I went in February 9, around 11am, with difficulty breathing, coughing, airway feeling swollen. My inhaler stopped working. Nothing was working. The female PA? Doc? Idk, she said to “keep using my inhaler”. I told her it didnt work anymore. She said i had a virus. I said i didnt feel like i had a virus. I left, no treatment, no help.I went to another ER and they gave me steroids which helped immediately. I was breathing better. I started feeling better. I was having an allergic reaction! Not a virus. Then i called madigan patient advocacy two days ago to file a complaint, of course they havent called me back. They probably wont and my complaint probably wont matter anyways because their providers rarely face any type of accountability.Every time ive been to madigan hospital, and i do mean… every.single.time- ive always had a bad experience. Misdiagnosis and wrong treatments. Their ER health care providers are completely incompetent.I went to madigan to give them a chance to help me, in spite of the past. But they once again proved themselves worthless.Unless i want to die, i will *never* go to Madigan again. I feel sorry for Service Members who have no choice. They need better health care.

If you're looking to be yelled at by staff this is the place to be. The amount of unprofessionalism in this place is nauseating. The quality of care isn't there. Some people aren't meant to be in this profession. You're better off finding somewhere else to be seen.

This hospital is awful. I do not recommend anyone going here. My sister in law was 6weeks pregnant and she was experiencing bad cramps , bad back aches and bleeding. This is her 2nd pregnancy, she had a miscarriage for her first pregnancy. So yes she was always worried and afraid of something bad happening again so she always went in to the ER here at Madigan. And not only would she WAIT FOR MORE THAN 3hours to get seen , the staff was ridiculous. They made her get prepped to go in for a CT SCAN. Because she didn’t have very much experience with how things are during pregnancy bc again she had a miscarriage the first time , she just went a long w how the staff & doctor said she needed to get a CT scan. This was her 2nd time at the ER. As she was getting pulled into the room , the staff comes back and tell her that they were mistaken w another patient and that she needed to do an ultrasound, not a CT SCAN. SMHHH!!!! as we all know the risks of being exposed to radiation during pregnancy but again my sister in law did not know that. The staff was then joking around about the situation and said “ I HOPE YOU DONT TELL ANYONE ABOUT THIS “ . So frckn unprofessional!!!!! They took my sister in law as a joke. They said everything was okay and that bleeding was normal. The next day her cramps got worse and she was still bleeding . She decided to go off post to another hospital for a 2nd opinion & come to find out she lost the baby ???? now tell me if she didn’t even go to another hospital she prolly would’ve never known something was rlly wrong. Never again w Madigan. And mothers PLEASE TRUST UR INSTINCTS NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU GO IN TO GET SEEN DONT THINK UR CRAZY . ALWAYS GO IN FOR A CHECK UP . Better safe than sorry ???

This is the most poorly managed hospital I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. No one answers their phones, no one calls you back when they say they will, no one is willing to do their job. This facility does not take care of Soldiers. Fort Polk had better care, yes, Fort Polk.

Only giving this place a 1 star, because if the amazing history we have with Peds ????? (and only Hemoc) staff beginning from 2010. However to add who we admire, respect and thankful for: Peds Cardiologist and Endo. All else is a complete and utter total joke.

I have to say my ER visit turned into a hospital stay. I finally had a Dr in the ER who listened to my pain. My nurse while In the ER was amazing his name was Cruz I give him a 10 star rating! My nurses when I was moved up to a room were amazing every single one of them. The family medicine drs in charge of me were also amazing. But, I can say my husband and I weren’t much fans of the Obgyn Dr’s I felt like they didn’t really care to hear or even acknowledge where my pain was coming from even though they had 2 ultrasounds,1 CT scan and an MRI infront of them that showed my ovary was large in size they said it was normal to have a large ovary! We heard something different from a Dr as I was being discharged…

I don't know if I've just had really good luck, looking at these reviews, but I've been really impressed by Madigan medical center. All of the doctors I've seen have been great. Compassionate and genuine. The referral system has generally been okay. One was sent to the community but I didn't go through because they were booked out five months, but the other I was able to schedule a few days after requesting it.It's really great to be able to schedule an appointment so quickly and easily. LThe pharmacy isn't ideal, but the drive through place is great.

I’d rather suck start a 12 gauge then wait over 4 hours to see my X-ray results. Typical army health care ? this is why people don’t re enlist by the way.

Sorry to have read that some of you had bad experiences. Heads up to future patients I hope you’ll have a positive experience like I did. The staff was gentle and knowledgeable and respectful. The meals were delicious. I was in ICU for 2 days and then 2 days recovering in the hospital bed. Thank you staff for your care?

Just came on here to share my positive experience with the X-ray department yesterday. We are new here and was honestly scared about reading all the bad reviews about the hospital in general. But we still went cause we still do not know where else to go being new here and all. But we were greeted and treated nicely/professionally. We were offered help tremendously by the staff. I do think that we should also write about good experiences to let others, especially new ppl here like me, know that we can’t generalize one negative experience to the whole hospital. I also think that its important to mention the specific departments/person you are writing reviews about so it can be addressed more properly by their management. We went in expecting terrible service but we were happy we had a positive experience instead.

Never any availability, even in case of emergency. Emergency room wait of 8 hours after daughter had seizure without a room. Once in a room, we were only there for 2 more hours which is good. Can't transfer to out of base because of Tricare. Horrible. I'm going to be calling scheduling every day to see if they have any openings. They said they're booked for the next 2 months, and can't take her try later. X10

*** Suggestion for patients and reviewers!! ***Leave a review for the specific department(s) you visited. Not all departments are created equal, nor do they deserve to have poorly managed areas bring down others. If you want change, it is easier to pinpoint performance by narrowing down the feedback.

Unable to handle the amount patients. The word prevention is not in their books.Appts take too long for less than 20 minutes visit. No policies towards appt.Referals outside wont happen.Patients advocacy on the phone? From all hospital in the army, this is the worst.VA Hospital BETTER treatment
