Dr. Allen and her staff are the best! They are so caring and loving, and Dr. Allen goes above and beyond to ensure your dog's good health. Plus, she, and her brother, are so welcoming and kind. We wouldn't go anywhere else with our doggos.

Dr. Allen and her staff are remarkable. She NEVER pushes anything on you, she is not an alarmist/aggressive with treatment, very reasonable in her approach & cost and makes sure all of your questions are answered. She has such a warm spirit with deep love for animals and is very bright. Yes, the hours are limited (the woman is a superhero balancing work and home), but support her business and beautifully run practice.

Dr. Allen and her front desk, David, are so above and beyond amazing. They're kind, caring , and treat me and my beloved pets so well. Dr. Allen is very knowledgeable and is able to give you a good perspective as a pet owner. Also, the fun pet sayings in the office are just so funny it makes me happy going in.

My girlfriend was in a panic after a terrible experience at another vet when her dog was injured. Not only did the wonderful vet at Annotto Bay listen to her, comfort her and her dog, and go above and beyond with kindness and aid, but she restored her faith in humanity. Speaking as a once loyal patient of Doctor Allen, don't bring your pets here. My dogs suffered needlessly for years/months. My dog suffered with a tumor in his prostate for 6 MONTHS while doctor Allen's office kept telling me they ran all the tests and checked all the things and everything came back clear. I took him in THREE times, even telling her he was straining to go to the bathroom and that i thought there was something blocking his bladder or colon. I was given a shrug of the shoulders and told his intense anxiety and accidents must be old age. I took him to another vet, they ran a urine test and found evidence of crystals and bacteria. They did and ultrasound and found his bladder full of stones, bacteria and a tumor in his prostate. That vet (animal hospital of Newport hills) reprimanded me because this had to be going on for a long time and they didn't know what I had been through with annotto. I'm entirely sure annotto was charging me for tests they were not running and my dog suffered and lost his life because of it. My other dog has always had horrible breath so when took him to annotto for his teeth cleaning I was fully expecting some to be pulled. I got them deep cleaned twice and both times I was told his teeth looked great and there was no need for extractions! His breath was still horrible but at that time I had no reason to not trust her. Fast forward to present day, I take him in to Newport hospital of animal hills they have to extract 18 TEETH! His breath hasn't smelled bad in the months since. I don't think annotto bay even cleaned his teeth when I brought him in. He suffered for years.

I could write an entire review on Dr. Allen, who is BY FAR The greatest veterinarian we have had the pleasure of working with. You always hear that that's are "caring" but Dr. Allen is different. She is genuinely caring. She has genuine love for animals, her animal clients and their owners. She has this warmth about her that is so calming. She is gentle, kind and thorough. We have trusted her was three of our wonderful dogs and will never ever change Veterinarians. She will NOT rip you off financially. We are constantly blown away by the honesty and integrity of Dr. Allen's prices and services. You can trust her. But this review is actually focused on David. I'm not sure his exact title, but he is the man who answers the phone, books appointments, and is the main liaison between clients and Dr. Allen. In this day and age it is so hard to find people who care for their work (i.e. customer service, thoroughness, making the client feel noticed and important) so when you come across a gem like David, it truly gives you hope in this world. My dog Lola has been suffering from a skin disorder for many many months. Dr. Allen was out on maternity leave, but David went out of his way to still help us. He made an unbelievable effort to get us appointments, continued calling and contacting Dr. Allen, asked for photos and detailed information about Lola's skin problems, talked on the phone with me multiple times, followed up with me and so much more. We felt so alone and scared when we couldn't find care to the caliber of Dr. Allen while she was out, but David was the one who helped us through it. Then today, he followed up once again letting me know that Dr. Allen was back in the office. He remembered that I was a teacher and knew I wouldn't be able to drop a Lola off at 10 when they opened. He offered an early drop off time at 8 o'clock this week and promised he would be there to let us in. Thank you David and thank you Dr. Allen for all you have done! We love you and trust you so much and are forever grateful for Annotto Bay.
