I walked in the front door to the happiest smiling face ive seen all day... The front desk clerk's name was Ash. She was so knowledgeable about the area, amenities, willingness to explain the area, got me in a first floor ADA accessible room, great wifi, very clean and comfy rooms with tv, fridge, microwave, Great AC, lots of nice shampoos and lotions, nice water pressure in shower, etc...
Overall, a great experience from the check-in all the way to departure time, again, sometimes the first impression of a Happy face can make or break a positive review, Ash made my day and stay just fantastic.
Rooms: Great rooms, beds, linens, ac, shower, tv, fridge, micro, laminated flooring and parking
Nearby activities: Lots of places to eat, walkable
Safety: I felt very safe, well lit parking lot with double door locks
Walkability: Everything you need is walkable between 5 and 15 minutes.

Moving to new city and had gap In between residence, I needed an affordable and relaxing place to stay with my two dogs until our new home was ready.
Affordable long term stays are already hard to find but clean and safe were even harder. I was so grateful to find the Kalama inn. Although it was a older hotel and further out than I originally wanted to stay, I don’t regret the decision as it has been a wonderful stay and everything I need in close walking distance making my days feel productive. My nights peaceful and kind folks in community were welcoming which made me feel very much at Home.
Nearby activities: Across the way is the famous Columbia river they have a new indoor public market, which I have not yet seen but heard good things and of course the northwest favorite McMenamins but so far I’ve really enjoyed the little old town Main Street. Everyone is so nice and everything i need right here.
Walkability: Grocery store, restaurants, gas, library, mail, laundromat, parks and green spaces all in clise walking distance. It a pretty incredible Main Street with everything you need right here and the whole community is dog friendly.
Food & drinks: For such a small town it has a wonderful diverse array of restaurants, you’ve got a nice restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner next-door. You have the best Chinese and Southwest Washington and the burger bar that’s known for strawberry shakes. That are absolutely incredible.great lil park at end of street to enjoy picnic or beverage with dogs or kids and the small home town atmosphere that is so nice.

Some may call this just a motel, or just a place to sleep while in town to fish, but my family and I called this home for 3 months. I just got done reading the reviews on this place and they are massively misleading, so I won’t even spend the time or energy addressing them, only sharing our experience. Through a whirlwind of events we found ourselves in need of a temporary place until our daughter could finish school and the Hotel Kalama was perfect. The manager and staff were helpful and always friendly to myself and family. We never felt unsafe or unhappy. We made this place home, and I would recommend this place to anyone. The Motel is a little older, but that adds to its charm. I would write 10 five star reviews if I could. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

First time at a 2 star hotel, and it will be my last. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even when I had to request a room that didn’t smell like cat urine. I was glad I happened to have a towel in my car, because the dingy white ones were a turn off. I honestly worried about sleeping on the well-worn pillows and wish I had brought my own.
On the plus side, there was hot water, an air conditioner and fridge, which both worked, some hangers in the closet, a bible in the drawer (if you’re into that) and it was conveniently located and affordable.

The rooms were disgusting
Richard the manager should really take classes on management and hospitality as he was incredibly rude. The lady we had the first night was kind and caring and very helpful with the disgusting pillow case that was on the bed. Both bedding sets had burn holes, we had to wear shoes the whole time because the floor was so dirty my daughters feet were black after 5 minutes of being in the room, there was hair in the shower, towel with poop looking on them, I had no towels when going to shower and received 1 when asking, When my mom called for an extra towel they made her exchange the 1 towel she had for a new one and we were told we should expect at their price range the dirty mess pretty much.
Rooms: Dirty beds
Dirty floors
Burn holes in most linen on beds
0
Dog poop in every area of grass or dirt around the hotel

This place does not deserve a star at all, Manager is a loud mouth who loves to scream at anyone who interrupts with his working on one of his several cars that are taking up customers parking.
There is so much maintenance needed that the maintenance man could not possibly keep up.

Don't stay here. The staff was extremely rude, the room had a terrible smell, the air was stuffy, there were stains on the sheets. The pillows were old. We had prepaid for our stay and left to stay at a different hotel--that's how bad it was.

The staff was amazing and very friendly and was happy to fix our issue promptly.
The room however was absolutely horrible.
-The bed was uncomfortable and hard as a rock.
-Only given a few thin blankets to sleep with and the pillows were very sad too.
-The remote was nasty dirty and hadn't been cleaned in awhile. The floors were kinda sticky and dirty.
-There were questionable stains on the walls.
-the lock to the door was broken.
-The bathroom was pretty sad
Overall I would not stay here again and suggest you don't either. If you end up with room 103 I would def get a new room. If the hotel does see this please update your rooms.

I went to the front desk to let them know my car died over night, they told me it would be okay to get someone there to try and fix it. Turns out, I needed a whole new battery. I didn’t think this would be a problem since I paid for 3 nights. It was a problem. This manager is what will make this place go down hill, that along with the purple haired troll. It was absolutely ridiculous that 2 hours later we were being told we had to leave because we gave the manager attitude. We did give the manager attitude because he is a self centered narrow minded Individual. Comes out of his bedroom heated because we are still working on this car. No warning, nothing. Just bad vibes, which is funny because in some of these comments they wish happiness, but they lack so much of it. Anywho- cops were called, they even laughed at these trolls and we left somewhere 10 times better. It’s not even worth the hassle, these individuals are TRASH.

Room had minimum items: bed, TV, table, 2 chairs, bathroom but the towels were threadbare and one wash cloth was very much stained. Had to ask for toilet paper as installed roll was out after one sitting.
Quiet room even though hotel is next to freeway and across the freeway is major train switching area.
Nearby activities: McMenimim is close by.

I liked the room for the price. the bed was comfortable. there wasn't a lot in the room. just a microwave, a fridge, a table with a few chairs and a tv on the wall. Bathroom seemed to have recently been renovated.

Awesome people and the hotel is more than a two star hotel. The story alone is worth 5 stars ??. I would stay with you again and again.
Noteworthy details: Elvis!!!! To cool.

Horrible experience. Room was not clean, smokers everywhere outside our door. Music playing loudly next to us. No one at the office to address the problem. Had to call police to tell them to shut the music down.Needless to say we won't be back.
