I came home to a flood (off post) at 9pm and I needed some where to go. I remembered staying here when I first PCSd so I headed over. The wonderful ladies behind the desk here were able to check me in without a prior reservation late at night and I was able to stay 4 days. Room was very clean, free laundry and free breakfast. Dog friendly, and lots of free parking.

My two weeks stay here was enjoyable. I was in bldg 2111. The beds were comfortable, room was very clean, shower was hot, room thermostat was easy to control, great customer service overall. I utilized their business center with the computer and free printing. There was also a small fitness room with exercise equipments. Washer and dryer were free, which is pretty awesome, just need to get your own detergent. There's also a room with stove and oven if you want to cook your own food, but you'll need to bring your own kitchenware (pot, pan, spatula, oil, etc.). The BX and commissary are essentially next door, so it was easy to get food and essential items. The only thing is that like many other hotels, the walls are thin, so you may hear your neighbors next door. If feasible, you may want to request a room without neighbors.

I never had a lot of expectations about IHG but this changed my perspective! Safe place, room service is nice and it’s nearby by groceries and food places and gyms! Highly recommended! I stayed in this facility for 2 months.

TLDR: Loud, dirty, and TERRIBLE service. In one word: Disappointment.000Room: 6/10Location: 8/10Pros:- Location - it's on-post, safe, and close to PX/commissary.- Free laundry with nice, newer machines.- IHG beds with soft & firm pillows is nice.- AC works well without moldy/musty smells.Cons:- "Kitchen-ette" is a mini fridge, a hotplate, and a sink. No dinnerware, silverware, pots/pans/bowls/etc. If you ask at the front desk they will sign out out a tub of questionable/variable cookware and give you paper plates. Fridge/freezer didn't work well and froze my food, then defrosted my frozen food - I stopped trying after that.- So loud. The doors slamming in the hallways/stairwells. House keeping basically keeps up a drum-line when they service a room (they wouldn't service my room, still not sure how someone got them to do that) with the door slamming into the hasp keeping it open every three seconds. It's an on-post hotel so there's lots of people in transition, pets, kids, and adults acting like kids - bring your earplugs.- Service: the first answer will be "No" or "We can't" when in fact they can - they just don't want to.- Breakfast: The hours change on the weekend, keep your expectations VERY low and don't expect there to be food if you get there in the last 30 minutes and they will lock it all down exactly when breakfast hours end - and they block the area off during the day. If you get down there before breakfast hours, don't expect the coffee to be make (it's the cold leftover coffee from the day before).Army contract lodging at its most predictable. Front desk staff could not care less, screwed up my billing then tried telling me there was nothing that could be done to fix it (had to go down again and get manager involved, who fixed it without any trouble). Housecleaning comes twice a week if you stay over 7 days, but despite being there two full weeks and asking for service they never came. You have to take your own trash out every day and place it into one of the many 50gal rolling trash cans the place in the halls - by 1000 the smell of dirty diapers and rotting takeout hits pretty hard. The rooms are all hard surfaces of tile and LVP so it feel a little like a prison cell and less like a hotel room. Final point, don't get room at the end of the halls - you'll get your steps in, but since they're so long and there's only one SLOW elevator people use the stairwell doors so there's a lot of traffic. At the end of the day I moved out early and went to the Hampton Inn for the same price and wish I'd done that earlier.

Housekeeping has been missing our room every week. Minimal cleaning and restocking. Worst hotel ever.

☝️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️? We highly reccommend this hotel, particularly for those who rate it by association with military service. The floor plans, cleanliness, maintenance, amenities, comfort, and management is highly competitive with the nicer hotels. Situated close to the main gate and within walking distance to various nice restaurants, stores, the main commissary/PX/BX and numerous other facilities, like a fueling station with a convenience store as well as an Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch. From reservation to check-out the level of caring professionalism and accommodating work ethic ensured customer satisfaction in several regards. Follow-up concerning our lengthy reservation was appropriate and timely. Both the front reception desk personnel and staff attending to the breakfast area were courteous and accommodating of our occasional perhaps unusual request. The personnel attending to the breakfast, were diligent, if understaffed and apparently overworked in accordance with their duty demands which was overwhelmingly busy some mornings. Unfortunately, at least one morning I observed supervisory management absent from the breakfast department. Otherwise our experience was outstanding and worthy of complement to all staff whom we interacted with. They all deserve an accolade or bonus, in our opinion. The maintenance was terrific and the entire facility well cared for including the landscape/grounds. It's quite apparent that a driveway with daed space needs to be removed and additional parking spaces installed/added, as the parking was always overflowing during our entire fifteen day stay. Because of the nature of most military members stay, we reccommend that trash receptacles be provided at the evening portion of each day, staged every several rooms apart through the hallways to help housecleaning and reduce trash build-up within the rooms. If and when we return to this area of Washington, we will most certainly consider utilizing our access to this Holiday Inn again.Rooms: The rooms are very competitive regarding amenities, comfort, cleanliness, and upper scale features.Nearby activities: Since this hotel is just within the base fare, it's near I-5 which leads to numerous nearby restaurants, stores, fueling stations, shops and various points of interest.Safety: Being on base, security is in accordance with a continous military presence, with ample lighting.Walkability: Nicely situated within walking distance to the main commissary, PX/BX, a Texas Roadhouse and numerous other restaurants, stores, ships, food trucks and other necessities.Noteworthy details: Of course, this hotel is located on base, appropriately near the main Commissary and BX/PX with several restaurants including popular food trucks and several shops/stores, to including a nearby fueling station & convenience store as well as an Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch in base.

Nice new and clean. Designer had no idea what they were doing. Make the lobby in the middle of an L shaped building. Walk forever to get there, and not enough rain cover to go to next building. Otherwise super clean and friendly.

There seems to be miscommunication between the Hotel and Base Operations. We are non-military but booked this hotel to stay as we were passing through on our way to Mt. Rainier. We had called the hotel and asked if civilians can stay here, they said yes and all we needed was a visitors pass from the Base Visitor Center. So we called the Base Visitor Center and they said all we need is a valid federal ID to get a visitor pass. However, when we arrived that was not the case. The base would not issue a visitor pass without a sponsor. The hotel called the Sergeant in charge and stated they have civilians stay at the hotel all the time…he was arguing with her and said they’ve never seen this type of request. Long story short - do not book this hotel if you are non-military as you will not be given access to the base and will have to book a last minute pricey hotel at a nearby location.

Our recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express Rainier Inn and Rainier Complex was less than satisfactory. There were several issues that we encountered during our stay. We were unable to check in until after 4 PM, and then the reserved room was not available for our family when we arrived. There was not enough bedding provided for our family, leaving us in an uncomfortable situation. Our rooms were not thoroughly cleaned before our arrival. There was splatter marks on all the photos and spilled liquid on the tables and leftover hair on the bedding. The room had a kitchenette but no dishes. Not even paper plates or plastic utensils. The air conditioning smelled like mildew. The hotel hallways were dirty and there was trash outside of the complex in various areas. Additionally, there is a $75 per pet fee per night and the presence of a lot of shady characters that only served to make us feel less safe and less comfortable during our stay. This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at on a military installation. All of these factors make me unable to recommend that others stay at this hotel, and I would strongly advise people to look for alternative accommodations that offer safer and more comfortable options for their stay.
