a far worst condition before I dropped it off. What happened during the two weeks? Not sure, but I’m not going to trust any mechanic with $1000+ to fix an engine if they can’t do their due diligence of troubleshooting why an engine won't start. Hope this constructive feedback is taken into consideration towards the next interaction and maybe it will turn out positive.Service: Engine repair

Don't come here!! This place is terrible, I took a PWC to get fixed here took it out the next day after i received it and it broke again, I took it back and they insisted I broke it by getting the starter wet when no water got inside nor did i flip it the PWC. Turned on once and never turned back on. We also settled on a price and turned out I had to pay way more than what we agreed too. These guys are also very rude and bad at business, I would not recommend, take your business elsewhere!

Chris & team are the epitome of straight shooters, and really good at what they do. The quotes are always within reason, and I've never had any surprises. Most importantly, they've earned my trust. When I did my "get it running" appointment (couple years back) on an 80's Evinrude outboard that had sat for 10+ years, I was shocked to get a call saying it didn't actually need the carb rebuild that they initially recommended based on the timeline. I got my boat back within days, running perfectly, and for less money than I expected to pay. Fast forward to '21, when they called saying they needed to go a bit deeper on a different job to get it right, knowing I could trust them made the spend substantially less painful.Services: Tune-ups

Brett at CJ Marine is honest, to the point and efficient. Brett did a well done job the two times I’ve taken my Crownline 240 EX to his shop. He was able to fit me into his schedule at short notice which is not common yet was extremely appreciated. We all wana be on the lake. Thanks to a solid connection like Brett and the fellas @ CJ Marine - I feel great knowing I’ll always get back on the water is my boat has any problems.Services: Tune-ups
