The jiu jitsu and boxing have been very beneficial for me. The professors and students are very helpful and all efforts are made for an excellent and safe training environment.

My son and I have been going here since we moved to the Seattle area about 6 months ago. I've learned so much in that time. Great training partners and even better professors and coaches. Looking forward to my BJJ journey here.

I trained here for about a 18 months while I was living in Issaquah and cannot recommend this gym enough. As a transplant to the Greater Seattle area, it was hard moving to a new place, especially with the infamous "Seattle Freeze", however, everyone at the gym was incredibly warm and welcoming (instructors and fellow students alike). Most of my best memories of the Pacific Northwest took place at this gym. There are students of all levels so there is something for everyone. I have since moved to Southern California (which is supposed to be the Mecca for Jiu Jitsu) but have yet to find a gym that is as good as Gracie Barra Issaquah. If you are a newbie looking to learn BJJ for the first time or an experienced jiu jitsu practitioner, you can't go wrong with this gym.11/10 would recommend!

My son and I have trained at this school for two years. Professor Jason, Coach Jarred, and the rest of the crew are incredible instructors. There are a lot of high level students so it’s easy to progress, but the vibe is always chill and focused on self-improvement. I have trained at a lot of other schools as a visitor and I’m always happy to get back to my home gym. 10/10

Professors Jason and Dynamo are top-notch and Coach Jarred and the others are obviously very committed to sharing (mostly competition oriented) BJJ with all ages and backgrounds; Coach Jarred's memory for names class after class is impressive. Jason has established a really good community on the mats that frequently crosses-over to off-mat life as well. Speaking of them, the mats are cleaned after each adult BJJ, boxing, or kick-boxing use; at least 2-3x daily. It would be great to see this gym grow into a larger space!

Prof. Jason has made Jiu-Jitsu very easy and enjoyable to learn. His instruction skills are unmatched. The higher-ranked members of the gym help with learning as well. Not sparring with ego and giving pointers to those who are less experienced. Most of the time when rolling they will only provide resistance and let you work technique. Training with those who are better has been a huge part in my progression.I highly advise showing up to the striking classes included in your membership. Prof. Dynamo will start you boxing. Once he approves of your fundamentals he will begin to incorporate Muay Thai and Dutch Kickboxing techniques into your arsenal. Prof. Dynamo's style and process are the best out of any gym I have visited.

I've trained at quite a few places over the last 12 years and I believe this gym strikes the best balance I've seen in terms of professionalism vs a fun atmosphere, proper technique vs figuring out what works best for your game, promoting toughness and fighting hard vs emphasizing kindness and learning. These are hard things to get right. The leader of the gym is very skillful and the game he emphasizes are great for all body types and skill levels.

I tried a couple of different jiu jitsu studios and this is by far the best. Hands down. Professor Jason is incredible at teaching and it is a super positive environment. I can't recommend Gracie Barra Issaquah enough!

Best place for Bjj in the area. Professor Jason creates a welcoming, family centered atmosphere. My kids love Coach Jarods youth classes and Solid boxing program with Profossor Dynamo. Couldn't ask for a better place to get exercise and make life long friends.

This gym has a great community feel. Everyone is very friendly and always trying to help each other get better since we all remember what it feels like starting out as a beginner. The instructors are all excellent, very knowledgeable and patient. And FWIW, both the kick boxing and BJJ classes have a pretty wide age range, and both men and women, so all are welcome.

Transitioned from another BJJ gym and immediately felt at home. Professor Jason is a great teacher and I learned a ton! I had to relocate for work but if I hadn't this is the place I would want to earn my black belt. The mats are very clean and everyone is friendly. Any question you have Jason and Jared will stop everything and jump on the mat to help you out. This is a great gym if you're just starting out, too. It's a scary thing at first but if you've got the right people around it's easy to catch the BJJ bug like I did here! Highly recommend.

This is Issaquah's best Jiu Jitsu Academy. Professor Adams has a ton of experience and patience and makes sure you get it right. The guys and girls that he has over there are top notch sparring partners that are incredibly tough but not out to kill you. Great Academy.
