I walked in hoping to shop with my fiancé for our wedding. Within 2 minutes the owner was belittling and berating us and telling us to “go to the other side of town”.choose kindness instead of unnecessary rudeness!

walked in to look for some antiques for our wedding and this horrible woman started berating us and talking down to us. It was the most uncomfortable experience of my life and i left feeling extremely belittled for no reason at all. deserved 0 stars.

Strange lady lecturing about how she doesn’t understand all this “gender stuff” and how the other shops in town suck.

Very unpleasant experience in this antique shop…Went to Kalama to do some antique shopping for the day and this was the first stop. Walked in with my fiancé to look around. Owner asked, “Anything I can help you with?” I said, “No thank you, just looking around.” Then she said, “Have you checked the other two antique shops near by?” I said, “No, not yet. Are they yours?” She said no, but then went on about how her shop is real vintage and the other shops are not. Even saying the other shops have candy, candles, and other new things so they are not real antique shops. Which I thought was odd. Then she started talking about how, “This country is not a free country like most people think.” I thought ok… whatever. Then she asked where I’m from and I told her I am from Longview. To which she said, “But where did you “originate” from?” I told her I am from Egypt. Then she started talking about how “this country is turning into a socialist nightmare with all the people who just want handouts. And all this social media and social programs are just to control the people. All these people are on state assistant and getting handouts.” Then I had to interrupt her stating, “I’m not sure where this conversation is going.” Then I had to literally tell her that I actually work as a public servant for the state where, “I help older people like you with in-home and long term care services and I have never received any handouts nor was I ever on state assistance. And, if I had been there shouldn’t be anything wrong with that either.” Owner of this store was rude, and made comments that were disturbing and racist. This was the first time ever walking into her shop and it felt like I was walking into a different era.

We had a wonderful time shopping in Kalama, and then we went into this place. It was drab, it smelled bad, and the inventory had faded old pricetags, like it was sitting around for ages. There was a very unhappy old woman sitting at a desk in the back, who greeted us by telling us we wouldn't find anything we wanted at her shop, and that we should go to the other shops in town, where we had just been. We had bags in our hands. She never got up out of her seat but proceeded to lecture us on antiques, and most bewilderingly, she gave us an entire spiel about how senior citizens have no money. We tried to let her know as kindly as possible that we knew about antiques, but she wasn't listening to a word we were saying. We browsed a little but all she seemed to want to do was fight with us, so we wished her luck and quickly left. It was sad. A real head scratcher. We talked about the old lady most of the way to Seattle and came to the conclusion that her business would ultimately fail. Her inventory was used-up looking. She was very off-putting and in fact drove us right out the front door. If she's ever wondering why her business is not booming, this is why.

0/10 probably won’t ever return here again. I got extreme uncomfortable vibes from the lady working there and felt absolutely drained of energy upon after finally escaping the store. She was convinced she had the best items you could possibly find ever and that the neighboring antique shops don’t have “real” antiques and we all should go to garage sales instead. Mind you, the only thing I’ve said to this lady so far was “hello, how are you today!”. As I was browsing her selection she could not stop her tangent of how “kids these days are totally illiterate” and there “are no more freedoms in America”. I’m not sure what antiques have anything to do with that in the first place. Either way I will just stick to shopping the other antique stores since they always have the most friendliest people working who greet you with a warm neighborly welcome. It’s a shame to see such bitter and negative energy in such a great town. She bragged about having the best prices you can find anywhere but also in the same sentence told me her entire store is priced matched on eBay. If you’re looking for a place to stop by while downtown Kalama, preserve your positive energy and check out the other cool genuine local business! I’m sure you can find a good items here as I saw many interesting things, however after living in Kalama for 11 years and finally stumbling into here, they lost all my current/future business.

Wow, I'm sorry Jordan L. had such a bad day when he wrote his review. It compels me to write that my husband and I visit Drew and Davis twice a year. We travel a great deal in Europe, Mexico, Canada and the United States, visiting antique shops as we go. The first thing we noticed about Drew and Davis is that their antiques are a cut above the inventory found in other regional stores. IT IS NOT FULL OF JUNK as so many of the others are. I love visiting the store because I know I will find unique items of good quality. Also, I can honestly say that we thoroughly enjoy visiting with the owner. She has never failed to be courteous, friendly, and, simply put, just fun to chat with. My husband and I would like to comment on the Kalama community, as well. It is a charming town - clean and friendly. The people there work very hard to keep their city viable in the tough times. They do an exemplar job. Hats off to Drew and Davis and the city of Kalama!

I antique shop a lot across the west coast. California, Oregon, Washington. Not only was I turned off by the insane prices (over double on standard items) but the female owner is one of the most insufferable people I've ever come across. Her demeanor of passively putting down other antique shops to her condescending approach to my girlfriend and I was just astounding. We left in a hurry and have no intentions of ever going back. If I were you, I'd skip this whole area and keep driving. There is nothing in these shops you can't find anywhere else and the prices are just ridiculous. Don't waste your time. Especially with this place. She said she's been in busy for 18.5 years, I'm surprised she's been able to survive selling this long. This place needs a price adjustment and an attitude change.

Just received my Buffalo Blue Willow China dishes. I just love them and only wish you had a few more for my Yellowstone reunion in July 2013. Thank you to my friend for finding them and sending from your shop. Kathe
